transderm-scop

Avatar f tn I am in need of finding a better treatment for all this nausea (side effect of the triple treatment for my Hep C) and was wondering if any of you have tried the Transderm-Scop patches that you wear for 72 hours. Have tried Zofran and all it gave me was enormous headaches, now using the Phenegran but needed it every 4 hours like clockwork.....ANY opinions and information will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have tried antivert, valium, and the Transderm Scop patch to treat it. The patch helped for a while, but in the past few days seems to have stopped working. Also in the last few days I have had upset stomach, gas, and mild diarrhea. I have been drinking pedialite and gatorade to treat dehydration if that's what it is/prevent dehydration. I am completely at my wits end - I can't work or drive or function or do anything but lie down and not move my head or focus on anything.
Avatar n tn My husband had the Transderm Scop Patch on for a total of one mo.,due to the fact that when he removed it he would have dizziness & nausea. One week ago he removed it for 48 hrs. and had vertigo & severe nausea. He then had a sudden loss of memory, went to hosp.via ambulance and spent 2 days having MRI,CT,numerous other testing and was diagnosed with Transient Global Amnesia. Fortunately memory returns in 24-48 hrs. but he still has symptoms of dizziness and headaches.

617846 tn?1231553233 I suffer from profound episodes of vertigo, so the doctor has prescribed me a 1.5 mg transderm patch. I only use it when the vertigo is extremely severe. My problem is this: When I apply the patch, (behind the ear, either right or left) I immmediately experience extreme anisocoria in whichever eye is nearer the patch. While I am curious about this, mostly because it is not listed under side/adverse effects,it is not my priority concern.
Avatar f tn I've actually been wondering for quite a while if thyroid meds could be delivered via "transderm patch", like they do with motion sickness meds, birth control hormones, etc. Yes, they would be especially great for delivering a continuous dose of T3, but they would have their uses for T4 also. For one, they would bypass the gut and all the interections with food and problems with absorbtion. I actually emailed the question to Abbott a while back.
1903798 tn?1333905288 It seems that a lot of us have nausea problems. Before surgery they put a sticker behind my ear for nausea. They replaced it 3 days later (they last 3 days). I was really sick to my stomach the morning I was to fly home so I asked for NS to call in a sticker and I have been fine since (3 days now). I am just wondering if those with nausea problems have tried transderm scopolamine 1.5 mg dis.
Avatar f tn Has anyone that has gastricparesis tried Zelnorm? It was working for me and than they took it off the market. My doctor just suggested a drug from Canada named domperidone. Does anyone have any experience with this drug. I tried Reglan and couldn't handle the side affects. Erithamyacin made me break out in a rash. Right now I depend on Zofran for the throwing up and sometimes it doesn't help.
Avatar n tn I recently went on a a 7 day cruise and wore the scopolamine patch from the first day and changed at 3 days. A total of 2 patches. I removed the patch the day I got home within 24 hours of removal I became very ill vomiting and nauseated. This continured throughout the next day. I called the Dr. and she told me to take dramamine. I remembered I had one patch left so I applied the patch again. Within 3 hours I was feeling better and that next day began to feel better.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am addicted to the fentany transderm patch and am trying to get off of it. I didn't know I was hooked until I tried to stop using it. I was struck by a vehicle while walking home about a year ago and had a titanium implant over my right clavivcle. The scews to it came loose, but it was left in for months before they decided to put in a new one. So my pain has been on-going. I wasn't told how addictive this patch is. I am now on the patch plus oxycodone.
Avatar f tn He sent me for a hearing test, which was normal. Then he took me off Antivert and had me try transderm-scop patches but I had an allergic reaction to it. So now I'm on Valium and Compazine. I would say those medications help about 50% of the way. I don't feel as dizzy, but if I'm up and about too long I eventually need to lay down. The nausea is mostly gone as long as I keep with the compazine.
Avatar m tn Tomorrow I will be doing my 3rd shot and have struggled with the nausea and vomiting. I'm on Zofran and Transderm-Scop patch - which is the patch behind the ear that lasts for 72 hours. Between the two, I have it under control, although I can definitely tell when both of them are due. I've tried to stop both of them independently, but as soon as I do, I'm back to square one. Hope this help.
Avatar m tn I concur with Ed and Flycaster but the issue for this patient is the return of her anginal symptoms after 3 weeks. If we assume she has been supplementing the nitro patch with sl nitro for angina symptoms then address that critical issue for the patient as she needs good O2 supply to heart muscle regardless of underlying etiology. 1. Is she using the patches correctly? Not halving them, having no interference with light/sun on them and sweat coming between the patch and her skin.
Avatar m tn For nearly six years I have been suffering from chronic unexplained episodes of nausea. Shortly after the birth of my daughter (c-section) I began to have these episodes of extreme nausea, vomiting, dizziness, feeling overheated, shaking, increased bowel movements, and urination. I have had colonoscopy, egd, barium study, cat scan, ultra sound. I have been seen and treated for the possibility of panic attacks contributing to episodes, to no avail.
Avatar f tn Hey, The cost of drugs are out of control. My insurance does not cover office visits or prescriptions. I did find this helpful search engine called Medtipster and use it to find the generic equivalents of my medicines. They will locate a pharmacy within your zip code where you can go to get $4 generics. Maybe this will help?
Avatar m tn My GP thinks I have meniere's disease. I have been wearing a TransDerm scope patch for motion sickness. It helps a little.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
599170 tn?1300973893 Something absolutely positive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice. ( blank for a reason wink * ) recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition. But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying. I had a recent pelvic exam and everything seemed fine. Shorty after my initial post, I went back on the Vivelle-Dot and had only mild spotting after three weeks. That week I had forgotten to change my patch for several hours after I should have. So the Vivelle -Dot seems to have alleviated the symptoms. The difference in cost for me is $120 versus $20 for a 3-month mail-order prescription.
Avatar f tn If you do, they may cover the cost of the patch or other medications, as well as any hospital bills or doctor bills you may incur. Best of luck and if I can provide any further assistance/information, please let me know.

Avatar n tn I don't know of a pharmacy in your area but I would ask your pharmacy if they would be willing to order a different manufacturer of the fentanyl patch. I had good results with Watson brand.

Avatar f tn I have had a sore throat on and off for 3 months, now small bumps have formed in the back of my throat above the tonsils, i have a clogged ear that is not really responding to polysporin ear drops. I have a small circular patch of dry skin on my thumb not responding to hydrocortisone. I also have hpv.
4128244 tn?1350073611 I just found this, which I thought was kind of interesting in light of your transderm patch (thyrotropin=TSH): "Estrogens may increase serum thyrotropin concentration, which could... increase dosage requirements in patients with hypothyroidism receiving thyroxine for replacement therapy. Estrogens are known to increase serum thyroid-binding globulin concentration in a dose-dependent manner.
