Hi all,
I posted a while back because I had been tolerating my husband's anger and verbal abuse for so long, that I lost my self esteem and began to believe everything was my fault. I finally found my spine and stood up to him and we both have began individual counseling. I am still learning how to be assertive and he now regards me as "too dangerous to deal with" so now he doesn't interact with me at all.
I've got the divorce papers filled out, I just need him to agree to sign them, because I would like to file them as jointly because I heard it goes more smoothly than filing single. What would be the best most calm way to approach him to sign the papers as joint. I was thinking about having my parents and his sit down with us to have him sign them. To keep a calm environment. Since I'm afraid he'll lash out and refuse to sign the papers or tear them up.

Joe, for what its worth....if my kid was recovering from suregery and my mother was willing to baby sit, I'd really prefer she do it at my house. It is the surroundings that your child is most familiar and comfortable with. I'd break that news to my mother.... 'Look Mom, we appreciate you looking after jr., but can you come over here to watch him? He is recovering from surgery and we just want him to be as comfortable as possible. , your son was adopted by someone else) without you understanding that was what the papers were for, and if they will not produce copies of the papers that supposedly did that, in your shoes I would talk to an attorney and explain that this adoption seems fradulent and you think it is. Your attorney can at least get the papers and see if they are legitimate, and also can make a case in court that you didn't know what the papers were for, if they do indeed sign over your rights to your son.

i can honestly say if my husband ever cheated i would sign the divorce papers that day because it means he doesnt love me, he could offer me all the things in this world that i wanted it wouldnt matter it does not make it ok to have an affair just because he offers you things..................................

Married 30yrs seems I cant do this anymore is he bipolar? He won't go 2 a dr. meanwhile family, kids, and me, friends are all paying a price of trying 2 get along & I'm so tired of covering for him making up excuses! I recently learned that my wife has started drinking again after 10 years of sobriety. She is a high level professional and historically a high functioning alcoholic. You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc. but do yourself a favor and when they set child support immediately go to your child support office and have all checks go through state that way he and you is protected.
First...thank you ladies for all the feedback. Update: I did tell my lawyer that I'm pregnant and that it's not my soon to be ex husbands. My lawyer wrote up the settlement and cleverly noted that I'm pregnant ...not with his child and in a way that my ex won't know that I'm expecting. It's legal and my ex won't find out through the divorce papers or at all if I can help it. I did all that worrying for nothing and you all are great for the support!!!
d be handing him divorce papers so fast it would make his head spin...then he go have as many sexual partners as he wants. but he sure as heck won't be sleeping with ANY other women besides me. that is a big no no no no no no!!! (and it's NOT normal, i don't know ANYBODY who is fine with their s/o having sex with someone else.
