On the basis of this cardiologist advised to get CT coronary angiography. The result of the CT coronary angiography as given below:
1.Eccentric calcific in the RCA and distal LAD causing mild (20-30%) luminal narrowing.
2. No evidence of hypo perfusion or perfusion defects in the resting first pass myocardial enhancement.
Now our cardiologists has advised to get catheter angiography to rule out further.
Please advise me what should me my course of action.

• Normal bifurcating vessel.
Left Anterior Descending Artery:
• Tight proximal stenosis with total occlusion after diagonal branch. Dista LAD is normal but ends short of apex. A fair sized diagonal branch shows generalized diffuse disease.
Left Circumflex Artery:
• Moderate proximal stenosis with mild distal disease.

CT angiograms will expose you to a small amount of radiation. If you have known coronary artery disease, a traditional coronary angiogram may be a better option, since you can also receive treatment for your artery blockages during a traditional coronary angiogram. Since you are symptomatic but do not have known coronary artery disease, you can go ahead with the CT scan, based on these findings further therapy can be planned. Regards.

my father who went in for a bypass last feb'2009 has been advised to go in for a CT Angiography after certain changes were visible in his tmt......he had already undergone a thallium stress test before.....cud someone please tell me if ther are any differences between the 2 tests....and which one wud be better at this stage.......
Can doctor rely on results from ct angiography for by-pass syrgery. Or for by-pass surgery catherter angiography is must. The discussions here are very valuable for me.

Right coronary artery is dominant.LEFT CORONARY SYSTEM
Left main – Absent. LAD and LCX are directly arising from left coronary sinus.
LAD – Stent is seen in mid LAD. There is intimomedial thickening in proximal LAD with eccentric calcified plaque causing mild luminal narrowing. Rest of the LAD is normal in caliber and outline.

He undergone Angiography a couple of days ago and the report said that the Right Coronary Artery is 100% blocked. According to the Cardiologist, who performed Angiography, the blockage is old. But, my father has no pain (Angina), no fatigue and other common symptoms of Coronary Artery Disease. He’s perfectly alright. Also, his Left coronary artery is completely Normal and another Non-Dominant artery is 30% blocked, but, other parallel branches are normal.
The gold standard is coronary angiography. I think you should undergo coronary angiography after the excision biopsy as you’ll also be assured if the coronary angiography comes out to be normal.

If you did not do a Stress Test, where the electrical activity of your heart was monitored while you were under physical stress and the heart rate (and presumably the ectopics as well) were elevated, consider asking your Doctor if a Stress Test might be advisable.

My BP is normal . Non diabetic.
To what extent would an angiogram be capable of picking up coronary atherosclerosis that would tend to go unnoticed by a nuclear stress test? Would an angiogram offer greater risks than a stress test? How great would that additional risk tend to be?
