I have had knee, hip and back x-rays, MRI scans on my back and hip, two knee operations for mild CMP and a lateral release. I have also seen a chiropracter and had a bio-mechanical assessment (othotics req'd). Nothing was found, joint spacing etc fine except for some fraying of the cartilage on the posterior lateral aspect of my patella. The lateral release was to see if it could alieviate the pain and give the IT band some laxity.

As you mentioned, it is 18 months after surgery I don't think this scar would dissappear. Normally, the scar will be approximately six to eight inches long. It will be straight down the center of your knee unless you have previous scars, in which case they may use the prior scar. There will be some numbness around the scar.

Yes the knee specialist I seen when I was 18 sent me for a MRI then told me i had osteoarthritis and that he could offer me steriod shots but i would be dependent on it, so I just took the pain pills which I don't take anymore because of side effects and cost.
