If the mucus feels like its coming from the base of your chest then it suggests that the infection is quiet low down your respiratory tract. If you have been feeling more tired or weak this would be the cause of it because you would be unable to transpport enough oxygen to the rest of your body causing fatigue. If you do have a respiratory infection and you chose not to be treated by a gp then you run the risk of pneumonia which would land you in the hospital eventually.
i have been coughing since August 2008 till date, have done so many CXR, blood test, sputum test, mantoux, HIV test and nothing was discovered. Recently, i did another CXR and Sputum test and was told again it wasn't TB. I was told to have a report on my CXR which says i should go for a CT Scan because the CXR report shows am having an infection in my right upper lobe opacity which have not done.

What sort of surgery are the doctors planning to do?It can be a surgery for sinus drainage which can result in dry irritating cough.

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possible causes that may need to be considered include respiratory tract infections, inflammations, neuro-muscular causes etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician or a pulmonologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

Symptoms of an immunoglobulin deficiency include recurrent infections, especially of the respiratory tract (sinus, lungs, and ears) or gastrointestinal tract, and/or chronic diarrhea.

Cough and sputum are signs of either common cold or lower respiratory tract infections. In either case, as you have undergone major surgery it is important to get a chest x-ray and examination by your doctor for confirmation of the cause for this.
In certain cases, as patient’s are mostly in lying position, chances are high to get fluid accumulation or infection. If it common cold, symptomatic treatment would be enough.
At the beginning of the month I got the upper respiratory virus that was going around so did the kids. all three of the kids stopped the coughing withing a week (so did the co-workers) I have asthma but I cannot get rid of the productive cough.

This is not the same as bleeding from the mouth, throat, or gastrointestinal tract. Aside from tuberculosis, other conditions leading to this include blood clot in the lung, Bronchiectasis, Bronchitis, vasculitis, pneumonia,laryngitis, and even from irritation of the throat from violent coughing.
Now what the problem is dat she is still coughing and evening fever sometimes,same doctor is giving her treatment of asthma i.e. inhalars and nimbulizers.During T.B. she was 34 kg and gained with 42 kg after the treatment.Now she is again losing weight and now 40 kg and also she is bleeding from nose with irritation and sometimes slight blood from cough.She is in high tension dat is it T.B again ?or other problem.
