Can you have contractions only on one side, or even braxton hicks contractions

Can you have contractions on just one side? I am having dull achy pain ony left side that spikes every 10 -15 minutes. Could this be contractions?

So since I haven't gotten many feed back on here like I do on babycenter I was wondering does anyone get cramps on only one side on your first trimester? Like I hadn't had them just yet and tonight I am having them cramps ok and off like contractions... But mild though. Is it normal?

I'm 12 weeks today and having really bad pains on my side. Is it normal? I have a 5 year old and don't remember anything like this.

really low and only on the left side, but definite tightening. Is it possible to only have it on one side?

They sound like normal pregnancy symptoms unfortunately... i have the same pain on my right side and the doctor said its just sciatic nerve pain. The only thing that helps me is a ton of pillows in all different positions until the pain is gone. Your body is just sore. You're almost there though!

I am 28 weeks pregnant, and have been getting sharp cramps on my right side the bast few weeks every once in a while. Last night I woke up with very painful cramping/ sharp pains in my right side and back. Hours later they haven't gone away but they are now a dull pain. I have a doctors appointment in a week. What could this be? Everyone keeps saying ligament pain but I just don't think that's it. Help please!!

They also had 2 give me Magnesium Sulfate ...they finally was able to stop the contractions and let me come home 2day. I am on bedtrest until I go back 2 c my doc next week.

32 weeks dose anyone feel like they have contractions on one side I have been feeling like i have them on the right side of my belly then I feel pressure sometimes the contractions feel like back pain also on the right side has anyone experience this?

Just curious if anyone else is on Procardia for contractions and if you are experiencing any side effects. I started this on Tues and I just looked up all of the side effects (my 1stmistake...lol) ... I thinkI am having every single side effect!!... I am having a very emotional day so maybe I am exaggerating.... anyone else???

I am getting close to my due date and have been having contractions the last couple of days just not consistant. Recently I got lke this pinching feeling when I was walking one time and another a side ache like pain with a lot of lower abdominal pressure to where it is uncomfortable to walk. Is this early labor starting or still just bh?

I'd call the doctor just to be on the safe side.

s heart rate dropped after a contraction so they had me lay back on left side, which made contractions get worse again. So they gave me a 2nd dose of meds and let me lay on right side. contractions stopped.. They checked me again and I am 1+cm dialated and 50%thinned. They got my test results back (trying to figure out y dizzy) something is going on with my kidneys and need further testing. There was a lot of blood and protein in my urine. So I am now on strict bed rest.

If you are able to time them than you are more than likely having contractions...if its a constant pain and water and laying on your left side or a bath doesn't give you any relief than definitely call your dr and if you can't reach him I would consider going to l&d to get checked.

Rocking back/ fourth and side to side seems to help. Just wondering what you ladies did to try and get some sleep with these!?

Is it normal to contract on only one side? The past few have just been on my right side and feel a bit more intense.

This is my third pregnancy and i have never experienced contractions on one side. Your whole stomach should be getting extremely.tight and hard(usually 3-5 minutes apart for an hour or more)That is a contraction which can be followed or accompanied by cramps and back aches.

Also on Saturday I put 3 vaginally , and felt cramps for a few minutes or so. The yesterday I inserted 2 at night. And today was 2.

Having reg contractions but not dilated enough to be admitted. To get through them I lay on my side and concentrate on breathing, also I sit on a yoga ball with my legs spread wide to release some pain and lean over resting my head and arms on my bed.

Through out my whole pregnancy I've been told to sleep on my left side because it's better for me and the baby. But my left hip keeps going numb and with my contractions the pain bolts down that leg also. Opinions? I need sleep!!

I had the same thing happen to me, I was having contractions on and off all this week. At first I thought they were braxton hicks but my doctor told me to call if I had more than 3 in an hour and if after drinking lots of water and laying on my left side didn't stop them. I was having several contractions in an hour but they were very light ... didn't hurt at all, my belly just felt tight and hard so I called and my doctor told me to head to hospital.

If it isn't painful, probably. Braxton hicks don't hurt. Try changing positions, laying on your side, walking, and drinking some water. Those things usually make BH go away, but wouldn't make preterm labor contractions stop.

So I'm 38 weeks pregnant today and I'm laying down right now on my left side And I'm getting sharp pains on my lower right side of my back and it kinda goes down my leg as well .. could those be contractions?
