Avatar f tn Im 36 weeks today, she's measuring 38 weeks. Soo yesterday my boyfriend and I had sex and right after I had to pee and went and it was my mucus plug and started having contractions that were all over the place so we went to L&D and I found out I was dilated to 2cm and 60% they kept mefor 6 hours and ddidn't give me anything just waited to see if my contractions would space out or even go on a regular beat but no. And I wasn't dilating anymore.
Avatar f tn It depends on the contractions... I was in active labor, having strong extremely painful contractions every 2-3 mins.. I was only 2cm dilated and was admitted.
Avatar n tn They are called braxtion Hicks contractions. False labor contractions, it's your body preparing for labor. Feel free to Google and read up on it.

Avatar f tn m feeling a lot of pressure, and am very tired almost. Its been 7 years. Had anyone felt really tired right before active labor? I'm going natural so trying to stay home as long as possible because some hospitals make you lay in bed. But i don't want to be like my friend and have him on the 1/2 mile journey there. Already having contractions but cycles are so bad i don't get uncomfortable until late. Is it smart to take a nap?
Avatar f tn Just wondering how long any of you ladies cramped before the actual labor contractions started.
Avatar f tn Was your baby calm or active before you started having contractions and going into labor?
Avatar n tn I have had consistent abdominal pain for 2 weeks now. Also I have lost my mucus plug. I am in back labor with contractions every 8 minutes in my lower back. Lastly I have had watery loose stool (tmi sorry). Does this mean labor is near? Could I have baby in next 24 hours?
Avatar f tn You could be in the early stages, but are not in active labor. Watch for contractions and time them. Unfortunately, it could still be days before active labor begins. Keep in touch with your Dr and gl!
Avatar f tn Yes, not all contractions are painful. They only get painful when you're in active labor and its progressing.

Avatar f tn Lost bits of mucuous plug for about a week before. Had bad back pain the day before I started having contractions. The day I started having contractions I also felt "blah" as someone said above. I felt 'different' somehow but contractions didn't start until 12 hours after that. Daughter was born 2 days later.
9067885 tn?1415002692 How did you mamas feel right before labor? I've been having around two contractions an hour but my water is still intact, I am not dialated, and he hasn't dropped.I had my dialation checked two nights ago so that might've changed.
Avatar f tn Contractions are the uterus squeezing to help push out the baby. That's basically what it feels like. Your belly will get harder, feel very tight, and some can be painful and some are not. I've been induced with all 4 of my previous babies, so I don't know what it would be like to be out and about when labor actually starts. But I've heard it usually starts slowly and gradually.
Avatar f tn U will be surprised how high ur pain tolerance is when u actually begin to feel active labor contractions. And the nurses at the hospital will help u to relax. If I were u I would wait as long as I could to get an epidural I'd u plan on getting one. Also what ^^ is very helpful as well. goodluck!!

And she is really active right now. Idk if I should just take a bath and see if it calms down or just go to L & D....
Avatar f tn I had a drs appointment that day so I went and my ob said I was in labor but not active labor but I was getting a c section so there was no point in me going into labor any further. I really felt like crud it was horrible.
Avatar n tn / they said my contractions were to irregular to be in active labor and to come back when they were 3-5 minutes apart.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to start dialating at 35 and half weeks and go into natural active labor? Ive had more and more contractions everyday for the last three to four days now and im curious to know if that means i could go into active labor very soon?
299260 tn?1304216105 I was dilated to 3 for a few weeks before I went into active labor and when I arrived at the hospital my contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was dilated to almost 6.
Avatar f tn They usually base it off of your contractions though. They advise to come in when you reach active labor, which is when your contractions are 5 minutes apart. If they aren't, and you're still in early stages of labor, theyll most likely send you home. Hope this helps! I took a class at my hospital taught by nurses and labor&delivery experts so that's how I know. Goodluck!
10135748 tn?1412019177 Did your baby get more active or less active in the days leading into labor???
Avatar n tn When they get close together the you are in active labor. But you should wait a little bit to see if they slow down cause if you go to the doctors and you are not in active labor they usually send you back home. But congrats and good luck sweetie. Giving birth is scary but the outcome is so beautiful.
Avatar f tn I never felt the period cramps while in labor. Everything I felt was in my lower back (back labor) it was terrible.
