Yesterday morning around 7 15am I went into triage due to contractions, that were irregular but growing in intensity over a week. Midwife checked me and said that my cervix was short and soft and starting to thin, but no dilation. Ok fine. Then I go in last at about 11 30pm, with really intense contractions, to not be put on the monitor and then be put in quite a bit of pain, when the midwife (different one) decides to wiggle her fingers to reach my cervix.

Assuming everything goes well with my blood work I would be due the first week of September.

There's been 2 times my classmate calls me prego! I don't know why but I hate that word! I told her twice not to call me that! Preggers is also in my hate list lol. any words you hate?

I'm not to sure they say people get confused between Braxton hicks and contractions so I'm Guessing so but don't take me word on that.

If they've stopped they won't really know except by your word or if your cervix has changed, you may have been having strong Braxton hicks

I watched some moms blog video that had ten tips.. One of her tips was think of contractions like your pushing it out of your body, sounds weird but they only last about 30 seconds so to keep a positive mind and act as if the contractions were going through your head and out your feet... Hopefully when the day comes it'll be a lot easier done than said ahaha!

I'm doing ok. Last night I had some abdominal pains for about 2 hours that really scared me. I think I just overdid it at my kids ballgame last night. Once I finally got comfortable in bed & fell asleep, the pain subsided. It could have been contractions, b/c my tummy got hard during the painful episodes. Contractions at this point isn't uncommon from what I hear. I'm drinking plenty of water today to try and calm the uterus.

Last night around 7:30pm I started having horrible contractions. They weren't regular so I stuck them out and finally tried to get some sleep by taking a tylenol pm. I slept on and off through the night waking up every hr or so to go to the bathroom and was still contracting. When I woke up at 730 this morn I was still getting them but a bit more regular. I called my Dr and came to l&d to get checked. They told me I have still made No progression in 2wks...

I am interested in this response as well as I am experiencing the same thing my back is hurting so oooooo much! And I do feel contractions but nothing I can't handle. And increase in mucus discharge. I list my mucus plus about 10 days ago. If this is it I hope he waits till daddy is home from work. Since this is baby number 3 and I have no idea what back labor feels like I don't want to go in without knowing for sure... 36 weeks pregnant.

Sounds like your body is having practice contractions. I've been having mild contractions for five days and am 39+2 but it never builds into labor. When is your next appt? You can always mention it to your OB or MW when you get checked.
