Avatar f tn These two exercises 2 to 3 times a day will help strengthen my core to prepare for workouts after week 8. Just light strength training before then. But yes...always listen to your body.
1285110 tn?1420147378 We just got a workout video that breaks up workouts like you have Tigerlily. There is a 15 min arm, 15 core, & 15 leg workouts. At the moment we have a roatating schedule planned that goes something like Day 1: arms & core Day 2: core & legs Day 3: legs & arms & then repeat. Should be interesting to see how it works. We can't keep up with the whole routines yet, but we try. The arm routine is a lot of tricep, chest, shoulder, upper back, & even more triceps.
Avatar n tn There are certain modified ab workouts you can do during pregnancy that are good to do, working out your core is not a bad thing, and you will be using those muscles for labor. You can look up core exercises while pregnant and find them. It is important to ok it with your doctor too though. Sit ups are not recomended.
Avatar n tn Circuit training burns 30 percent more calories than typical weight training workouts. You can easily do circuit training workouts at home or at the gym on your own. Workouts last 30 to 45 minutes each and use either dumbbells, resistance bands or just your own body weight as a resistance. You're doing a series of exercises one after another in a circuit without taking any breaks in between the exercises.
Avatar f tn I'm looking for someone to follow on IG, FB, or email, books, anything to keep a fit pregnancy. Things like exercises, strain levels, core work, heart rates, weight management.
Avatar n tn With my first pregnancy I had low placent, n my pregnancy was high risk. Thats why I decided to quit my Insanity program, because I need to hear from my doctor that everything is fine n normal.
Avatar f tn Marathoners benefit from a higher carbohydrate load, says Running Planet. Where you are in your training plan also influences a runner's diet. If you are in the long-run stage of training for a marathon or ultra marathon, you will need more calories and carbs. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, unsaturated fats and low-fat dairy. No processed foods they have extra sodium, sugar and fat and doesn't offer nutrition to working muscles.
1292438 tn?1276120904 Before you do any rotational exercises, brace your abs forcefully—as if you’re about to be punched in the gut—and hold them that way as you do the movement. This limits your range of motion and helps to keep you from rotating excessively at your lower spine. Abs: Mountain Climber with Hands on Swiss Ball The benefit: It’s one of the simplest yet most effective ways to tighten your tummy. In fact, you’ll barely have to move a muscle.
Avatar f tn Use the exercise ball to do crunches for your abs, planks for your core and shoulder bridge exercises to work your butt and hamstrings. If you don't want your office to be filled with exercise equipment or you can't invest the cash, do planks and pushups for your upper body, lunges and squats for your lower body, and crunches such as the bicycle crunch and reverse crunch for your core.
Avatar f tn I am 6 weeks pregnant. I would like to go for my usual gym workouts. What exercises are safe for my sweet little unborn child?
Avatar n tn Well, if you're running, you're already doing great. There are a million videos you can look at for free on YouTube for dumbbell routines. If you need heavier bells -- one weight isn't usually enough, as some exercises are just easier than others and need more weight -- one purchase of them might come with a whole set of exercises to do with them if you buy from certain places.
Avatar f tn Cardio is good while pregnant, I also do leg workouts and arm workouts, I don't do any core workouts because it's not like my belly is going to get any smaller. Lol just don't do any heavy lifting and tell your doctor all the exercises you're doing.
Avatar n tn I have eliminated any kinds of ab workouts, I do a quick simple arm and leg routine and then do 2o min on my elliptical. Some days I am all full of energy and have to remind myself that I set a time limit for a reason. Other days, I don't feel like doing anything! My lil workout is how I end the day. The kids are in bed, so is my so. I clean then I take my workout as some me time. Then shower and bed. Lol, it is almost 1am and I am still trying to convince myself to just do it.
1448446 tn?1284774417 well then are there any exercises that will help tone up my stomach quickly. i feel like i tried a bunch of workouts for awhile and none of them got me the results i wanted....at all. so i'm kinda big on workouts that will show me results FAST...help!!
Avatar f tn I have 2 young kids. My question is...I would like to be running or doing some intense workouts to work my core, but I'm not sure what is safe. I have had 2-csections, 1-hysterectomy(2009-when I kept on w/ the IB). I am not overweight at all, but would still like to work on my core & just be "healthy". Any suggestions since sit-ups & lifting anything heavier than a milkjug is a "No" for me. I can't even pick up my kids anymore.
Avatar f tn If you have that much time for your workouts, try doing cardio AND strength training in each session. Even though you are probably huffing and puffing during your workouts (which is because you are working large muscle groups) what you are doing is "anaerobic". Here's what I am thinking. When you work out a muscle group, say, quads (when you do squats or lunges), you are not supposed to work that muscle group the next day. You should rest at least 1 day in between.
Avatar f tn Aerobic or cardiovascular exercises help burn off fat, but strengthening exercises tone and firm muscles. Do ab-specific exercises like the Plank and bicycle crunches; along with Yoga and Pilates to help tone and tighten your core. Perform your toning exercises every second day; or yoga every day. You have to create a calorie deficit in order to burn fat. Cutting 500 calories a day is good; but never drop more than a 1000 calories from your diet.
Avatar n tn the next time, maybe bike or swim for 30-45 mins and then 30 mins of lower body strength exercises. some days, just focus on strength training while others only strictly on cardio activities. whatever it is, be sure you mix it up. and most importantly, give yourself rest days. it doesn't hurt to have 1-2 rest days in between exercise days. good luck!
Avatar f tn Lightened my weights, stopped jumping and am moving my an workouts to just core stuff with body weight. Definitely not pushing myself hard like I uses to. I suggest Keeping your exercise moderate.
Avatar n tn Also, does anyone know what are the best types of exercises for aerobics, building strength, core and ab work are that will not make a prolapse worse and may help improve one? My GYN also said if I lost about 20 lbs that would help my prolapse resolve some too (I gained 80 lbs with my last pregnancy and I am 9 weeks PP and still have 50-6-0 lbs to lose).
Avatar n tn To lose thigh fat and build size in your butt, your workout should include both cardiovascular exercise and weight training. It’s not possible to target your thighs for fat loss. If you exercise regularly and make changes to your eating habits, as your body fat percentage decreases, you’ll see improvements everywhere, including your thighs. Cardio will help you increase the number of calories you burn to help your fat loss.
