Avatar f tn I am 23 year old, recently diagnosed with adhd, and i am taking 18mg of Concerta. Lately, in the evenings, when i am reading,or focusing on computer screens, my eyes feel like they are vibrating, and my vision begins to shake. I am making an appointment with my doctor. But it might take time to get in. What is happening?
Avatar n tn I am 31 years old with no previous hx of eye problems- 20/20. Today for about 20 mintues my right eye's field of vision becam wavy, first starting in the periphery and then the whole field. It did not accompany a headache or loss of vision. It cleared eventually and has been fine for last few hours. I take concerta 54mg, zyrtec and vitamins everyday. Who should I see?
Avatar f tn concerta! I just started taking concerta 3 months ago and since then I have had a constant uti. Somedays it doesn't cause any pain and some days it does. I have been on 3 rounds of antibiotics during this time. I didn't make the connection between the two.
Avatar f tn Im a 19 years old boy and i have tried vyvanse which did miracles at first at 20mg until the effect decreased and had to go up to 60mg with no effects except the bad ones and went back to my old self(lazy, tired, unmotivated etc.). I am now on concerta 36mg and it seems like working but not all the time and clearly not as much as first time vyvanse.
558991 tn?1226060828 She is now 18 and she takes Concerta 72 mg. daily. Because of her ADHD, she has become a compulsive eater and is now very obese. Now that she is 18, she wants to try weight loss pills like Alli and Lipozene. I advised her against it, saying diet and excersise are the best options, but she has a lot of trouble loosing weight, like most of my family. I am very worried that Concerta mixed with any weight loss medications can cause problems. Are my fears rational? Thanks.
Avatar m tn In addition I am tapering off diazepam and down to 2mg in the morning and 1 at night. Everytime I try to get off the concerta I get terrible anxiety from it. I have it to a degree while on it also. I want off but my dr who takes 3 weeks to get into anyway, won’t switch me to a med I can taper off of. I know 3 weeks is a short time compared to what most of you have been through. But can someone please tell me how long my withdrawals are going to last??
Avatar n tn A blind spot is generally a normal finding in the eye, unless you are talking about a a blind spot in your vision either in central vision or peripheral vision. The above conditions should then be looked into. Please consult an eye specialist. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with ADHD (to add to my list of other mental health issues) at the age of 21 and was put on Concerta as treatment. Well, three years has passed and my dosage has increased to 108 mg/morning. At 72 mg I started developping speech problems and then they worsened at 90 mg. It was so bad, that ny doctor reduced my dose but later on he decided to increase it back up as I was having a lot of struggles.
Avatar f tn They were good... for making me high but not for any of my other problems. so this lasted for another wile and then he put me on ritalin. Can't remember what mg's but it was actually working. The time i took to get focused on my work was minimal but i found myself getting back into distraction at about 13h ish. So then at the end the GP gave me a referral to see a psychiatrist. I find this annoying. It feels like all I ever do there is fill out random questionairs!
Avatar f tn No I just started the xyzal and Singulair 2 months ago and I've taken Concerta for 6 years now. The fever has been for 1.5years. I also asked allergist and she said that shouldn't be causing it. The cough we think is from allergy drainage because I live in the south and allergies are bad. The blurry vision started couple months after the new meds and Dr's don't think that there is any connection there, but thanks for the comment. Let me know if you have anymore suggestions! !
Avatar f tn Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up. Symptoms quickly come and go except for vision, coldness, nausea and burning, which are constant. Zomig tasted so bad as it eventually dripped my neck that I hacked a few times and a little blood came up. I have asthma, adhd, insommnia and depression. Two months ago I experienced an overdose on excedrin, clonidine and benadryl and recovered. At the time, I was informed of a potential heart murmur.
Avatar n tn my son has been on adhd medications for over a year, and i have had problems since about getting him to eat. he now takes 60mg adderall xr, and the problem is greater. for the meals that i can get him to eat, i make sure they are high in calories and sufficient in protein. but he still is skinny as ever. hint--feed hime first then give the medication...good luck...
969557 tn?1314370614 My son was on concerta and adderall and they both can cause seizures. I would ask doctor to you for an egg and make sure you are not having seizures.Witch is a side effect to concerta and can not be reversed .They can only give you medicine to try and control the seizures. I wish we had never put my son on these medicines.
Avatar n tn d be taken 3.5mg, then wait an hour, then the 18mg concerta , and then possibly another 1mg 30 mins - hour after that?
Avatar m tn I am a 30 year old who started taking ritalin and concerta (36mg - 72mg) on a regular basis for about 6 months about a year and a half ago. As a consequence I experienced erectile dysfunction. I stopped taking the meds and I still have erectile dysfunction. I have been off the meds for over a year now and I have not recovered my erectile function. I can only get a semi if I try really hard. I don't get morning boners any more and I don't get proper hard ons when watching porn either.
Avatar f tn My son has a 5-6 mm hole in his heart and we get Eco every year, just because he is taking Concerta. So far, we were lucky and did not have to suspend taking it. If they say it - keep him off of it. I am sorry to say that.
Avatar n tn My son took Concerta for several years and I noticed a change in his attitude. He would become so aggresive that he would actually hit myself. The doctor was upset when I told him I was not going to allow my son to take that medication any more. Now we are having problems with his attitude towards his school work. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn No one knows why stimulants cause these problems in some children and adults. But often it’s helpful if the patient eats something before taking the pill. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to try a non-stimulant medication.
Avatar f tn I know thats a stage of liver problems. Serious liver problems. What could it do to him? and my sister only getting half of her pill?
Avatar f tn Three weeks ago, the Psychiatrist added in Intuniv...OH MY GOSH...the Concerta and Intuniv were PERFECT....Great days at school and an amazing kid emerged...Then at the end of two weeks he developed a tic...This was so horrible...They were happening about 12 - 16 per minute. raised eyebrows, eyes rolling to back of the head, head tilt to the side and a humming sound. We called Psych. and Concerta was stopped. However a week later, the tics are still here...not as frequent...
Avatar f tn We now switched him to concerta (lasts longer than focalin)...and added Prozac. Teacher really likes the results at school. However...evenings are hectic. He becomes very silly and immature. Often displaying autistic like behaviors--flapping hands, grunting, weird noises etc. Demeanor is relatively happy and giggly....Before just on ADHD meds...the withdrawal he was very angry and aggressive. He takes clonodine to sleep. But is very amped up at night. Could this be a side effect?
Avatar f tn feeling nervous or irritable, sleep problems (insomnia); loss of appetite; nausea, stomach pain; or headache. So it is probably that the combination of the drug and coffee is the cause of the nausea.
1031310 tn?1259857386 I see your post is from a few yrs ago but I wanted to add that I was prescribed concerta as an adult- I have no other medical issues or mood disorders but an APRN said I had ADD (and I think she's correct). I started a very low dose of concerta and it was fine- no side effects and I noticed a slight improvement in my processing- then she upped the dose a bit and after about 2 weeks I noticed a pattern emerging whenever I forgot to take the med.
Avatar m tn My plan is to switch to a med I can take and slowly cut the pills in half and taper off. You can’t cut the concerta since it’s extends release. Please anyone give me an idea on what I should do to get off this.
Avatar f tn I took my son, who is on concerta and only 8yrs old, to have an EKG on Friday, and I was told that the results were abnormal, and that I had to take him to see a Pedi Cardiologist. He thinks that one side of of my son's heart might be enlarged, and believes that it can be resolved by taking him off the concerta. I have an appointment with the specialist tomorrow.
1756970 tn?1314376733 hi, concerta ,and stratara, and all the others my doc put me on didn't come close to adderall. focalin worked to but was costly. adderall leavels your brain, and lets you be yourself. the way your supose to be.
Avatar n tn can my son age 5 take concerta 32mg and fish oil and evening primrose and if so what mg of the fish oil and how many mg for the primrose can he take a day
Avatar n tn I get them from www.nativeremedies.com and they work wonders. I have had so many problems with the ritulin and concerta that it got to the point where the meds were doing more harm than good. These products are rather pricey..I think it's about 150. for a 3 month supply of both, but they are all natural and there are very little side effects. And the side effects from the ritulin and concerta were really harming my son.
