Avatar n tn symptoms of a concussion can last days, weeks or longer....you never know. and these symptoms you are experiencing now could go away and you could end up with diff symptoms some time after. Im not a doctor but am speaking through experience. what meds did they prescribe you?
Avatar f tn If there is a clot blocking the blood supply then this can be treated. Please discuss with your neurologist. A MRI of the brain should be done. The blow to the back could be the cause for color changes and an examination of eye with focus on retina is a must. It may also be concussion but chances are less. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn They said in most cases a blood clot resulting from a concussion is located in a place they cannot treat, but in this case, the fact that it is in the vein, located between the skull and the brain that they could treat it with blood thinners.

Avatar n tn s and has found what appears that i have had a large blood clot at one point and it has calcified. that is all she has told me, (she hadnt said it was from that injury we just assume it was) with the memory loss and other weird things going on im freaking out becuase there has been no other answer but what she told me. WHAT am i to expect in the future with this? is there a chance of more clots?
Avatar f tn Ok, So I just went to the doctors and he didn't seem all that concerned, Because of my age and no concussion I shouldn't worry about a bleed or clot
Avatar n tn Mother nature provides a way for the blood to clot and prevent further bleeding, but when you take a drug such as aspirin, this mechanism is no longer available. The bleeding can fill the spaces and cause brain damage. The good news is that probabilities are in your favor and the chances are you will be alright and suffer no lasting harm.
1310633 tn?1430224091 ".........Dromerick said the kind of blood clot Clinton sustained can commonly be caused by a concussion or dehydration – both of which were reported at the time. Based on what her doctors described, Dromerick said Clinton’s clot WASN'T TECHNICALLY IN THE BRAIN ITSELF BUT IN A VEIN DRAINING BLOOD FROM HER BRAIN. Although such an occurrence can cause a stroke, there was no public evidence of that in her case, he said.
349463 tn?1333571576 I went in for my regular appointment today. The baby is fine I'm measuring right on track and all looks good. I asked the dr about the tightness I've been having and she agrees it's just braxton hicks. She asked if I can feel the baby moving yet and I told her that I keep getting this bubble feeling and sometimes it's on the right and then in the middle. Well when she was looking for the heartbeat on the doppler she found it and then bubbles and the heartbeat is gone.
Avatar f tn But my doctor told me they found a small blood clot near my placenta. I have been asymptomatic so far, pregnancy has been normal, just suffering from all day morning sickness. Anyone else been told they have a blood clot? Just curious if this was more common than I thought. Doctor hopes it will resolve on its own and cause no problems.
Avatar f tn I had a severe concussion and was out of sports for a whole year in high school because I had persistent symptoms like dizziness and headaches. You may be at risk for something like an aneurysm, clot, hemorrhage so play it safe and go to your Dr.
Avatar m tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar f tn My leg hurt for just a bit last night and then a little while after that I started hurting and freaked out because a blood clot was the first thing I thought of. It's not a constant pain.. It's just there when I move a certain way. I work in a hospital and I'm always pushing stretchers and wheel chairs so I thought maybe it could be a pulled muslce. But it's not sore... just hurts when I move a certain way. No pain when I breathe in deep or no shortness of breath.

1395422 tn?1308016251 Hello, Tenderness, pain, swelling, cramps, warmth, discoloration, redness and inflammation are some symptoms of having a blood clot in the calf. More serious symptoms include infection or death of leg muscle tissue, pulmonary embolism, heart attack and even stroke which are caused by movement of blood clot from calf to elsewhere in the body. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I would definitely go to get an exam immediately . You could have a clot form inside your head, could have a bleed inside , or a concussion. So many things. If you vomit that's also a sign of something going on . I mean it's too tricky to know but a doctor would know. My brother had a closed head injury and the day after he went into a coma from a small bleed from a blood vessel that ruptured. They fixed it with surgery but he was in coma for a month..
Avatar f tn n July my 77 yr old husband fell going "up stairs" thankfully but still fractured shoulder. The next day while helping him into shower discovered his normally thin ankles & feet were swollen. He assured me nothing to do with shoulder...but had been this way for months! Don't ask/don't tell is his theory of life! Finally the kidney Dr said blood tests remained the same (stage 4 disease stable for now) suggested going to his heart Dr .. had not seen for years.
Avatar n tn My mom has had a headache for 2 months straight now and was in the hospital for a while and they found out that she has a blood clot in her head in the transverse and sigmoid sinuses. It is the length of the middle of her mouth all the way back to her neck. It is still there and she is still having very bad headaches. She is on Coumadin and pain medicine. Any suggestions on what we could do help her get rid of this clot and to ease her headaches.
Avatar m tn I was in the hospital for several days and the symptoms above subsided. I was told the blood clot had been there for some time because colaterial paths were forming. I believe I can feel the blood clot and moving my left arm certain ways can cause a minor pain. I am now on a little higher dose of coumadin to get my INR a little higher, i.e a higher number in the theraputic range 2.5-2.75.
Avatar f tn After head injury or impact such kind of symptoms like loss of smell or taste and other symptoms may be common due to extent of damaged part of brain and may remain symptomatic or progress in future. Although any sure success cure can not be assured in such cases, but symptomatic relief or it may decrease with period of time, physiotherapy, avoiding any triggering factors and life style modification help you in certain extent.
Avatar f tn I just woke up and now feel an ache in my left arm, the thigh pain is gone...should I be concerned? I am 56...no other symptoms. If a clot, could it be moving? It is only an ache.
Avatar f tn Has your doctor tested to see if a rise in blood pressure aggravates or causes the return of your concussion symptoms. Your recovery time generally depends upon this assessment. A recent study conducted by the University of Buffalo’s Concussion Management Clinic suggests that cardio vascular exercise performed on a equipment that does not involve a lot of impact or bouncing such as a stationary bike, elliptical or treadmill can speed the recovery process. One of the lead researchers Dr.
