1040373 tn?1273687488 Sorry, I spoke to soon - This is listed in the prescribing information: -------WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS------- TECFIDERA may cause lymphopenia. A recent CBC should be available before initiating treatment with TECFIDERA. A CBC is recommended annually, and as clinically indicated. Consider withholding treatment in patients with serious infections. (5.1, 6.1) So, appears your blood will be drawn for CBC (at least) and anything else your doc wants if you have no recent draws for this.

Avatar f tn Diagnosed over a year ago w/ MS. Was allergic to Copaxone & placed on beta-interferons three months ago. Pre-hypertensive condition has now escalated to high blood pressure routinely. Within last week, waking BP has been 158/109, 143/104, 139/100 despite having lost weight. Concern over possible prescribing of BP meds. Know that family history shows adverse effects from cholesterol-lowering statins. What BP meds will work?

739070 tn?1338603402 8) To top it off I called my MS neuro today since the last 5 injections of Copaxone have caused 3 inch x 3 inch hematomas. He told me to stop the Copaxone for a month and then restart. If symptoms continue , I'll have to change meds. BP doc and I went through all my meds and the other possibilities are my diuretic (Bumex) or my Trileptal. My pharmacist thought it was the Trileptal. Any one else have any experience similar to this?

373640 tn?1204549791 I never got to the stage of being a Doc of Chem just a master, but my Son is a Doc of Chem so he has more info than me. Anyway getting to the point here, it appears that Copaxone is the cheapest form of drug - it CAN give flu like symtpoms, but Teva will not list it in side effects - reason unknown, but I guess we can all take a good idea why. Anorexia is also listed.
900662 tn?1469390305 Johnny, it looks like you've got plenty of links to go through! I wanted to share my personal experience with you, since you're considering what to take. I started out on Copaxone. What I didn't realize is that your neuro should monitor you, and every relapse you have should be reported to the doctor. I didn't report every one of mine, but I noticed that when I did report one, he didn't write it down.
398059 tn?1447945633 Are you looking for information about what it means to have an MS lesion in the spine and was it's implications are? Avatar f tn Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.
Avatar n tn My friend reduced her dose of Copaxone to 10mg instead of 20, a day about a month ago to try and save money. I told her I thought that was playing with fire and she might come to regret it down the road. Will this hurt her in the long run or is half a dose sufficient? She's been on Copaxone for at least 5 years.
Avatar f tn I called the MS nurse at shared solutions and apparently even after a year Copaxone can cause this so I was to call MS clinic as that is the prescribing doctor. I am waiting for a callback. It seems weird to me that while taking 2 different allergy pills I'd even get an allergic itch, but I'll see what he says.
Avatar f tn I looked at all 4 of the CRABs and their prescribing information. The interferon betas function as an anti-inflammatory and are thought to improve the blood brain barrier. This makes some kind of sense since interferons are a subclass of cytokines (a molecule that provides external signals to cells.) One of the cells cytokines communicate with immune cells. Because cytokines have some control over immune responses, they are classed as immunomodulators. [Wikipedia contributors.
