7963483 tn?1406809424 Yes! I took some classes offered by my hospital and it was great! You learn about the new safety standards and other parenting advice. I also made new mommy friends.:) I also had my parents take a grandparents class. That was really beneficial because when I was a baby, parents were told to prop baby on their side. Now, it's flat on the back. The grandparents class helps your parents understand the shift in safety practices.
Avatar f tn In Michigan they have you watch infant safety and cpr/choking videos, but it's not an actual class, you just watch them on the tv in your room.
Avatar n tn I do construction and currently 10 weeks and have done it since day 1. My question is, is it ok to be doing the heavy lifting, going up and down ladders all day. Power tools and all... ??
148588 tn?1465778809 economy, creating 20,000 direct construction and manufac-turing jobs and 119,000 indirect jobs. Cornell Global Labor Institute’s (GLI) analysis of the project has found that these numbers are unsubstantiated, and that the project will produce far fewer jobs than they claim. In fact, the construction of KXL may destroy more jobs than it creates." "KXL’s U.S. Project Budget is $3.3 billion, NOT $7 billion: TransCanada claims that KXL is a $7 billion project.
Avatar n tn Pus means there is an infection, and at this point I would see your doctor. You may have something embedded in your knee that you know nothing about, and until that is removed it will stay infected. A friend of mine woke up with extreme pain on one side of his stomach and when he went to the hospital they found a piece of metal embedded in his stomach. He was in construction years prior to this and still doesn't recall any incident where this could have happened.
Avatar f tn The classes i took was installing car seats and baby safety when they are in the car. And they gave me a free car seat and a diaper bag for attending.
367100 tn?1330914725 The classes I took were free! If you cannot afford a class, let them know! They will work with you, waive the fee, or have you pay something really small (like $5 or $10). Mine were free because of the hospital I went to. Some are free, others charge ridiculous amounts of money. I personally did not take a labor class and my labors were beautiful and perfect. I don't feel I missed out. The nurses at the hospital were helpful. With my 2nd birth my MIL was present and she was a godsend.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 weeks and keep getting asked if I'm going to go to any birthing classes. I'm 18 and a ftm so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go or if it'll freak me out more. What's your opinions?
Avatar f tn Have any of you taken any birthing classes yet, or do you plan to? My husband and I are doing a 2 day course on december 5th and 12th o the 12th we get a tour of the maternity ward. It should be interesting. Feel free to share experiences?
504000 tn?1242500793 We plan on taking classes and our hospital fills up the classes so fast that we had to sign up in our 1st trimester!! So, appartently they are not considered a thing of the past out here :) We wanted to practice different techniques as well as meet people who are going through the same thing as we are. I think taking classes is beneficial for mom, dad, and even siblings. Have fun with them!!
Avatar f tn Okay so I really need some advice. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant and am about to start CNA classes next week. Well I'm a bit stressed out because my CNA classes required a letter from my obgyn stating that I had no restrictions and could lift 40 pounds. Well I got the letter but as for the lifting they put with assistance.

1340981 tn?1276060354 I used to feel that way quite a bit too, especially at school in really boring classes my mind would wander and I would feel aroused. It is incredibly frustrating especially in the middle of a boring mathematics class.
Avatar n tn Okay so my boyfriend is in school right now for construction and said he wants to build her crib himself... I really dont know what to think of it. I trust him i know that he could do it but idk if that would exactly be the best option.. What do you ladies think? Would you let him do it or go out and just buy one from the store?
4111382 tn?1356207828 I'm 18w tomorrow and haven't felt my girl in a while... I usually feel her every night but nothing for the part 3 or so days. I literally have so much stress, I cant even go to school anymore. Some girl started threatening me for no reason, even knowing I'm pregnant. I called the cops, they cant really do anything about my safety. And the school cant either - although I have changed my classes too night time classes instead of days. Which means I go from 6 classes to 2 a week.
152660 tn?1291755571 Hi All! We are getting ready to begin finishing my parent's basement into an apartment for myself. We will be doing most of the work ourselves mainly during weekends and will have someone coming in to work on the floor who will be using jackhammers for probably 2 days then put in two egress windows. We will have a plumber and electrician come in to work too. We will probably have people in for 6-7 days at once and then plumber and electrician do more later.
Avatar f tn There are several different classes of medications that are prescribed for anxiety. Some are fast acting and prescribed for the short term, while others 'take time' to work and are prescribed more for the long term. Different medications have various benefits, side effects, etc....much like any class of medication we put into our bodies be it from aspirin to blood pressured medications, etc.
