Common Questions and Answers about Copaxone and anxiety

copaxone

1469703 tn?1372041476 ve seen a psychiatrist, and started group counseling to deal with the added frustration, irritability and anxiety, also for the mild hallucinations. My psychiatrist did some deep digging into Copaxone and believes that I'm having medicinally induced hallucinations and paranoia. But I really don't want to withdrawal off of this medication! Just looking to see if anyone has had any similar experiences? Hope everyone has a great week!!
704043 tn?1298056844 If you look back a page or two you will find several discussions on Copaxone and that specific side affect. Worth reading. I am sure you will find many, many answers on that particular thread. In the meantime, I would certainly give your Neuro a call to let them know what is going on. Perhaps a referrral to a cardiologist would help to rule in or out anything that is actually Cardio in nature versus side affect from the Copaxone.
Avatar m tn I have never had a flareup last this long and saw a web-sight where some had quit Copaxone because of the same reason and got better then resumed taking Copaxone and started the same symptoms. I have been off of the Copaxone for two weeks and have not gotten better therefore I am going to start taking it again. As far as how long it takes to be out of your system no one knows! Shared solutions and pharmacists don't know either.
Avatar f tn I was treated with solu-medrol IV for 3 days and now am having some rebound symptoms and a little anxiety. But my husband and I want to try to get pregnant in the next couple of months. I heard that some symptoms can almost disappear when pregnant. I am also on copaxone and my neuro said to stay on it until I find out that I am pregnant. I have read that you should stop using your meds when you start trying to get pregnant.
2288403 tn?1339564728 m going thru my second round of IV steroids. I am supposed to start Copaxone tomorrow and am nervous about the side effects and if I should start it while going thru Steroid treatments. Any advice would be much appreciated!
1896537 tn?1381900009 this type of reaction really sounds less like the Copaxone and more like anxiety. But as you know, I am no doctor or medical person of any kind. Since this has been non-stop thatdoes seem strange. There are some people who has the allergic reaction problem and I hope that you don't fall into that category Keep us posted how the follow up goes.
12832842 tn?1448728801 I have never heard of Copaxone causing sleeplessness. What you describe is more anxiety. You have a lot to be anxious about. It is normal to pay a lot to every little thing your body is doing right after diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, As far as i'm aware IV solumedrol and Copaxone are often being done together, i've never personally heard of specific interaction problems, usually the choices you get is to stay on Copaxone and do the IV Steroid (with or without oral taper) or stay on Copaxone and skip the Steroids if it's not a major relapse.
Avatar f tn Hi, I to am on Copaxone and have been for 4 months as well, and I can't say that I have gained weight... sorry, but I too watch calories all the time so have not noticed to much difference. Hope you can get to the bottom of it ...
Avatar n tn my wife of 3 years ( an ms patient since her mid 20s and is now 35) had stopped taking her copaxone consistantly for a little over 30 days. Her verbal and physical abuse came to a head when she hit me during a night of drinking. could the abusive behaviour be directly or indirectly associated with her not taking her medication?
400099 tn?1282954864 my husband is on copaxone and his back hurts severely. also his hands hurt and he is having asthma type reactions. also he is having dizziness and frequency in urinating. eye problems as well. please tell me if anyone else is having these disturbing things.

1149087 tn?1415316549 There are 4 DMDs that you might be prescribed, known as the CRAB drugs. These are Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex and Betaseron. The latter 3 are drugs of the type known as interferons, and interferons can cause depression in some (not most) patients. These 3 differ from one another in the manner and timing of injections, also in their strength, but their method of activity in the body is basically the same.
1028689 tn?1254441334 he immediately took me off Rebif for 30 days, and started me on Copaxone. Copaxone has had numerous studies and all the studies proved that Copaxone doesn't increase anxiety. I urge you to let you Dr. know about this as soon as possible, because Rebif continued to make my depression worse even with an increase in my anti-depressant. I was having very unhealthy thoughts and they just continued to get worse. Unfortunately with Copaxone the injections are daily.
420827 tn?1203354546 I went off the copaxone when I went into the hospital and have been off of it for almost 2 months now. How long does the copaxone stay in your system after you stop taking it? Anyone have low platelet counts?
1983221 tn?1333506185 I'll start with the bad - I started back on Copaxone and it's been H*LL! When I first used Copaxone it was a breeze, not issues whatsoever. This time the pain from the injections is extreme and I have fist size bruises all over my thighs and tummy! I hate it! The good news is I went to see the Optic Neurologist this week and she is wonderful. I've never met a Doctor who takes such care to make sure I understand everything that is happening to me.
Avatar f tn Ive been on Copaxone for 5 months now and 2 months in had a mild flair of symptoms then it went away. It was trigeminal neuralgia for 3 days then it went away for 3 days then I was hit with extreme fatigue for 3 days where I had to sleep. I developed jumpy jerky arms and legs but medication helped this.

Avatar f tn In Feb 08 I began taking Copaxone for MS. Shortly after I began using Copaxone, the right side of my tongue went numb. I initially stopped taking the Copaxone to see if it would resolve itself. It didn't and I continued with the Copaxone. The right side of my tongue is still numb, the numbness on the right side of my mouth has resolved mostly but now I have the most horribly dry mouth. I have tried everything--even so much as sucking on a mouth full of vinegar.
Avatar f tn Five days after first Copaxone shot, I developed SEVERE myoclonic head and arm tremors -- shudder like and serious depression and cognitive problems and emotional liability. These dystonic head tremors were constant (5x) causing my entire head and shoulders to shudder whenever I spoke. I looked like Ozzy Osborne meets Dory the forgetful fish from Finding Emo. I gave myself Copaxone each day for four and a half years. I also tried BOTOX in my neck to try to control the tremors.
Avatar n tn I'm curious how long it took for those on Copaxone for the welts and redness to lessen. I've been on Copaxone since June and it seems they are getting worse. The first two or so weeks I did not have much of a problem. Then I started to get large red patches/lumps on my arms. They can run the length of my back arm where I give my shots. Weeks later they started to get large on my legs (the size on my entire hand at times). Eventually they started to get large on my hips and abdomen.
