Common Questions and Answers about Complete blood count quiz

Avatar f tn Diagnosis is usually verified by the presence of the typical whitish, scarred strip of hair loss at the hairline and possibly reddened, inflamed hair follicles. However, other evaluation methods may include a complete blood count, a thyroid function panel and other hormone tests. Oral steroids and antimalarials may temporarily slow the progression of hair loss, but they could have side effects such as depression, insomnia, abdominal pain, skin rashes and retina damage.
Avatar n tn CBC or complete blood count: within normanl limits, as well as Liver Enzymes, Liver Function Test, @ Iron Profile. I would think this is all Good news....but they didn't give me a viral load count. That's what I am concerned about. Any in-put will be graciously accepted!!!! Scott????? Indy???? Twotells???? Avatar n tn Wow so many with similar symptoms from so many people, now after 2 endoscopes and a colonoscopy down to monitoring my blood count in case of bone marrow or blood cancer. I am wondering about a Mri on my brain as it is the only organ not scanned that can still cause nausea, weight loss and a change in vision. I have had hernias that have disappeared, polyps removed and an ulcer like lesion removed (which sounds like hyperbole).
125112 tn?1217277462 Make no apologies for that "tone"...I feel at home with it. >I also forgot to mention I had IBS symptoms and had a gastric empyting test done, which showed I had gastroparesis - a slow empyting of the stomach and difficulty swallowing.< This will definitely be "filed away" for reference. Thank you. >as my stomach was not dispersing the blood sugar normally....this I worked out myself after 3 years of suffering low blood sugar attacks< How did you remedy this?
Avatar n tn It also can become HELLP Syndrome (hemolysis (H), which is the breaking down of red blood cells, elevated liver enzymes (EL), and low platelet count (LP)), which is potentially fatal to both the woman and her baby or babies. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is Ornithine? Also indexed as: L-ornithine-L-aspartate, Ornithine-aspartate, OA What does it do?
Avatar n tn At least I can always count on you Eddie! I live in Toronto Canada. So don't know about you knowing referrals for my case. I will ask my doctor for specialist referrals. Can you tell me specifically the kind of doctor I should see about this? I've noticed already that when I take a muscle relaxant it subsides quite a bit. It seems like a muscle spasm, mostly. But there is some sharp pain that comes and goes. really so uncomfortable. Like my head is being squeezed on one side.
Avatar n tn On April 16th, I had tingling in my hands and feelings of pure exhaustion. My blood pressure was lower than normal (for me) and I felt somewhat light headed. I had my girlfriend bring me to the ER where I had labs, urine and chest x-ray, all of which were normal. A few days later, I was working in art class (still feeling very sick) with an x-acto knife that wasn't especially clean and jabbed myself in the thumb. It'd been 11 years since my last tetanus booster.
Avatar n tn I hear vega or live blood testing can also be quite accurate in diagnosing food intolerances or allergies, not to mention bacterial/parasitic overgrowth in the intestines that as mentioned, might be another reason for your poor digestion and weight loss. Slippery Elm can be fantastic for acid reflux; it creates a protective coating down your gullet. Calcium is also a natural antacid as is a herb called Meadowsweet that you can drink as a herbal tea.
Avatar n tn Now you can take daily the same dose … sometimes Drs may prescribe higher dose at the beginning or at some point during your treatment and expect it to be a l-o-n-g run, but with Neupogen (for white blood cells) and Procrit (for red blood cells) and determination … and a little luck … everything is possible! If you select this option, I can share with you more ideas on this treatment plan. In any case, Interferon should at least slow down fibrosis of your liver. Plus, Hep.
Avatar n tn You can be half insane with worry over something that is probably only hurting you in terms of your blood pressure (from the undue, unnecessary stress). While Ativan is a short-term fix, it is extremely addictive and the withdrawals are a nightmare even at small doses (they gave me Ativan in the ED and only 1/2 a mg once a day brought a torturous withdrawal because the anxiety symptoms came back full force for about three weeks until my system adapted to normal again).
Avatar n tn You bring up some interesting things. First have you been thoroughly examined. Are your blood test and vitals all good? Have you had ekg, echo cardo etc? If you had these and the doctors can't put a finger on it then you are probably in the same boat as I and I'm sure many others. I can tell you the episodes should not be coming more frequently and should not be lasting for days so that concerns me.
162948 tn?1205256292 also and i know this for a fact as this happened to me march of 2006 when i found out i was pregnant with my one year old i had negative tests on cheap hpt's the cheaper ones only pick up the higher amounts of hcg where as if you pay the extra it picks up from 10 rather than 20ml of hcg it could be that you have a low dose of hcg and it is not picking it up try getting a blood test, if the blood test is negative then put it down to stress.
537731 tn?1268268886 Also wondering if anyone has had RAST (I think that was the name of it) testing done on their blood? Apparently they test for any allergic reactions for a whole range of different categories. It could be something we're commonly around? Final question; does anyone else have reasonably sensitive skin and scalp? Also tend to get hayfever?
Avatar n tn I've noticed that i have an orange tongue too, i first noticed it over a month ago now, im an 18 year old male and have just found out i have gilbert syndrome, this is a lack of an enzyme in my liver that doesnt get rid of bilirubin which is then spread into the blood stream, the symptoms are yellowing to the eyes and can get to the skin.

Avatar n tn You take your sexuality and you put it off in this world of complete fantasy, where it doesn't connect with any of your normal reactions. Thats so weird too, because I can watch crazy porn but if anything like that happened to me in real life, I'd be scared sh*tless probably. Anyways, glad I found this thread, excuse the rant. I'm going to eat avocado, do some ginseng pills, and stop jerking to porn for 6 months. I know it may take some time to undo a life time of damage, but f*ck it.
Avatar n tn maybe the 90 day BC pill keeps that area of the body from having it's typical blood supply. maybe that part of the body is indirectly affected somehow during a normal cycle. i'm not a doc so i don't know. but no one else seems to have an answer. anyway, baby power helps for me.
