concerta cut in half

My plan is to switch to a med I can take and slowly cut the pills in half and taper off. You can’t cut the concerta since it’s extends release. Please anyone give me an idea on what I should do to get off this.

About a year and a half ago I started watching anime (kind of dumb but for some reason it makes me happy) and it sort of became a big part of my life. I had been on concerta for nearly a year and though I would talk away too much, I seemed to be doing well. I started feeling tired later in the day and cranky, so I asked my doctor to switch me to Vyvanse and did. Since taking Vyvanse, when I watch anime I can tell that I enjoy the story, but I just don't feel excited.

So, I have my doctor write proscriptions for 2x the dose and cut them in half. Using a proscription discount card brings my cost down to $43 dollars for two months of the pills. So, my total cost paying out of pocket is about $2 a day. I explained my situation to my doctor and he worked with me. With ADD, it is common for a doctor to write prescriptions for 2 or 3 months at a time (but you have to ask).

I would like to cut the pill in half just to see how he act with just half the amount. Once again he is only 8 and I believe that the dose is to high. Please help a concern grandmother.

you should work out a taper plan with your doctor. i dont think you should have cut the dose in half. those increase in your emotions is normal for paxil. is the same doctor prescribing both meds? are you taking the paxil for depression? the vyvance could definitely also cause an increase in your irritation, anger and rage. i would definitely talk with your doctor.

I have my doctor write my proscriptions for Adderall 30mg instead of 15mg and cut them in half because it saves me big bucks. I just had to explain to him that I was planning to cut them in half to save money. So now he writes for half the quantity but twice the dose. Pharmacists aren't allowed to substitute when it comes to dosage. So, you have to ask the doctor. By doing these 2 things, I now pay about $25 a month instead of $100.

The 6 year old is extremly emotional while on it, I cut their dose to half of what the dr said and they still are not right. Any suggestions? I asked for strattara and dr says it will not work for them.

that is sweet spot but a small ammount of alprazolam will overpower MPH and if it does you will need literally half bottle of Concerta, this is my experience and I say for mayority of other reports that i red in last 2 years so you are safe but take 1mg xanax more and no cleaning...

get the concerta put it in a lock box that only your sister can get into ...if he wont give her her meds she need to tell her doctor what is going on she needs her meds and he needs help.

My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.

Isn't Opana Time Released? I know you're the doctor, but I don't think you should inform people to cut their medications in half, ESPECIALLY if they're time released as this could cause a rapid release of all the medication in turn making her more sick, or am I wrong? I cut each in half and take each half 4 times a day a total of 40mg. Which is great, due to the fact that it is consistent throughout the day. I have been taking this for almost 2 1/2 years now. I was on 10 mg at first but after 6 months went to 20 mg 2x day. I haven't had any issues and am not used to it. When you switch from Concerta to Adderall, there should not be any lapsed time in between. You will just take the adderall instead. Hope this has helped.

Yes, my pill can be split in half. I don't have a pill spliter, so I am wondering if I can use a knife to cut it. I already cut it actually and it split right in half. My pill has a "divit" like a divider already so it cut very easily.

Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. My doctor thinks we may try something else to counteract the fatigue side effects of Paxil, once I concerta is out of my system. Honestly, this experience with concerta has me thinking of to phasing antidepressants altogether. I should mention that asside 50mg of Paxil I am also taking 0.5 mg of risperidon.
