- that makes them sound better, right? Between the copaxone and the ampyra and then throw in lipitor my monthly tab is exhorbitant. DH has his own set of pricey drugs, including lipitor and advair but mine definitely beat out his in cost. The insurance company must hate to see my bills. I am constantly thankful that I have good insurance, otherwise I would be either broke or really ill.

On my own a week ago, I stopped the lipitor and the lipitor only. For the first time in 5 yrs i have no more hives. Why is there not more articles published or side effects like mine posted for lipitor??? What is your feeling on the hives from Lipitor??

I have been taking Lipitor for the last 10 years and lately I have developed muscle pains. I was told the pain might be because of the Lipitor. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, the pain was much less however my cloestrol level was back to 290. I would appreciate any insight or suggestions.

There is much controversy about cholesterol, but it is muted because of pharmaceutical financial interests in statins. Half of those who die of strokes or heart attacks have no history of high cholesterol. DeBakey discounted cholesterol. My own doctor pays no attention to it. What is the true role of cholesterol and how should one proceed? I don't know, but I won't take Lipitor.

People taking lipitor are recommended to avoid alcohol in their diet because it raises the triglyceride levels, another lipid which is a risk factor for heart disease. Going to soft drinks would be far more beneficial for your body obviously but if this is impossible I would switch your lipitor to the mornings. Lipitor, unlike some statin drugs, can be taken any time of the day.

If hypothyrodism can cause high cholesterol is it not better to take thyorid hormone replacement than Lipitor?

I know that Lipotor can artiificially lower TSH and cause a false positive for hyperthyroidism.

Hi MY BACKRGROUND (AGE 56, HEIGHT 168 CM, 88 KILOS. 2002 Angioplasty for 70 percent blockage using catheritization (arm, Dr. Saito in Japan). No stent. 2006 no restenosis. 2008 Did CT scan radioactive dye and also no restenosis. Age: 56--> Regimen: Lipitor 5 mg, baby aspirin, fish oil (about 3-4 grams).

I stopped the lipitor 3 days ago and the pain in my legs has stopped and feet are some better. I go to the dr. soon so I will tell her. I have stopped the lipitor before for a few days and gotten back to normal.

m going thru my second round of IV steroids. I am supposed to start Copaxone tomorrow and am nervous about the side effects and if I should start it while going thru Steroid treatments. Any advice would be much appreciated!

had coiling embolisation done with stent due to an unruptured aneurysm on the right ICA. returned to hospital afterwards due to TIA symptoms and was given Lipitor as cholesterol level was borderline and given just to make sure that it is not causing the "mini-stroke". Hi and welcome, As far as i'm aware IV solumedrol and Copaxone are often being done together, i've never personally heard of specific interaction problems, usually the choices you get is to stay on Copaxone and do the IV Steroid (with or without oral taper) or stay on Copaxone and skip the Steroids if it's not a major relapse.

Hi all, My father had a triple by pass surgery about 18 months ago, and has been taking Lipitor, Perondopril and Atenolol. He's been getting abnormal hair growth on one side of his leg and back and chest since he's been on Lipitor, and Perondopril. my husband is on copaxone and his back hurts severely. also his hands hurt and he is having asthma type reactions. also he is having dizziness and frequency in urinating. eye problems as well. please tell me if anyone else is having these disturbing things.

Actually I haven't felt well for a very long time. I did see my PCP yesterday and we all agreed that the trazodone was the one med that was making me very sluggish.

Has he talked to a doctor about his symptoms, and has blood been drawn to determine if there are adverse reactions with the Lipitor? Like you, I pulled myself off of Lipitor (atorvastatin) because of muscle and joint weakness/pain and other recorded side effect. I had only taken it for about five weeks and the discomfort remains three weeks later. I had the same reaction to simvastatin, which I am told is the worst of the bunch. I'm waiting a few months and then I will try something with a less violent track record.
