333672 tn?1273792789 Here is an interesting article that explains why generic interferons or Tysabri won't be cheap. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=fda-to-approve-new-generics Basically, they're biologic drugs and their production can't be reduced to a chemical formula and a mechanical set of steps. Because "biological drugs are manufactured in living cells, there can be tremendous variation in the drug molecules produced.
Avatar f tn Never reacted this way with other stings. Could it be my haywire autoimmune system or the copaxone I am on or my MS that exacerbated it? Welcoming any thoughts. Was diagnosed in Jan. I take a daily antihistimine. I think I will apply a hydrocortisone tonight. It is warm to the touch. No itch.
1637739 tn?1371688706 I have been taking Copaxone going on 5 months now. For the last 3, I have had the itchy lumps for a day or two after. I thought maybe they would get better but they really aren't. The PA at the neurologist office said they probably wouldn't. My question is this: Should I continue to tough it out or should I switch? I am curious from others if they have dealt with this and what they did about it. The itching isn't that bad, it's the lumps that bother me the most.
Avatar f tn 06/25/07 has diagnostic mammo with ultrasound mammo said 3-4 cm multiple tiny cystic structure birads 3. Avatar n tn The chemical compound potassium chloride (KCl) is a metal halide salt composed of potassium and chlorine. In its pure state, it is odorless and has a white or colorless vitreous crystal appearance, with a crystal structure that cleaves easily in three directions. Potassium chloride crystals are face-centered cubic. Potassium chloride is occasionally known as "muriate of potash," particularly when used as a fertilizer.
Avatar f tn Long term use of indomethacin can result in gastrointestinal adverse effects. Melatonin is a hormone secreted by pineal gland and is very similar in chemical structure to indomethacin without the risk of gastro intestinal side effects. That’s the reason melatonin is now being considered as an effective treatment option. Patients with history of severe allergies are advised not to take melatonin in general. Hope this answers your question!
Avatar f tn Yes. The contact lens material may have denatured somehow (changed its chemical structure). Also, if the seals look damaged, potentially the contact lenses have become contaminated. Might I suggest that you not take undue risks with your eyes by attempting to save money through buying your contacts in "a hot country" and having them shipped to you in a cooler one?
1331797 tn?1276142331 The sting never got better for me although I would still take Copaxone if I could. I thought Copaxone was bad until I had n injection for a blood thinner in my belly after surgery. That was the most painful shot I ever had.
554174 tn?1284031102 After three days my HPT started showing negative and i have been spotting eversince with this very strange very light brownish discharge. I went in for a TVS again and the doc saw a linear structure which she called blood instead of a sac. So she assumes that its a chemical pregnancy for me. My Beta test also showed 50 only today. So what does this mean? Am I surely not pregnant anymore? Should i loose all hopes for this time?
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a mammogram Aug 27th which that the small node I have had for years has grown. Two days later I had an ultrasound that shows a hypoechoic structure deep within the chest wall and has a hyperechoic notch to it with an appeappearance of a benign lymph node but does not correlate with the position of the mammogram. Given the findings of this ultrasound and enlargemnt of the density on the mammogram biopsy is recommended. My question is would you take it out completely?
Avatar m tn t know very much about the molecular structure. I find it a bit hard to understand, but I get pieces of it. This one seemed more concise then the the last one I sent you. - Dave http://www.natap.org/2001/jun/MoleBio.
1128565 tn?1316721143 Since it haves SNRI proprieties yes it can help but it is way less potent than Effexor and it's chemical structure is very different. The closest relative to Effexor is tramadol. I know Tramadol already been used for Effexor withdrawal due to their similarities. Tramadol possesses weak agonist actions at the μ-opioid receptor, releases serotonin, and inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine.
Avatar f tn Has anyone's partner had sperm chromatin structure analysis (SCSA) to test for fragmented sperm dna? My RE just suggested it. He said it can contribute to infertility even if the sperm analysis is normal. He also said it could contribute to chemical pregnancies and miscarriages. Wish he'd told me that sooner...
1045086 tn?1332126422 I'm wondering if a flair can hit mainly in a cranial nerve (I guess it does in TN) or group of cranial nerves and make life MiSerable. I've had several cardiac tests over the past week. So far they don't indicate any structure, vessel, or blood flow problems. They do repeatedly show 2:1 AV conduction block. This is becoming increasingly symtomatic with a feeling of fullness and pressure in my chest and some shortness of breath.
Avatar n tn I have had numerous EKGs Echo and holter not to mention blood test to check my thyroid and anemia. I am not sure which direction to go in because the structure of my heart seems to be ok. I also have costrocondritis (inflamation of the rib cage). I am wonedering if there is anything dangerous about my arrythmias if my heart is healthy? Can it be chemical or hormonal?
2078115 tn?1333926565 Is anyone here familiar with the somewhat recent studies that demonstrate copaxone significantly reduces brain atrophy and tissue loss, not to mention a reduction in theconversion of inflammatory lesions into black holes(possibly better repair)? What does/would this mean for cognitive dysfunction (concentration, learning, recall, memory)? Would this influence your choice of DMD?
1296863 tn?1272569635 I had a normal stress test (chemical) and normal 42 hr holter. Why is an echo cardiogram and cardioid artery gram being done This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/250959'>Validity of echocardiogram vs thallium stress test</a>.
Avatar f tn s action is very similar to some muscle relaxants, but it has a slightly different chemical structure. Do NOT take more than the recommended dose. I feel very uncomfortable giving you any advice regarding withdrawals because there simply is not a lot of good info out there about how they will affect you. Are you abusing them? How much are you taking in one sitting...in one day? This isn't what you probably want to hear, but if I were you, I'd talk to my doctor about it.
1983221 tn?1333506185 t go away after being off the Copaxone we decided the two were unrelated and I started taking Copaxone again, last night was my first injection after the break. My question is - last night I woke up feeling like I had the flu, I was sweating, ached all over and had a massive headache. I know these are side effects of the interferons but has anyone had this while on Copaxone? I had no reaction like this the first few weeks I took Copaxone.
1469703 tn?1372041476 //www.ehealthme.com/ds/copaxone/hallucinations,+mixed "On Aug, 31, 2013: 9,277 people reported to have side effects when taking Copaxone. Among them, 5 people (0.05%) have Hallucinations, Mixed." the most recent was one person in 2011. It would be difficult to prove hallucinations were a side effect of copaxone, based on those very small numbers. There are no withdrawal symptoms from going off copaxopne.
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if anyone else has had reactions to Copaxone? I have been taking it for over 5 months and one night after taking it in the thigh, I experienced the tightness of the chest, difficulty breathing, and my face turned bright red and felt like it was going to split apart. My DR said to reduce it to 1/2 a shot the next night and I didn't have another problem for 3 more weeks when it happened again. Coincidently, both times it occured when the injection was in the thigh .
1394131 tn?1280202869 This can alter the ordered release of hormones that regulate the maturation and release of an egg. IN addition to this, the concentrations of several important chemical messengers involved in reproduction change when our emotional states change. There is a direct link between the brain and the reproductive tract. Nerve fibers connect the brain directly to both the fallopian tubes and the uterus. The autonomic nervous system influence the ovary's ability to produce healthy eggs and hormones.
190673 tn?1259203266 t necessarily Lexapro to work just like Celexa. Though they share the same basic chemical structure, Lexapro has been altered, and many people do react to them differently.
382218 tn?1341181487 because this study, like many others, was supported by the drug co. that developed, produces, markets and distributes Copaxone. So I guess we take the info with a grain of salt, and hope that the study was designed appropriately and objectively, and that results are reported accurately and ethically. If so, and the encouraging results are repeated in future studies, then it really would be great news for Copaxone users.
Avatar m tn Drawing upon this experience in structure-activity relationships, we have learned that relatively small and selective changes to the chemical structure of the cyclosporine backbone can have very dramatic consequences in pharmacology,” commented Dr. Foster.
