Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
980510 tn?1282010946 Lisa, I am not sure as I was trying Pilates and yoga with my DD prior to my surgery and some of the positions can put a strain on ur neck......as Carolyn mentioned, be aware of ur neck and see if there r things u can do with out that strain. In fact, Carolyn suggested that stretching works so well for her the past few days I too am stretching, but , not in ne positions that would put strains where I can not tollerate. I am working on my legs....lol....and will slowly work my way up....

Avatar m tn Knowing more about POP could help you to be even more comprehensive in your yoga teaching and may well have helped you to to be able to stay on your feet more with mindful movement and attention to your core so you could already have reaped some of the benefits of your yoga training and be able to help others as well with your teaching. Good luck with your operation and let us know how you get on.

522699 tn?1250590716 He might start you up with some gentle exercises that help keep muscles moving and speed the recovery process. Some of the exercises used to strengthen the back include stretching and walking. Yoga is another mild method to develop proper posture and muscle balance. However, you should discuss all these options with your doctor and only start exercising under proper medical supervision to prevent any damage and for maximum benefit. Do write in about your progress. Regards.
1306047 tn?1333243591 Hello. Ten years ago I was diagnosed with calcium deposits and a bit of degenerative disc in my L4/L5. Through yoga I've been able to beat 95% of the pain, but never the stiff, lack of mobility feeling. My pain is almost never muscular although self massaging the lower back muscles does help with the pain when it gets bad. Recently I got health insurance after forever and had X-rays done. My doctor said there appears to be nothing wrong.
405614 tn?1329144114 re here until Saturday morning. We still have to check out the Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and whatever else we have the time and energy for. Oh, we passed Red Rock Canyon on the way back from Cripple Creek and need to visit it; lovely red rocks in interesting formations, different from Garden of the Gods, I think. We were too tired to stop that day. I've checked in with my catsitter to see how Fluffy's doing, and he seems OK, so I'm relieved.
Avatar f tn Anything else hurts my stomach. Walking and yoga is really good! Just be safe and research the positions- maybe visit with a prenatal yoga instructor so you know hands on what's best.
Avatar f tn prenatal yoga, anything low impact and nothing where u work out ur abdomen muscles
Avatar f tn My first pregnancy was like that, started getting back pain around 5-6 months and it lasted until my son was 2. I honestly recommend yoga. It only takes 30 mins couple of times a week and you don't have to do anything complicated. Try pregnancy yoga for now and switch to regular after giving birth.
Avatar f tn Yoga is very relaxing and makes you sweat a lil. So that helps.
Avatar f tn Yoga has been shown to be very useful for flexibility and spasticity. The mental aspect of yoga meditation is also shown to help with our mental health and cardiovascular system. Yoga, if I am remembering correctly, is the #1 recommended form of exercise for MSers. It is a great form of exercise and although it won't return you physically to where you were before, it iis definitely helping you in many ways.
Avatar n tn I have the same type of saddlebags....... my favorite exercise is yoga. Yoga is great for strengthening and lengthening the muscles. Try "The Biggest Loser - Yoga for Weight Loss"; it will give you an excellent work out and will work on those saddlebags. I think that's the one exercise I've done, that really worked.
Avatar f tn Mango, pineapple and kiwi will not start labor. Pineapple had an enzyme some people believe may cause contractions but you'd have to eat 7 to 10 whole pineapples with skin and core to get the amount they think you'd need. Mango and kiwi do not have that enzyme. Bouncing on a yoga ball does nothing. A yoga ball is used one labor had already begun to sit you in an up right position that helps move baby down. Until your body is ready, the best thing to do is relax.
Avatar f tn the curve to about 4 different brands of hearing aid to see which one would help compensate the best - hence my Oticons. As for your balance, do not give up! Take some Pilates and/or Yoga classes to build up your core strength and master basic poses to help you gain balance. I have a terrible balance problem which has been vastly improved with exercise. Good luck to you!
Avatar m tn You can't restrict your calories too much or you won't have enough to live on. 1200 calories is not enough for most people. You need to calculate your actual calorie needs, based on your current height, weight, age and activity level. Talk to your doctor about yoga -- it's moves are very low impact and you have to be aware of how you do them. Yoga centers on building core strength, breathing and relaxation. It can help you build muscle, lose weight and regain lost movement.
1207048 tn?1282174304 Being born in asia, Yoga is a everyday of my life until i left the country. It helped me stay in fit. even after i quit doing it, i was fluctuating between 116 lbs & 118lbs for over 20yrs(did ran marathon for 12yrs while not doing yoga). just last 10yrs, i've gained almost 40lbs with steroids from asthma treatments. So i would say yoga does helps you stay fit especially mentally.
Avatar n tn Ive always done whatever workouts I did before prior to being pregant up until about the 2nd trimester, as long as I had the energy for it. Strong abs really help during labor. But you shouldnt be laying on your back after around the 2nd trimester anyway. Some suggestions are on the exercise ball or plank holds because it strengthenes your core. But you have to keep it mild, no straining. Anytime you feel strained, stop.
