Common Questions and Answers about Concussion headache eye twitch

concussion

Avatar n tn She finally went 15 days symptom free just to have a very big headache causing her to have an eye twitch on 3/18. She said the pain was an 8 on a scale from 1 - 10 and it was at the temple. The headache eventually went away but the twitch is still there. She had a CT scan on the 6th and it came out normal. Should I be concerned about the twitch or the length of recovery. She wants to play hockey again but I feel we should wait another month. What do you think?
Avatar f tn I also had a slight eye twitch which has stopped. Im just wondering what it could be and if i should still go to the doctor. Thankyou for your advice.
1524559 tn?1291410896 s hard to say what might be causing the eye twitch. Majority of the time, eye twitches are absolutely nothign to worry about - as we both said, could be caused by stress - but if you're finding that it's happening ALL the time or affecting your vision at all, I would strongly suggest you get it checked out by at the very least your PCP, if not your eye doc (preferably).
Avatar m tn A more sever blow to eye will cause eye damage more than concussion. However if it was the forehead area then also blue black eye is a possibility. Concussion can occur if the forehead was hit hard. By now she must have settled down However is she has vision problems, headache, nausea etc then consult a doctor ASAP (maybe ER) Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Sorry, I get twinges 3-4 times of a headache above eye and like a pinch for a second near where I hit my head. I also have had horrible sleep, I wake up with anxiety.
Avatar f tn That is not due to concussion. You should be seen by an Eye MD ophthalmologist for a medical eye exam.
Avatar m tn The first day when i had Injury went to urgent care. they did concussion test( eye moving, ear, eye moving and dental) . in ER also they did same thing.
Avatar f tn I suffered a concussion on Jan. 3rd and had just a bad headache,a little dizziness and a lump on the back of my head. Then a few days to a week the dizziness got alot worse, i became unsteady on my feet, developed ringing in my ears, nausea and the headache got worse. I've had an MRI and CT Scan and both were fine. Now I'm having a little problem with remembering names and other little things, plus I've noticed that loud noises and bright lights seem to bother me too.
Avatar f tn xrays and have a hair line fracture of lower eye bone. Been a month and still have a nagging headache is this normal? Follow up with my doc was told I have a concussion too. How long could I have headache?
Avatar m tn He did not lose consciousness however had stitches and a week later was having headaches and eye pain. Concussion was diagnosed and CAT Scan was fine and eye specialist saw no damage. However it has been over 3 weeks and he is still having eye pain and headaches. What else can we do?
Avatar f tn 2 years ago, I had a coup-concoup concussion (I think that was how to spell it). Ever since then, I've had a never ending headache. It's even in my dreams. I also get migraines where my brain smacked the other side of my skull. Then last Christmas, I hit my head on my temple and got a minor concussion then. But there didn't seem to be any lasting remarks from that. Anyways, yesterday I plopped down on my bed and hit the back of my head on my windowsill.

435918 tn?1204737341 I was involved in a car accident exactly 3 weeks ago. I was hit HARD from behind, then my car ran into the vehicle in front of me. I was diagnosed with cervical strain, but followed up with my primary MD because my head hurt so bad I could not hold it up. He ordered a CT of my head which came back normal, as well as giving me a prescription of Percocet.
Avatar n tn Hi, Yes this is concussion injury which is a mild form of brain injury. It is characterized by headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, photosensitivity, double vision and blurred vision. It is diagnosed by physical and neurological examination. Treatment is basically rest and monitoring. Take care!
Avatar n tn Yes it does sound like a concussion. I would see your doctor right away or go to the ER to make sure there is no serious damage. They will probably do a CT scan or MRI.

Avatar f tn Tuesday I flew home, neck still stiff ,headache after my flight in the evening. Wednesday I wake up headache starts later in the day neck is almost better, Nd today Thursday I woke up with a headache and became nauseous in the evening. I told my dad about my headache and he just says in a stress headache. I’m not sure what to do? I live in Canada so the cost is not a problem and there is a hospital nearby that has a separate walk in clinic. I don’t have a mother so don’t bother.
Avatar m tn Three days ago I ran into a light poll while I was running and blacked out for just a few minutes. I came to and my roommate tried keeping me concious, but I don't remember any of our interactions or even what had happen until they told me the next day. I have pain and bruising above my left eye and slightly under it. I'm a smoker, and two days later I noticed smoking making my stomach feel kind of unsettling and giving me a slight headache. This has never happened before.
Avatar m tn after suffering a blow to the head,i had a headache for about a week, however i did not seek medical attention.the headaches went away for about 2 months then i was rushed to emergency with dizziness and light headedness, and blood pressure 188/89 after ct scans and other tests they could find nothing wrong.i was rushed to hospital 2 weeks after that with same symptoms plus my whole body was shaking.now i have been diagnosed with post concussion syndrome.
Avatar n tn What is very apparent is that you must get a complete eye checkup by an eye specialist and not just by an optometrist. This loss of vision in the peripheral visual field can be due to optic nerve damage caused by glaucoma, high internal eye pressure, retinal detachment, occlusion of blood supply as in eye stroke, optic neuritis, and optic nerve edema.
Avatar f tn Following that horrendous day with a migraine, I developed a mild eye twitch in the upper lid of my right eye. The twitch persisted for what now would be almost 3 weeks. A week and a half into the twitching my upper lip on the right side (same exact side of the twitch in my eye). I am in good health with the exception that I am a smoker.
Avatar n tn d stimulate the eye area somehow--opening my eyes very wide, squeezing them shut, sneezing, or just passing my hand over my face, would cause me to get a twitch above my left eye, like clockwork. Then, without fail, a few seconds later, a twitch would start under my right eye. It was very amusing! Nowadays the mystery twitching is in my cheek off one side of my mouth. Please don't worry about it too much unless you have other unusual or problematic symptoms.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply! He seems to be doing fine now--vision seems to be back to normal. Nurse at school thought he might have slight concussion but he wasn't complaining of a headache or feeling nauseous. I will still have him checked though-thanks!
