Avatar m tn Before I cared about my safety whatsoever I did skateboard/bike/ski/snowboard without a helmet and I took some falls in which I just was on the floor for 5-10min rolling around in pain. One time in particular I remember falling without a helmet the back of my head smacked the pavement and I couldn't move for a good 10min.
Avatar n tn I do construction and currently 10 weeks and have done it since day 1. My question is, is it ok to be doing the heavy lifting, going up and down ladders all day. Power tools and all... ??
Avatar n tn i had wear safety helmet so dun worried u r safe...
Avatar m tn Now anybody who used that helmet would have been hurt while taking off the helmet. 2-3 times I used the helmet just after he had used it. There was however a 5-10 minute gap between his taking off the helmet and mine using it. Can this be a means of transmission. Should I worry about the cuts on my ear and get tested? Thanks a lot.
148588 tn?1465778809 economy, creating 20,000 direct construction and manufac-turing jobs and 119,000 indirect jobs. Cornell Global Labor Institute’s (GLI) analysis of the project has found that these numbers are unsubstantiated, and that the project will produce far fewer jobs than they claim. In fact, the construction of KXL may destroy more jobs than it creates." "KXL’s U.S. Project Budget is $3.3 billion, NOT $7 billion: TransCanada claims that KXL is a $7 billion project.
Avatar n tn Pus means there is an infection, and at this point I would see your doctor. You may have something embedded in your knee that you know nothing about, and until that is removed it will stay infected. A friend of mine woke up with extreme pain on one side of his stomach and when he went to the hospital they found a piece of metal embedded in his stomach. He was in construction years prior to this and still doesn't recall any incident where this could have happened.
1649704 tn?1402778437 I jumped into my boots, pulled up my bunking pants, secured my suspenders, swung my coat over my shoulders, and pushed my helmet down tight over my head. The engine was pulling out. It was a Mack convertible. I jumped on the back running board and grabbed the rails. As we swung onto the street, I lost my grip on the rails. I felt myself fly up in the air as we hit a bump. In a brief second, I wondered what it was going to be like to hit pavement.
492869 tn?1285018933 I wear a helmet now, but I started protecting myself too late. My most recent head injury was in late 2010, and I am still recovering. I would recommend considering a protective helmet to anyone who faints frequently.

Avatar m tn With regards to asbestos exposure, he should discuss the situation with other employees, his employee health and safety representative, and his employers. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) can provide more information or make an inspection. This link may be helpful: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/asbestos Take care and best regards.
Avatar n tn Okay so my boyfriend is in school right now for construction and said he wants to build her crib himself... I really dont know what to think of it. 152660 tn?1291755571 Hi All! We are getting ready to begin finishing my parent's basement into an apartment for myself. We will be doing most of the work ourselves mainly during weekends and will have someone coming in to work on the floor who will be using jackhammers for probably 2 days then put in two egress windows. We will have a plumber and electrician come in to work too. We will probably have people in for 6-7 days at once and then plumber and electrician do more later.
Avatar f tn Every province is different with their laws about driving. I see that you live in Ottawa. Assuming you live in or around the city, you have to consider yourself lucky that you have a pretty good transportation system there. Even if you don't get you driver's licence back, it is not the end of the world. There is nothing to stop you from getting a bike and helmet if you don't want to take public transportation or walk.
Avatar n tn I'm 15 weeks and the baby and I are healthy. We are going on a cruise tomorrow. One of the excursion we picked was a guided tour on a dune buggie. The website says no pregnant women. Can someone please explain this? I'm in a seat belt with helmet and glasses. What is the danger? I googled but everyone said they ATV throughout the whole pregnancy.
281219 tn?1219114914 Hey ladies, It's been a LONG LONG time since I've been on and it's so great to see that you all are doing well. I wanted to post a pic of Christopher who is now 7 months old. He's such a fun baby and this pregnancy thing at 40 is the most wonderful experience and best thing ever. We joke that he's our midlife-crisis baby but what a gift he is!! So the only bummer thing is that he's had back-to-back ear infections since 4 months.
1645944 tn?1305243337 That was covered with Hydroxy Apetite, a special amino acid made to generate bone growth, so technically I am under construction - growing a skull as we speak. Pros- I can do things I thought I would never get to do again. I have ridden my horse (walking only for now - and with a helmet), gone swimming with my kids, and practice softball with my daughter. Cons- Until the skull is fully grown, I have to content with a plate in my head that expands and contracts with weather changes.
Avatar f tn Why the **** would you throw stuff in the first place. She then picks up a bike helmet and chunks it at my head.. yup it it me. So I chase her to her bedroom and pushed her when she fell into the dog cage and acted like she was dieing. So husband runs to HER rescue. Grabs me by the throat choaking me and tell me not to ever put my hands on his child ever again. So after apologizeing he says that no matter what he will ALWAYS take his children's side and what they say.
Avatar n tn I have to admit, as much effort as i put into good technique and safety, about 2-3 times a year i take a good fall (while riding about 6-12 miles an hour), and sometimes i land on a rocky surface. I wear an expensive top of the line full face helmet, goggles or sunglasses and lots of padding in all of the crucial places people tend to land (shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, hands, shins), but still there is a moment of impact.
1301089 tn?1290666571 Isn't this nice! We're giving those dear little drug smugglers and murderers their own park. Never mind it's American National Parkland. Funded and paid for with American tax money. I guess actually guarding it with armed Guardsmen might insult someone.
Avatar n tn Being fed up of being bald headed I set up a vacuum helmet for increasing blood flow to the scalp, after reading a patent. It makes the heart pump harder. I keep my head put inside the helmet for about 8 hours a day. I even thought of setting it up on my bed so I can use it while sleeping as well, but the elevated heart beat won't let me fall asleep, so I gave up on that. Is there any danger?
