coughing at home

My 2 year old kid has been coughing most days at night? Anyone know what it could be? Anyone know how to get in touch with a pediatrician over the phone or web? Would not mind getting an opinion from home as my next appointment is not for a month.

I'm so sick of coughing and hacking to no end! The cough syrup I'm using isn't working, nor are the cough drops, chloraseptic spray, gargling salt water, vicks vapor rub....ect ect. Any of you ladies know of a home remedy to get rid of a cough? My ribs and my belly feel like they're about to split! Plus I can't sleep.

my 5 year old daughter lies down at night, she cannot stop coughing.. she naps in the same bed that day, no cough, but as soon as night comes, and bed time, she coughs all night long.. we have had no sleep in three months.. the drs say it is nothing -- allergies, or a sinus infection, and put us on zurteck and a z-pac.. but it has done nothing.. she has a severe history of upper respitory infections .. from 2 on, 2-3 almost died.. from it..we are at a loss! .. HELP!!!!!!

I talked to my doctor an she said for me to try using my inhaler to help open my lungs an stuff and I have been doing that an the cough is not getting any better. Should I just go in an get checked? Cause the coughing is starting to hurt my stomach. Please help.

So the only complaint I have is chest congestion and coughing up yellow stuff since before surgery they have found no infection so will find out more tomorrow. Im having to use my enhaler more then 4 times a day to breathe. Of course I need to stop smoking and it has really curtailed me from doing so because I do like breathing. Will ask for patches tomorrow. Anesthieologist was great about asking about my liver and made adjustments accordingly. I know part of it is due to being put under.

My tiny four pound Maltese/Poodle cross has been coughing and I was wondering if someone has any ideas. He is about 8 1/2 and has had issues with his behavoir. He won't let us have him groomed without him trying to bite us or get his nails trimmed, so every four months or so we have to have him knocked out to have this done. i had surgery at 9 am tuesday and was home wed at 6 pm. so i just spent one night in the hospital. they told me i could have been there up to 4 days. so i am blessed. i want to thank everyone for their prayers and concerns. it means so much to me. i will be here for anyone that needs me.

NS said he didn't find anything unexpected, and I don't think he was looking for anything in particular. He was also surprised at how quickly I noticed improvement in my breathing. I tire easily and my head/neck hurt constantly, but it's great to be at home! At least at home I can manage my own pain meds -- I didn't have a pump, so had to beg for meds all the time when pain got bad...then had to WAIT for pharmacy to send up my flexeril. So lame!

Tylenol, saline nose drops, robitussin DM, Dimetapp DM or Sudafed? Hope this helps you a little....as far as your child at home...I would definitely speak with my Pediatrician...there are too many things that arent safe at all!

i have had this cough for 2 months now and i would like to no that same question^^^^,when i cough it makes me vomit,and green and yellow flem comes out of my mouth i have been to the doctors and they have said its only hay fever or u have a lot of mucus , so they give me some tablets and the cough as not gone, i would like to what it could be and what could get rid of this cough i am really starting to worry now please some one right back

m choking and wanting to puke at the same time. I wake up in the middle of the night coughing and nothing seems to work. I took medicine, I did showers, vicks on my feet and throat and cough drops. I even did the whole honey and lemon. I tried tea and hot water with lemon and honey. But I just can't find anything soothing. This has been happening for about a week or so.

See a Dr for your health issues, they are not HIV related. You can test now for HIV and you will have your result. You can never use symptoms for HIV.

Please know that coughing (unles it's a hairball) or panting is NOT ok in your cat. We had an upper resp, virus go through our house and 2 cats were fine. The 3rd I thought had mucus in his throat or trouble breathing due to stuffy nose like the rest and didn't realise his distress till he coughed up a frightening gob of green phlegm. Hello Medhelp.. I've gotten sick /flu/fever 3 weeks ago..Usually my coughing and body aches last about a week..but my coughing has not gone away. I am a smoker for 9 years..but never experienced coughing like this. I cough severley only at night while I'm sleeping..but then the coughing gets better during the day. This coughing has been lasting 3 weeks..and the severe coughing at night which wakes me up has been about 4 days. Is this a sign of HIV or STD?

I dont know if she will die or not because i dont know whats wrong with her but i would tell her she could very well die the next day if she doesnt get looked at now. Id be concerned with the pain and coughing up blood for no reason.

Mostly you are asleep, coughing wakes you up, you sit up, you start coughing, coughing, coughing, then suddenly it feels as if your windpipe closes and you breathe, talk, swallow, anything!! This lasts up to 30-35 seconds (which seems like forever). It is very frightening! Eventually you can draw in small breaths and the episode subsides...... Has anyone heard of this? A cough supressenat should be administered. Better to err on the side of caution and give another day of rest at home. Nothing at school is that important.

A week later, when the antibiotics ran out, I was still coughing. I went back to the doctor, was given more antibiotics, and sent home. After those antibiotics ran out, I was still coughing. A third trip to the doctor and I was given steroids as well as another round of antibiotics, blood work, and a chest x-ray. The x-ray and blood work came back normal, other than a very faint fog on the x-ray, which the doctor and the radiologist weren't worried about.

They wanted to keep me but I have 4 kids at home to care for so they sent me home with a steroid, inhaler and cough meds and told me to finish the z-pak. I finished the z-pak about a week ago and still don't feel better.
