Copaxone missed dose

Common Questions and Answers about Copaxone missed dose

copaxone

382218 tn?1341181487 Heather is right. It is no big deal. Your immune system will not even blip over a single missed shot. It is the rare human being that does not forget a med now and then. Since Copaxone works it way up to being effective over several weeks and looses its effectiveness over weeks also, then you can see that a dose missed won't undo its effectiveness.. Rest easy and pick it right back up. Different case with high blood pressure meds, heart meds, birth control pills, and others.
Avatar f tn I am excited that there are trials going on to verify the efficacy of copaxone if it is taken in a double dose every other day. Would we all feel better then if we could skip a day? Hang in there, this really is our best chance that we'll be given for now to keep this MonSter at bay.
620048 tn?1358018235 I know they have looked at different way to dose Copaxone - including reducing the amount and another study that looked at going to an every other day injection. I was thinking that neither of those worked out in the studies, but I may be remembering that incorrectly. I'm going to a copaxone sponsored talk this week and will ask that question if I remember.
Avatar m tn I am on Tecfidera 240 mg dose. It just occurred to me I missed the morning dose. I have a call into the specialty pharmacy for direction. I didn't find much on the web except "take it as soon as you remember and if close to your next dose take it then but don't double up". This is the first time I missed since starting therapy last month. I feel terrible. Is this incredibly bad?
427555 tn?1267553158 If someone missed synthroid for 4 days, is it ok to take all the missed doses together? A friend went away and forgot their synthroid medication at home.
Avatar f tn Do I still take the ribavirin pills since I missed the dose? After 4 weeks I was tested and no virus was showing so I am worried that this is going to be a set back. I am anemic as well. Just need to know what to do??? Hep clinic closed for weekend as is doc office and pharmacist had no clue. Anyone been through this?
382218 tn?1341181487 yikes! poor you! I giggled at your name though... that's how I feel. What I read about your drug is that missing a dose is ok and never double up what you've missed. Sadly, you are in a tight spot so to speak with being stranded and all! The drug itself is designed to help repair etc and what I've read from other users of that drug is that they suffered no ill effects from missing a dose or two. Best of luck...!!
1936411 tn?1333831849 Hey! I've missed you guys! I hope y'all are doing well. I know I could print the pages (I could also photocopy the book), but I'm whining because I don't want to have loose pages and I really liked what I had last year. It worked well for me! You all are right though. It's really not that big of a transition. I suppose I'll survive ;P I'd be willing to bet Teva's going to try to use this whole 3-per-week thing to save money and snag more market share.
198419 tn?1360242356 You just stole the post I was going to throw out there a few days ago. That's ok, I forgot to do it and then it seemed silly. But.... I have daily injections and you would think they are hard to miss except for one thing, I wait till the end of the day and more than half asleep and in bed when I finally remember I hadn't done my injection. There have been a few occassions, problably more than I admit to SS where I just rolled back into bed and decided I wasn't going to do it.
Avatar f tn Ok, so I took the Tylenol and the atarax and was asleep in 30 minutes and slept the rest of the day. Missed the copaxone shot altogether! The neurologist said she had other patients with this reaction to copaxone. Called Shared Solutions and they were baffled and said that is not a copaxone reaction. I reported the event to the FDA. I have not taken an injection since, needless to say. Cannot afford to sleep my life away or have flu for 15 hours out of ever 24.
Avatar f tn so i missed my dose of rivoferion last night fell asleep noticed this morning that i didnt take it. so nov.11th is is my last dose,by missing this dose did i just screw up my tx.i sure hope not!!!! and this is the first x.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear that Copaxone did not work out for you. I am on Copaxone and notice the lumps too. I did not have the lumps until I started to use the auto-injector, so I have gone back to self-injecting. As to the Avonex or Rebif. These are Interferons and if you have a propencity towards depression, I caution you that you may want to be followed closely if you decide on either of these drugs. They have been known to cause depression in those that are susceptible to depression.
198419 tn?1360242356 She asked if I ever got tired of giving myself the injections and if I ever missed a dose. Told her yes I did get tired of it but like anything we have to do, like brushing teeth, you push through it and NO I never missed a dose. She asked if the medicine was "working". Told her that was a really good question which I couldn't answer b/c if working, you have no relapses (or a lot fewer).
Avatar n tn My friend reduced her dose of Copaxone to 10mg instead of 20, a day about a month ago to try and save money. I told her I thought that was playing with fire and she might come to regret it down the road. Will this hurt her in the long run or is half a dose sufficient? She's been on Copaxone for at least 5 years.
7463086 tn?1391008763 Just read that the FDA has approved Copaxone to be given at a higher dose 3 times a week as apposed to a lower does every day. This med is one that I was considering starting for treatment. Does anyone have any thoughts or informationabout the dosage or even the medication?
1084398 tn?1277304810 The Copaxone rep called me yesterday to discuss my refills. I have some questions that maybe some of you can answer. She asked me if I was was still taking Copaxone or a different MS drug with Copaxone, or instead of Copaxone. In the 8 months I've been on Copaxone, I've never been asked this question before. I know the new pill is out, but is anyone here taking the new medicine? and if so... does it work, do you like it? why did you choose to take this?
352007 tn?1372857881 Well, my new Neurologist was sitting on the fence with the MS diagnosis (probable) -- until the rectal spasms, bladder spasms, paresthesia in both legs (since January 11 - 24/7, everyday until today but still hopeful that they will go away), fecal incontinence x 5 (short bout of it but it hasn't happened again thank god, and a crossed knee adductor response (wtf is that) he finally hopped off the fence and gave me the definitive diagnosis of MS.
Avatar m tn just one missed dose will do nothing, i also remember tdf halflife is very long so even a missed dose is safer on this drug
Avatar n tn I missed taking my zoloft by 15 hours. (I'm supposed to take my 50mg at 12 midnight and I didn't remember until 3pm the next day). I took the missed dose at that time (3pm)....I JUST NOW relized that I should have just waited until tonight at 12midnight to take it. So, since I took it at 3pm, what should I do? If I take it at the scheduled time tonight then that would be 2 doses in just 9 hours. How do I get back on schedule of taking it at 12 midnight?
Avatar f tn No, if he missed a dose yesterday, then he missed that dose. Do not try to make it up today. Ribavirin has a long half life so his blood level should be okay as long as he does not keep missing doses.
Avatar m tn DO IT NOW...dont wait...BTW....im noticing my mouth feeling weird since i took the missed dose...and my lips are shedding some skin....nothing serious......it also maybe those salt and vinager chips i ate 2 days ago...o well...of to the employment office.....
577132 tn?1314266526 Yup. GB is right. It won't matter that you missed a dose. If you'd been in the first few weeks it might have made a difference, but not now. The official literature from Roche for Copegus says that if you remember on the same day, take the missed dose when you remember, otherwise consult your doctor. It's not bad advice. You could give your doc (or the nurse) a call.
