Cornell Global Labor Institute’s (GLI) analysis of the project has found that these numbers are unsubstantiated, and that the project will produce far fewer jobs than they claim. In fact, the construction of KXL may destroy more jobs than it creates." "KXL’s U.S. Project Budget is $3.3 billion, NOT $7 billion: TransCanada claims that KXL is a $7 billion project.
Avatar n tn Pus means there is an infection, and at this point I would see your doctor. You may have something embedded in your knee that you know nothing about, and until that is removed it will stay infected. A friend of mine woke up with extreme pain on one side of his stomach and when he went to the hospital they found a piece of metal embedded in his stomach. He was in construction years prior to this and still doesn't recall any incident where this could have happened.

Avatar m tn With regards to asbestos exposure, he should discuss the situation with other employees, his employee health and safety representative, and his employers. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) can provide more information or make an inspection. 152660 tn?1291755571 Hi All! We are getting ready to begin finishing my parent's basement into an apartment for myself. We will be doing most of the work ourselves mainly during weekends and will have someone coming in to work on the floor who will be using jackhammers for probably 2 days then put in two egress windows. We will have a plumber and electrician come in to work too. We will probably have people in for 6-7 days at once and then plumber and electrician do more later.
Avatar f tn org/-/media/Practice-Bulletins/Images/pb200a.ashx. Embryo with crown-rump length of 7 mm or greater and no heartbeat is diagnostic of miscarriage. It used to be embryo with crown-rump length of 5 mm or greater and no heartbeat, but the guidelines were revised to be absolutely sure that the pregnancy is not viable.

Your scenario of gestational sac diameter of 16-24 mm and no embryo is in the column on the right, which is suspicious for but not diagnostic of miscarriage. This is why your doctor requested a repeat ultrasound in a few days.
1301089 tn?1290666571 Isn't this nice! We're giving those dear little drug smugglers and murderers their own park. Never mind it's American National Parkland. Funded and paid for with American tax money. I guess actually guarding it with armed Guardsmen might insult someone.
Avatar f tn I had a friend who dressed as a construction worker ( hard hat, neon safety vest) and she painted a stop sign on her tummy that said "caution BUMP" I thought it was super cute.
9961264 tn?1410873329 I feel like this stuff is like saying, avoid this it could cause cancer... it seems everything is bad! But then millions of us do it and everything is fine. I think if something serious were to come of most of these things, it was probably unavoidable in the first place!
Avatar m tn I’m concerned about exposure to construction dust leading to silicosis. I work in a theater that’s been under construction for a few months. They are installing new stadiums and seats. I know they are drilling/jackhammering concrete, mixing concrete and other general construction tasks like that. I try to be careful to avoid the areas where the construction is heaviest but some times my tasks force me to move through them.
Avatar f tn This machine features a motor with a 2.75 hp rating. The two floor-levelers provide some amount of leveling adjustment. Performance on our durability test - simulating a half-year of usage - was fair, showing noticeable signs of wear. Safety: The "stop" button size was considered excellent. The magnetic style safety-key disengaged without issue when a user drifted toward the end of the running belt, which stopped the motor and running belt as expected.
Avatar m tn Some bacteria change calcium sulfate, the major component of wallboard, into hydrogen sulfide. If construction and demolition debris contain large quantities of wallboard, large amounts of hydrogen sulfide can be formed. Production is greatest when the wallboard is finely crushed and when there is little oxygen, such as when the debris is buried and soaked with water.
Avatar f tn I was taken out a month after I was born (nowhere serious) and I ended up inhaling something around a construction site that paralyzed me and I was in the hospital from a month and a half to a year old... it was just bad timing.... but the other day I saw this mom friend of mine take her 1 week old to bingo... I was kinda taken back, but only because of my experience.....how soon is too soon to take baby out, not camping of course theres always next year.
