t feel each contraction, they just feel tightness. What I did was sit down on the couch with paper and a clock (with a seconds hand). You time the contractions from the beginning of one contraction to the beginning of the next. If they are 5-7 minutes apart for an hour and moving around does not get them to stop, you should go to the hospital. Call and talk to someone before you rush out, though.

Intense Sharp cramping pains!!! Like someone is balling your insides up like a piece of paper then un-balling it just to ball it up again.

m nervous to go into labor with no one else around, but I figured if I do then I call the doctor and have them count my contractions and tell if/when to come in. But at my last appointment the doctor told me "if you have to call to see when to come in, then stay at home. We don't take reservations" what the heck!? So I'm even more stressed to be alone! How can I know for sure, what contractions are and how to time them properly!?

Well today is my due date & i woke up at 4am with contractions, got to l&d around 9am and they said im 5cm dilated and they admitted me. im having babygirl today!! its still not real to me!!

I'm 36w & 2 days. My ob says that contractions feel like intense menstrual cramps and the top of your belly will feel really tight. You might also have pain in your back, sides of your belly, and down into your thighs. At 35 weeks I was already dilated 1cm and had no idea. I had felt some stabbing pains in my cervix but my ob says that may be the aftermath of the contractions and I didn't feel the actual contraction itself. It'll hurt more when you get to 5-6 cms. Yay!

Mucus plug is a jelly like glob that can come out all at once or in pieces for a few days. Contractions for me felt like horrible lower back pain that wrapped around to my stomach. My stomach gets all hard and feels like painful menstral cramps. It can start at any time really but normally when you hit full term around 37-40 weeks pregnant.

So I ended up in the emergency room last night due to baby nearly giving me a heart attack (not literally) and not moving much all day, hes usually VERY active day in day out. I have been having contractions and they registered on the monitor,all the doc said was "oh". I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow. Could this be pointing to early labor any time soon or earlier than expected? They were about half of the little chart on the paper.

I was prescribed some pills but in the paper that came with my prescription it says it should not be used to prevent early labor! I'm so confused and don't think I should take them. I can't even talk to the doctor because it's a holiday here and he's not even my normal ob. I have an appointment with her next week so hopefully she will give me something else. I have so much pressure down there, my hips are killing me!

So I am 40 weeks today and started doing natural ways to induce labor as I am fed up !! I just ate almost a whole fresh pineapple and am now having contractions. Has anybody had luck with eating pineapple and labor !?

but nope they checked me and I was 5 cm dilated and paper thin! I was so excited but so nervous and in so much pain ... everyone was saying how horrible the iv and epidural was but Omg I literally didn't feel a thing! When they said they were done I was like really? And wow the pain just went away .. it was amazing but I can't move my legs.. lol I got checked about an hour and a half ago (400 am) and was 7 cm!! So im progressing and sooo excited! !

With my first son I had contractions that the doctor said should have me dilated to a 10 but it never happened I ended up after 36 hours of contractions dilating me to a 2 had a c section. So yes you can have contractions real contractions without dilation. And if you have more than 5 an hour you are supposed to go to L&D and be monitored.

t even looked at my check in sheet as to why I was there or even bother checking me in. Once I told her than she wanted to act in a panic took me to l&d where I've been waiting the entire time.

How far along are you but my dr gave me a paper n it says to go in when there 5 mins apart lasting 1 minute long... or if my water breaks....

I check the paper EVERY single time. Its a good habit in my opinion so at least you're more aware of whats going on with your body.

I decided to put toilet paper in my undies and check back on it in a bit. I just checked and the toilet paper is a little damp but not wet or soaked. I decoded to smell the toilet paper to see if it smells of urine and it didn't but it did have a weird smell to it. I'm not sure if it's my amniotic fluid or if it is discharge. It has no obvious color and I'm not having contractions or none that I am Aware of.

You can get a pelvic exam and ultrasound dine to check for any internal damage. But as far as a paper goes my Dr usually has me come in after all bleeding has stopped. I would go in and see them any way just to give them the info on what's going on. And see what they recommend Good luck. I hope everything turns out well for you.

Here at Labor and Maternity because i had contractions since 10am til now every 5 mins apart, lower back pains, and streaks of blood in my urine and toilet paper. They checked my cervix and I'm only 1cm. They're keeping me here for 2 hours to monitor me again to see what happens. I wonder, how long will it take for me to increase in cm's? Pains are pretty bad now I can't imagine what it will be at 3 or 4cm!

D one night and they told me to wait until the contractions are unbearable and 5min apart, or if I fill a pad with blood. But.... My friend said her contractions never hurt that bad.

Ok, I was holding in my doodoo for quite a while, because there was no toilet paper so I got toilet paper & I finally pooed, but anyways while I was holding it in I started getting contraction type of feelings, was it just because I was holding my doodoo in? Or was it contractions?

Sounds like it could be back labor starting:) try a warm bath to see if it goes away... if not keep timing and once you get to about 5-7mins apart if you want go in. :-) Good luck mama.

The paper they gave me at the drs office said if they are closer than 15 mins apart it could be labor but im a ftm not that far along yet......

I posted something a little while ago where i had went to the bathroom and saw a brownish glob on the toilet paper. I talked to one of the nurses and she said if i wasnt having regular contractions and my water hadn't broke not to worry. And it only happened that one time. well i just went to the hospital last night because of contractions. they were horrible there and after four hours sent me home with a prescription for a UTI and said that's what was causing the contractions.

I Think My Water Just Broke! I Was Sleeping And Got Up To Pee, Then I Felt A Gush Sat Down To Pee, I Stayed On The toilet A While To See if It Wasn't Just Pee So I Put Some Toilet Paper In My Vagina & Pushed A Bit & More Fluid Came Out, I Smelled My Underwear (TMI) since It Got Wet Once I Got Up From Bed & ait Did Not Smell Like Pee And All The Toilet Paper Either... I haven't Felt Any Pains Yet....?

I went into the hospital last night and they gave me a shot to stop them. Thankfully. Bun needs to stay in the oven for a few more weeks!
