I watched some moms blog video that had ten tips.. One of her tips was think of contractions like your pushing it out of your body, sounds weird but they only last about 30 seconds so to keep a positive mind and act as if the contractions were going through your head and out your feet... Hopefully when the day comes it'll be a lot easier done than said ahaha!
I'm doing ok. Last night I had some abdominal pains for about 2 hours that really scared me. I think I just overdid it at my kids ballgame last night. Once I finally got comfortable in bed & fell asleep, the pain subsided. It could have been contractions, b/c my tummy got hard during the painful episodes. Contractions at this point isn't uncommon from what I hear. I'm drinking plenty of water today to try and calm the uterus.
Im a ftm so ive never had it done but i would think yu have a VERY good chance being dialated to a 4 already! Good luck!

So I just went to the doctors he said my cervix still look pretty closed ( I haven't lost my mucus plug either) I haven't had contractions or anything my due date is in 3 days and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to open them up or start contractions basically to get my labor rolling or some thing. I probably sound stupid I'm a ftm and I just am ready for her to be here and I'm sorry / not sorry I'm so completely over being pregnant.
Unlike false labor contractions or Braxton Hicks contractions, true labor contractions do not stop when you change your position or relax. Although the contractions may be uncomfortable, you will be able to relax in between contractions.
Ok so I'm 38+2 went to the hospital last night for contractions. They were regular but over a 3 hour period I hadn't dilated any... I'm only 1cm.. so they gave me a pill to slow my contractions and sent me home at 2am this morning. I'm still having contractions. Any suggestions on how to get my baby moving down and my cervix dilated??? How long could I be in early labor??
Contractions should come and go regardless of real or fake. I have instructions from l&d that say if your belly gets hard and doesn't soften you should be seen. Not sure what it means, but its on the list of reasons to go in.
if baby is moving a lot, then you are probably safe for now. when labor contractions start up, baby will be moving into position and the contractions will make the baby immobile as it lessens the space they have to move. try and get some rest, you have a big week ahead of you!

Im 39 weeka and really scared, first baby, head is down but it seems like he doesnt want to come out I dont want a c section I want to have the experience of natural birth how can I speed up contractions last time my dr checked me I was at 3cm is there any way I can make myself dilate more??
Try a serious foot rub... look it up for certain pressure points. I tried a gentle one 2weeks ago & got contractions but I was scared of going into labor too soon & stopped. Trying tonight now over the 37week mark & baby is low & in place! Good luck!
Some teas are safe, others not. Its a complicated list so i don't remember which ones are safe or not. But i'm sure you can find a good list on google. The biggest problem is if you put sugar in your tea because drinking tea will make you consume a lot of sugar of you take sevral cups a day.
I was awakened at 530 am to a super sharp pain radiating all the way around my hips, back and lower abdomen below my stomach.. It hurt to move and it was almost as tho I had to breath thru the pain. I was laying on my left side at the time. it lasted about 10 minutes and has subsided but it's lingering near the top of my legs and a little achy in my list belly area. I'm 31 weeks pregnant today. Any ideas?!?
t need to head to the hospital the *second* you feel the 1st contraction, so as soon as you do you have time to start calling around. Plus it would be wise to wait until your contractions are following a pattern to make sure you aren't experiencing false labor. Is a bus route an option either?
I'm 32+2 weeks & since I was 31 weeks I've been getting contractions. I know when I'm going to get some cause I always throw up before they start. Has this happened to anyone else?
