I can call the copaxone folks in another hour but thought I'd float this question to the group too.... I'm leaving for a week in FL (first time travelling since starting copaxone) and wondering what is the protocol for travelling with sharps - do I take my whole sharps container with me? in my checked back or carryon? any other tips for a new traveler?

No, fish oil needs no refrigeration if it's in gel caps. It's the flax seed oil that needs the refrigeration.

Any advice on getting Copaxone through security or dealing with AFOs and heavy duty knee braces? Is is difficult to get the airline to have a shuttle to get you from gate to gate? THANKS! ANY travel advice would be greatly appreciated!

But, specifically the guidance says "Room temperature storage up to 30 days, if refrigeration is unavailable" Note: if refrigeration is unavailable Personally, I feel this does not include varying room temperatures and I would not advise anyone to leave it out in hi (hot) temperatures. But, that's my personal opinion. Would only feel comfortable to do something like that if I knew the temperatures at which the forumula/medicine would change.

I am sorry things didnt work out for you with Copaxone. If it were not for all the injection site reactions, I think the Copaxone would have worked well for you.

The lactation specialist at my hospital said it's good for 12 hours no refrigeration. 36 hours refrigeration. 1 month in the door of a normal freezer. 3 months in a deep freeze.

I held my own for myself about 6 months ago. As to Avonex vs. Copaxone--My doc too said just pick. I picked Copaxone because I too didn't want to have flu symptoms, I liked the relative portability without worrying too much about refrigeration, and also the liver issue.

t go away after being off the Copaxone we decided the two were unrelated and I started taking Copaxone again, last night was my first injection after the break. My question is - last night I woke up feeling like I had the flu, I was sweating, ached all over and had a massive headache. I know these are side effects of the interferons but has anyone had this while on Copaxone? I had no reaction like this the first few weeks I took Copaxone.

It would be difficult to prove hallucinations were a side effect of copaxone, based on those very small numbers. There are no withdrawal symptoms from going off copaxopne.

because this study, like many others, was supported by the drug co. that developed, produces, markets and distributes Copaxone. So I guess we take the info with a grain of salt, and hope that the study was designed appropriately and objectively, and that results are reported accurately and ethically. If so, and the encouraging results are repeated in future studies, then it really would be great news for Copaxone users.

I have never heard of this side effect from copaxone and not sure how it could effect your cycle. Anyway, I had a hysterectomy way back when so I couldn't have this symptom regardless. Sorry.

Did they tell you that you had optic neuritis? That was my first flair as far as we know. I've had it 3 or 4 times. I don't remember. I went on prednisone a few times and it worked every times. Lately, for the past few months off and on, I've been having jumpy vision. It gives me pretty bad migraines. I get migraines very easily so I'm on daily meds for that as well. It seems to work well but it doesn't stop the things that trigger my migraines.

Hello, I am sorry that I am saying this, I was pre-diagnosed with ms that was recently confirmed not ms. I am sorry that I had the news that most of you reading this will not hear. However I had accepted the diagnosis and was prepared,to move forward with my newly found life. And as a result almost a year of injection copaxone treatment ms that I don't know what to do with. I hate to throw it away but am not sure if I have another choice. Does anyone know of any other options?

Started my Copaxone on May 24 and it was fine and had no pain to speak of injecting.

Hi Ali. I can tell you my experience with Copaxone. I was just diagnosed in Dec of 07. I haven't been on any other MS med. I was put on Copaxone. In those 3 months I struggled with depression, sleeplessness, gained 10 lbs and had terrible dark circles under my eyes. It completely changed my personality. I took myself off it and finally after 2 weeks am starting to feel like myself again and have dropped the weight and the circles under my eyes are gone.
