Common Questions and Answers about Contractions english children

contractions

Avatar f tn Patty1848** I have spoken mainly only Spanish to my children from birth, I spoke words and sentences in Portuguese while they were very small. We rarely speak English to my children, especially never at home. My family especially my father's side also only speak Spanish to our children, so does my husband's family. We are strict about language in our home, it's not to be mean but actually are trying to prepare them for a great head start for a awesome future!!
Avatar f tn My husband and also speak spanish and english. We focused mainly on spanish when our daughter was born. She will be 4 in July and I would say about a year ago we started speaking to her and translating things to her into english. She understands a lot more english. I'm not to worried she will learn English fully when she starts school.
Avatar m tn First, this is pretty common for children who do not speak English at home. And, second, you do not make this diagnosis in only 4 days. I assume that this is a private preschool? As I can't believe an experienced public preschool would say this. An evaluation would be a good idea, just to show the preschool that she is a normal kid. But, it would be helpful to have it done in her native language.
Avatar f tn Im trilingual. I speak Spanish and French. My children speak English and Spanish as well. My husband is still learning but he's trying lol I'm 27 weeks +0 days. A lot of nausea and vomiting this time around! Many blessings to you and your baby!

Avatar n tn he is bilingual, he does not speak much english, but has very good language and numeracy skills in my langauge and appropriate to his age. he is very sociable, confident and chatty around adults, never shy, not clingy, i have practiced attachment parenting including breastfeeding him until he was 3 years and 4 months old. he started kindergarten a few months ago in September 2007, but we have had quite a few breaks in between, so in total he has not been there for more than 2 months.

1874452 tn?1349634777 t think that you or your teacher have an idea about how hard it is to learn English. English is one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn. It is even more difficult if it is not spoken at home. Is it? The best way to help him is to expose him to English at home and on TV. There are two reasons I can think of why he can't concentrate on what the teacher is saying. One is something like ADD, the other is because he doesn't understand what she is saying.
Avatar n tn English is the hardest language start with Spanish first, but speak English as well Spanglish
8585833 tn?1399748005 I had preterm labor contractions too and placenta previa and I am on bed rest as well with a 4 year old. Try to explain to your 4 year old that you are weak due to baby inside. My son understands that. When are you due?
Avatar f tn We Will Be Teaching Our Daughter Both Languages. My First Language Is English, But I Also Speak Spanish. My boyfriend's First Language Is Spanish And He Is Learning English. Most Children Will Mix Up The Languages At First, But They Are More Likely To Be Fluent If They Learn At A Young Age.
Avatar f tn First, I havent heard of explosive behavior disorder. (in children) In adults, this type of thing would show up as an Axis II personality disorder. In children, particularly 4 (very young for this kind of diagnosis, ADD/ADHD as well - and I would hold off on the meds until a second or third opinion is obtained..cheaper than treatment I'm sure...) ALSO - (I have personal experience in this - my 5 yr old girl had wild tantrums, and I was very worried,, and took her to different drs...
Avatar f tn I find she can tune French-speaking people out pretty easily. She is more animated and interactive when English-speaking children are around. I am concerned because someone who works with children, not a “professionl” (but someone who knows kids) observed her ONE TIME at her daycare and recommended that she be evaluated because her social behaviours are not normal.
Avatar f tn Well, actually there is no tale at all, just simple explanation - stimulating nipples (like baby is feeding), it bring out hormone called oxcitocine (hope I spelled it right), and it couses uterus to squeeze (no, there was another word, sinonime, I forgot it - sorry, English isnt my native language). As Your baby hasnt born yet, it can couse contractions, something like after having orgasm.
Avatar f tn Perhaps they might recommend additional “non-pressure” experiences (play groups, social groups, etc.) for your son with other English speaking children to help foster his English language skills.
360998 tn?1312494518 You dont tell us what country you are from but I will assume you are in the US now, I am wondering if it is his way of getting attention from the other children, does he speak some English?
Avatar f tn Has anyone had horrible contractions that will be consistent and then go away for a little while then come back?? I'm 32+5 and already dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced. I am on strict bedrest because my placenta is grade 3 and ready for labor but when I wanna go in for the contractions they stop. I've had 2 children 1 with an epidural and 1 natural I know these are not Braxton hicks because if they were I would not be dilating.
Avatar f tn I have a student. he is 4 years old. since he was born her mother let him watch some cartoons that name words in English or some channels like baby TV ( his1st language is not English, it's farsi). when he started talking he started saying the English words so his parents were so excited and they started talking English with him but unfortunatly their English were not good and they just talked like this:( what's this? this is... . what's that? that's ...).
Avatar f tn D 5pm bcuz I was scheduled to b induce that same day. They started pitocin at 8pm and contractions started but i was not having any pain then around 11pm contractions started to increase..
2075786 tn?1342908758 To one he spoke clear and fluent French, to the other clear and fluent English, both effortlessly. I might hire a Spanish tutor for my pipsqueak and myself, to see if I can at least try to get some of it back for her.
