contractions at beginning

Ftm ... I been feeling what I suspect are contractions & lower back pain but it mostly comes at night. Today I woke up & it's still bothering me.. mind you I've been feeling like this for maybe a few days. I tried to time them but its maybe every 10 mins when I lay down at night they come. I dont know what im supposed to be feeling or if its normal. Ive also been loosing my mucus plug & been dreaming of my water breaking?

I went the races with my boyfriend & have been having what I believe are contractions that are about 4-6 minutes apart for a few hours. Some of them completely hurt me & some just hurt. Idk weather to call my doctor if its real or not, but it hurts my back too right above my butt. Any one had this happen before going into hardcore labor & how long before please help me.

in the beginning of my pregnancy I wasn't drinking alot of water but as the months get closer I have been probably not as much as i should be, I think ima go to a Dr one today...

Your contractions should be 3-5 minutes apart. Which means from the beginning of one contraction until the beginning of the next one is how far apart they are. Don't worry about how long they last. My doctor told me 60-90 seconds but mine never lasted longer than 45 seconds up until I pushed out my son. Mine started out at 2-3 minutes apart I labored at home for 4 hours I didn't leave until I knew it was time.

I will be 31 weeks tommaro and I already deal with having a lot of braxton hicks contractions which causes bleeding that's been going on for 3 weeks plus I lost my mucus plug on Tuesday morning. now everything is perfectly okay as of of what my doctor keeps telling me and the baby looks great. I however have been dealing with severe cramps at random for the past week.. they last about 30-40 seconds and its absolutely painful.. I usually get them like 2-3 times a day.. what could that be??

My best advice is warm showers, lots of water (at LEAST 8 ounces every hour you are awake) and sitting/bouncing on a birthing ball! A good rule of them it's time to head to the hospital is contractions that are 3-5 minutes apart for at least an hour and are becoming more painful. Grab something to eat and a shower before heading in for your benefit! It will give you some energy for the hard work your body will be doing!

I'm 36.5 weeks, and 3cm dilated since last week. I had contractions every 30 min last night until 2 hours ago when I got up and walked around. They had been waking me up but only felt like menstral cramps. Also felt nauseated all night and pelvic pressure. I was so tired I passed out from 7 to 9 . It's almost 10 now. Also her head feels even lower since I woke up and my vagina looks more open. IS THIS LABOR TODAY OR TOMORROW??

Call Dr. My first time I dogs not feel contractions and my water broke at night at the same time I heard to use the bathroom. I honestly could not tell the difference between the 2. The only way I knew was undies kept getting wet and yep sure enough it was time at 38 weeks and 6 days. Good luck! Congrats!

I went to the hospital Monday night because I felt just horrible and had a fever was having contractions every 1 to 2 mins they gave me a shot to stop them but it only slowed them down they kept me over night then let me go even tho I was having at lest four contractions in a hour well now I'm feeling the same as I was in the beginning and possibly having contractions back to back again.

For the past few days I've been having a cramping feeling and a sharp pain in my cervix. I've also been getting braxton Hicks but they're not painful, just a little uncomfortable and I've had lower back pain off and on. Could this be the beginning stages of labor?

Do you count them at the beginning to the beginning of the next or from the end of one to the beginning of the other?

Also, worst case scenario, a baby being born at 35 weeks is certainly not the best case scenario, but typically do not have any long term "preemie" type issues. I feel better and will just take it easy and watch it. I am doubly glad we decided to stay home for Christmas this year. If something is going to happen, I prefer to be close to my own Dr. and hospital.

I'm 37 weeks 1 day and I'm just wondering with contractions and timing them, do you time from when one finishes to when the next begins? I'm not having any contractions at the moment, I just want to be prepared for when they start.

Lost a bit of mucus plug last night and more today with a little blood. Contractions are stronger than usual and still irregular. Should i go to the er just to check? Tuesday i was 2.5 cm dilated and my doc wants to induce sunday.

I have been having these pretty painful cramps. I remember contractions being a bit worse. I'll be 38 weeks on Wednesday. And I feel like these are worse then Braxton hicks. Wish I knew if this was the beginning of labor.

Okay, so last night baby wasn't moving like usual.. so i thought well i'll wait til morning to see how she acts. She did a couple kicks.. it got me worried because she's usually really active. I call my doc.. she tells me to eat A spoon full of grape jelly (because i didnt have candy) then drink water .. walk around a little then if she doesn't move in 20mins call back. So, my baby doesn't move. Probably 1 kick..

If its period cramps and they start too get real intense you prolly going threw Braxton hicks or actual contractions time the pain and if it gets to the point your having them 1-10 min apart you might wanna go to the hospital

I've been the same way today. Pain sometimes so intense I'm almost doubled over but I'm not sure that they are contractions. I'm only 34 weeks...although I had my first at 34 weeks I never felt the contractions...water just broke so I don't know what beginning ones feel like! My midwife said real contractions make your tummy really hard and the Braxton hicks ones don't...hope that helps!

So today I went to my OB appointment & told him I was having pains & found out I have been having real contractions! I'm 21 weeks & of course this is terrifying to hear! He says to time them to make sure they don't go any lower then 15 mins apart. How do I go about timing them??? Help!?
