Avatar f tn Well, actually there is no tale at all, just simple explanation - stimulating nipples (like baby is feeding), it bring out hormone called oxcitocine (hope I spelled it right), and it couses uterus to squeeze (no, there was another word, sinonime, I forgot it - sorry, English isnt my native language). As Your baby hasnt born yet, it can couse contractions, something like after having orgasm.
4437866 tn?1388119624 I don't know what to recommend but I'll ask a friend of mine that is a sign language interpreter. In the meantime if you start looking make sure it is actual American Sign Language. Some of those "baby sign" deals aren't actual ASL but some made up form of sign language.
1260255 tn?1288654564 I have not be dx'd, but for 7+ years, I have had problems with language. At first, it was just verbal. On those days where I'd have the brain fog, my voice was soft and I found that I would misuse words or garble syllables/words. This still continues; while it generally lasts for the better part of the day, it usually only lasts for a day and it can be weeks or months between episodes. And yes, I do have the slurring of speech, even on days without brain fog.
Avatar f tn There is no question that in the area of speech/language he is delayed and there are indicatins his social development is also delayed. It is possible that he displays a type of pervasive developmental disorder, but the only way to know this is have him evaluated in all the major areas of development (motor, cognitive, social, emotional). This has nothing to do with ADHD and, in any case, he is far too young to be adequateluy evaluated in that area.

Avatar m tn Please for those who speak Fillipines or Chinese or Estonia or any other language. What does the word or phrase 'KOLIMINA' or 'KOLO AKAMINA' or anything similar to it. Does it have meaning?
Avatar n tn I have two different friends that speak both and they teach their babies both (under 2yrs old) and i noticed they know a little bit of each language but they are a lot more behind on just one language. Like instead of knowing twenty words in english only, they know only 5 words in english and 5 in spanish. I have no idea what others experience with it is like, this is just how both of these babies are and they are not associated with one another.
Avatar f tn Okey, i live in a spanish speaking home, theres some english but Mainly spanish, i dont understand a lot nor really speak it. Well my concern is wat if my sonz first language is spanish. 973741 tn?1342342773 What types of activities can people do with older children to help with pragmatic language deficits?

10553058 tn?1420738321 Your English is pretty good if it's not your primary language. I don't have an answer to the birth portion.. This is my first. But you can take Tylenol, for headaches, body aches, and fever.
Avatar f tn I am 36+4 and woke up around midnight with a horrible burning tearing pain in my side. After trying to walk it off for over an hr I had hubs take me to l&d. I was having contractions but were only 6-8 min apart and my leg was going numb. Nurse came in and checked me, only dilated 1cm and 30%. They did blood work and a UA. On the monitor, they left me alone for the next 2 hrs with no one cking on me.
6965936 tn?1394227011 Does not delay them but make them smarter!!!! I'm hearing and my husband is fully deaf & our 5 year old daughter can tell you a full story in sign language! She is one of the smartest in her class. Go for it....
543250 tn?1214743177 I forgot to say, yes Semantic/Pragmatic Disorder is typical of being on the spectrum and is one of the Disorders that a good Speech and Language Therapist will tell you that you are looking at a probable diagnosis of autism.
676912 tn?1332812551 t working properly, things said to them can be chaotic and hard to organize and make sense of--- this is how sensory plays a role in receptive language. And then expressive language is affected because a child has an issue with the receptive part. We see an occupational therapist for my son's sensory issues. He has mild motor planning issues. His occupational therapist works on this and gives us things to do at home.
Avatar n tn I do have a question about oral language development though. He says, or has said, more than 70 different words, using more than half of them habitually. But he uses only a pair of two-word sentences (what's dat? and ge-rage door). Most of the language development milestones I read suggest he could be using more two-word sentences by now. His doctor saw him at 18 months and was not concerned with his development.
1194973 tn?1385503904 t pertain to pregnancy, but I know a lot of ladies have children as well. I was wondering how many have taught their babies sign language. Kylie is 9 and a half months, and we've started to teach her basic things. I was mostly just interested in how difficult it might be, and how well this actually works. I was also wondering in what method we should teach her. Like how do they learn to associate it with what they want.
Avatar n tn It’s too bad there isn’t a spanish language forum as many latinos could use that, both because of the language barrier and cultural differences. Thanks anyway.
7758733 tn?1402589420 Im talkin adverbs and adjectives, metaphors, you know.. not the same old description of menstrual cramps, or tightening. I'm a second time mom, and never really felt contractions with my first. Ive had pains here and there, nothing consistent and each pain has felt different. So I'm so confused, I'm worried my uterus doesn't work, or I'm not feeling them. I can barely remember what menstrual cramps feel like! I barely cramped with my periodsand when iI did they were dull.
Avatar f tn Ok so I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and this is my 3rd baby I have never used caster oil b4 but I was actually thinking about i have been having contractions already but there very far apart and don't last very long.
