Avatar f tn and perhaps a future option for me, but...Can anyone tell me the approx cost to go to one of these MS Specialists in the States??? Is there a LONG waiting list? Also, where are some of these places located? (I live directly across from Michigan in Canada) Thanks, everyone!
Avatar f tn I would be getting my uterus and cervix removed. How much do they cost out of pocket and is there any kind of financial assistance that would help me pay for the medical bill?
Avatar f tn Surgery is the mainstay of fibroid treatment. In addition to hysterectomy and abdominal myomectomy, various minimally invasive procedures have been developed to remove fibroids.
Avatar n tn Ahh, very sorry. Many a woman, including myself, know your pain. I had a big life change last January. I HAD to lose weight for health reasons. I completely redid my diet. I am not on a 'diet' but changed what I eat. I eliminated most sugar. This is hard to do, especially for someone like me that has never met a cupcake I didn't want to introduce to my stomach! I also show love through food and I love a lot of people.
Avatar n tn Having a hysterectomy does not mean that everything comes out; hysterectomy is the removal of just the uterus; the full hysterectomy involves removing everything: ovaries, fallopian tubes, and the uterus!
Avatar f tn com/endometrial-ablation-hysterectomy-alternative-or-trap/ While hysterectomy should end the pain, it has a whole other set of negative effects especially in the long-term. Do you think you may be near menopause? If so, maybe you can wait it out? If not, I wonder if continuous birth control pills (taking the active pills continuously so you don't have a "period") would stop the pain. I do recall some women posting somewhere that a "cocktail" of supplements helped.
1043568 tn?1253450188 I am 54 years old and I was still pretty regular before the Tamoxifen. My gynecologist is recommending that I get a radical (abdominal) hysterectomy since I am still having periods. I had a D&C last year and had a benign polyp removed. Just had a trans-vaginal ultrasound 2 weeks ago and everything was fine.
Avatar n tn Dear lynnet, Whether a plan/carrier covers or denies services outside your state of residence depends on the reason why it is necessary to seek services outside your state. For instance this is not a big issue if you live close to the state line & the border town of the neighboring state has bigger & better facilities. Another example is when some providers in another state offer a course of treatment (for a condition) that is proven to have better results.
Avatar f tn And the way your hysterectomy was done would be important for guidance in terms of recovery time and if they did anything else such as any bladder work which is not uncommon during hysterectomy surgery. Anyway, I'd give your doctor a call. But lifting is a no no for a while. Exercising is good to do starting slow especially walking or whatever cardio you like. And in terms of abdominal crunches, has it been 4 to 6 weeks?
405614 tn?1329144114 Im in Indiana & know that MRI's can cost any where from $300 to $5000. It depends what all they are going to scan (head, neck, back), if they will be useing contrast, & if it is reg MRI or wide open. If insurence is an issue, talk to neuro about it, sometimes they will re-duce the cost. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn i would appreciate any information on these two conditions in which anyone has experienced thank you i have adhesions in my abdomen and may need a hysterectomy in the future. i also have an ovarian cyst which got smaller since last time they tested me. i am a postmenopausal woman.
Avatar n tn My gynoc is very well known in the field and is listed in many directories as one of the best in the country so I tend to believe him. He has 30 years of experience. But, this could be a question of which came first. I guess there's no telling whether I had the cells first and the mass developed after, or vice versa. To Teresa's point, how was the cyst removed? Could some cells have sloughed off during the surgery?
Avatar n tn and curious, why just the ovaries?? I had a total abdominal hysterectomy in January and am still recovering from that. You should be writing down all your questions and take them with you to the doctor, so that you can ask the doctor and also write down the answers. Good luck!
1310633 tn?1430224091 (Reuters) - School teachers in Texas are flocking to free firearms classes and hundreds more in Ohio have signed up for training in the wake of the Connecticut elementary school massacre, some vowing to protect their students with guns even at the risk of losing their jobs. In Ohio, more than 900 teachers, administrators and school employees signed up for the Buckeye Firearms Association's newly created, three-day gun training program, the association said.
Avatar n tn I also had a abdominal hysterectomy on the 13th of August, with a lot f bleeding and pain afterwards. My hemoglobin was tested and it was low. I then was sent for a catscan to find out that I have hematoma. That is all I was told. Now I am in pain and wondering when it is supposed to get better?
Avatar n tn I have also read that many ectopic pregnancys result in an abdominal pregnancy and can result in a live birth. A recent article posted by the New England Journal of Medicine reported an abdominal pregnancy after hysterectomy though it was terminated at 12 weeks. Does this open the possibility of having children for women that had to have a hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn Sorry you are in pain. I do know that you can have endo tissue migrate to the bowel even after a hysterectomy. A 2 cm simple cyst like that on the ovary is perfectly normal, don't worry. A rectal abcess can be very, very painful. Are they treating you with anything? Steroids or antibiotics? Special diet? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Sorry for the late response. Surgical positioning can cause back as well as leg pain and problems. I'm curious what type of hysterectomy you had - robotic, laparoscopic, abdominal, vaginal? Has the back pain improved?
Avatar f tn i got my tubes tied in 2006, a day after my daughter was born.in 2005, i started having severe abdominal pains.ive had laparascopies, ultrasounds and mri done, and they keep saying nothing is wrong. i ahve also been having painful intercourse for 10 years. the pain is always located on the left side in my abdomen. atarting in march 2008, i started to bleed during sex, after sex and me periods atarted to become irregular. iwent from a period every 21 days for 5 days, to only last 3 days.
Avatar f tn I have no medical insurance and I have an agressive cataract in my right eye that has made me legally blind in that eye. Does anyone know what the range of actual cost of cataract surgery sans insurance payments is. It would be mono focal and only the one eye. Any information would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Had a hysterectomy 7yrs ago. did not remove ovaries or fallopian tubes. Starting to have lots of pelvic pain again. Will I have to have them removed eventually?
Avatar n tn I am not sure where they put the drainage tube, as it is not a common practice any longer to use those! Was it placed in the vaginal cuff? Or was it brought out through the abdominal skin? I do not commonly use a drainage tube when I do hysterectomies. I would certainly not leave one in place if I did. Is it sutured in? Are the waiting for the sutures to dissolve? If I were you, I would seek another opinion and have the tube removed!
