neupogen

764075 tn?1234495599 Hi there, Does anyone know if there are assistance programs out there in Canada for the same thing, Neupogen? Is it even allowed for sale in Canada?
Avatar f tn I made an appointment with him for a second opinion and then treated in one of the Boceprevir trials. There are other new drugs in the pipeline currently in trials that you could speak with him about at your appointment. In the meantime do a search at www.clinicaltrials.gov using "Hepatitis C and Michigan". See what comes up then you can start your homework prior to your appointment. Best of luck!
1501377 tn?1291508678 I got mine mostly in vials of 300 mcg and some in factory prefilled syringes. I also had an issue with my anc going very low each week and very high after injection so I injected twice per week. I reused the vial (1/2 each injection) which of course your not supposed to do but I assume is similar to the pharmacy filling their own syringes. Maybe the pharmacy version has a preservative in it and the single use does not.
Avatar m tn It is derived by multiplying the WBC count times the percent of neutrophils in the differential WBC count. The percent of neutrophils consists of the segmented (fully mature) neutrophils) + the bands (almost mature neutrophils). The normal range for the ANC = 1.5 to 8.0 (1,500 to 8,000/mm3). Low ANC is to be expected with treatment and most hepatologists don't become concerned until the ANC drops below 500. My insurance is BCBS.
Avatar m tn 1) Does it cost money in canada to meet with a counsellor? (don't really want to go to the meetings) Kind of looking for a step by step program type thing to keep me clean? 2)Can you keep it anonymous and not release your name?
Avatar f tn That is insane, in Canada I had a csection, was in the hospital for 4 days and the only thing I paid for was my 14 dollar constipation meds.
648439 tn?1225058862 I was shocked but I thought that perhaps in NZ is is not offered in treatment probably because of cost. I am talking govt funded treatment, not private. Does any NZ-er know anything about this - anyone being treated with Procrit or similar here.
Avatar m tn I'm just guessing here...I think a lot of it has to do with the cost. The procrit is about $1000/ injection, and neupogen around the same. Drs have to justify clearly the use of them to the insurance companies. I know also that Procrit can cause a sort of scarring inside the bones, which could become a problem down the road..I'm not sure about Neupogen...
1794638 tn?1345155061 Before starting treatment, since I am a Medicare recipient with Medicare Part D, through Humana, most of my drug cost was paid , but I had some very very steep co-pay amounts and had to seek co pay assistance, like to the tune of almost $12,000. Ofcourse we all know what the cost of Incivek is !!!! And because I am on Med Part D, I am not entitled to free drugs. Or free co pay. Chaps me !
Avatar m tn I am going through the same thing right now...same place...mind you I am female...but in the same general area....it started 2 weeks ago and it is HUGE...and scaring me...as it does not seem to be draining and am afraid to go to the doctor with this...it is soo painful...I am soo sorry to hear you are dealing with this also. I was going to post a question concerning this and just happened to see your post....I have been applying heat to the area...
Avatar m tn Here are some patient assistance numbers from the mfgrs. I haven't used these in a while, so if one of them doesn't work for you let me know and I'll straighten it out: Pegassist (Roche Pegasys system): 1-866-422-2377 Commitment to Care (Schering- Plough PEG-Intron system): 1-800-521-7157 Amgen Pharmaceuticals (Neupogen) 1-888-762-6436 http://www.needymeds.org/drug_list.taf?
Avatar n tn I have been purchasing his medications for him on line though a pharmacy in Canada costing an extreme amount of money for his Synthroid. I am on a limited income and I cannot afford it anymore. My daughter in law is very sick too. She had thyroid cancer, stage three and is in desperate need to see a physician for her follow ups. She is supposed to get scanned twice a year since her surgery and has not been scanned once. She simply cannot afford it.
Avatar f tn My insurance charges $150 a month. Some insurance charge a percentage of the cost of the drugs. That is what we are fighting against in NC.
Avatar f tn Costs appear to vary widely from state to state, country to country. I live in Canada and have no clue what these tests cost. ( I've always thought this information should be available to Canadians so that people don't take universal health care for granted, because obviously it isn't 'free.'). I do know that generally, neurologists earn more, and charge more, in the U.S. than they do in Canada.
4355200 tn?1354593144 depending on where you go...same script in Canada $170 - $200 a mo. ...my pharmacist says we in US pay higher drug costs than any other country for same drug...asked my liver specialist about getting drugs in Canada and he veto'd it. Also if prescribed tx and insurance, if you have it or, if you don't, will pay for the Incivek. If you are in a study the interferon and ribavirin can be picked up by the drug companies too with appropriate letters from your doctor.
5079728 tn?1365549989 Further, you ought to be able to call the different HCV drug companies and see the support you might be eligible for. This is all based on a lot of ifs and keep in mind most of what I mentioned are examples of things that happen prior to treatment. When you discuss your treatment options the doctor might mention the "all oral meds" in clinical trials. Be sure to ask if you are a candidate.
Avatar n tn 5 Secondly, my first neupogen shot left me in so much pain, I emailed my doctor the next week, in tears telling him how much I dreaded doing the next shot. He suggested doing half a dose. Problem solved and ironically, my anc were better with the lower dosage than the higher one. It's nasty stuff. Be sure you're taking calcium and vitamin D for your bones.

862235 tn?1336060295 I have a plan were I pay up front and am reimbursed. The cost for one month Incivek in Canada $14000 + 2000$ for the Pegasus. Now I need to scramble to find the finances to cover the cost and then hope the turn-around time with the insurance is under a month or I'll be totally screwed next month. Maybe she should have chosen the Victrelis. The cost would have been split over more weeks that way. Beware.
Avatar f tn still looking for possible IL28B testing and any of the latest in Canada, Has anyone filed in Ontario for transfusion compensat claim, just wondering about questions and procedure of the health long term care Hep C assist program.
