contractions using will

My cervex is dilated to 1 1/2 and have been having really strong contractions. He put me on nifedical to stop the contractions and my question is...Will I continue to dilate even though i'm on the medicine or do contractions and dilating go hand in hand?

has anyone tried using castor oil? Or any other natural remedies to help induce labour naturally.. Don't want to have to be induced by the doctor.. Thoughts?

So my braxton hicks contractions have been going on for 3 or 4 days... every like hour or 2... will this stop anytime soon...

If your 38 weeks they will probaby let you keep having contractions. I went to the hospital with my first when I was 3 cm and told me to walk. So I did had contractions for 2 day then finally delivered.

Will you know when your contractions get stronger/closer? I didnt even know i was contracting until they hooked me up to a monitor today. Im 1 cm dilated and 38+5. Im scared that since i didnt notice these ones until earlier when i saw them, i wont know when to go to the hospital.

Now how to gage contractions. Touch the tip of your nose. Your belly will feel like this with and easy contraction. Now touch your chin, your belly will feel like this with a mild contraction. Now touch your forhead, your belly will feel like this with a good hard contraction. Braxton hicks can vary and you may feel them or you may not. Sometimes contractions feel like mentsrual cramps.

So I've been timing my contractions for the last while and they are about 60 seconds long 5 - 7 minutes apart. I expected them to be more painful though? And now my little guy has the hiccups. Did anyone else have these kind of contractions? They are tightening with back and abdominal pain. Even when I adjust positions they are continuing.

I was 38+3 already 5cm but was getting no contractions. I put 2oz of castir oil in a milk shake.. then went for a walk. Yes it made me poop and it made me get bad cramps. So after about 1 hour and a half after taking it i went to l&d i was getting contractions and they admitted me. I had my baby 40 mins later.That was my 3rd pregnancy. They admit you when you are in active labor. You probably won't teach 5 cm until then. They don't even want to see you until your contractions are consistently under 5 minutes apart. Bo's until you are in labor they don't keep you. They will stitch an incompetent cervix.

My due date was Sept 8, 2014 but my daughter was quite comfy so I got scheduled for induction on Sept 9. At 7:30am I was brought to the l&d room where they set up the monitors and everything. At 9:30 they started pitocin which didn't do much to help dilate me more I was already at 4cm. The contractions were more painful then i ended up being able to handle so i got the epidural. At noon the doc came in and broke my water which made me automatically go to 5cm.

You will know. Ur either going to start feeling contractions, or your water will break. Contractions feel different for everyone. Mine felt like really bad period cramps every 5 minutes. Also when ur in labor, some ppl have a really big bowel movement/diarrhea sry tmi lol but dont worry youll know something isnt normal when it comes.

Woman can be 1 to even 3-4cms dilated for weeks before they go into labor. Are you having other symptoms of preterm labor? Lots of contractions? I would listen as far as the bedrest goes, and take it easy. Good luck mama!

So how will i know im in labor? Im not scared at all of labor and i feel very at ease in my mind with the thought of it. Whats freaking me out is not knowing if i lost my plug or my water broke or if im having contractions. Basically im scared of going to the washroom and poping my baby in the toilet like that show 'i didnt know i was pregnant'. Thank you, any replies would be awesome! I am trying to progress labor as I'm 39 weeks and have been having contractions for 3 days. I'm so tired I was thinking about napping but since walking and gravity helps labor would napping delay it?
