Avatar f tn If you have been advised to take a statin drug, why not do so, and have a complete blood test after 90 days? Just a note, avocados aren't a good diet food, they have lots of healthy fat, but a whole lot of calories!

Avatar n tn An alternative might be LabCorp's Fibrosure test which is a non-invasive test using blood markers. Sounds like you've made up your mind to treat and based on your genotype and viral load, everything is in your favor for being cured. I highly suggest a sensitive week #4 PCR test to monitor your progress and give you treatment options. A recent study in Italy showed that geno 2's (and I think 3's) do just as well with 12 weeks treatment if they are non-detectible at week 4.
18514143 tn?1465892514 Drugs that lower arterial pressure, including angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, angiotensin-receptor blockers, and even beta-blockers, should be avoided or, if used, should be accompanied by careful monitoring of blood pressure and renal function. This recommendation is based on emerging findings that arterial pressure is an independent predictor of survival in patients with cirrhosis.
Avatar n tn 0 I was also tested for complete blood count (CBC) with differential for the first time since the summer of 2009, when I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism. All CBC values were in the normal range, except for monocytes. monocytes = 15%, normal range = 4 - 13 So, the monocytes were a little too high. I know that monocyte levels rise when someone has an infection or when there is stress. So, is my monocyte level bad?

The article was about a meta-analysis in which many studies were combined in an effort to get a snapshot or what the HCV infected population looked like after 30 years. The remaining case (for example, haemoglobin level is 9.0 g/dL) might be treated with peg-IFN (0.5 ug/kg) and ribavirin (200mg). The treatment is continued 48-72 weeks. I hope this information may help your understanding of our clinical study.
Avatar n tn It's not worth your life and if there's even the slightest chance that I would have to revisit the past, you can count me out. Why in the world would you take a chance on drinking after you've been through this hell. Just my thoughts on it. Besides, does the benefit of 1 glass of fine outweigh the potential harm. Personally, one glass of wine, one beer would be just enough to **** me off. Certainly can't see a warm fuzzy feeling or a buzz coming from it. Have you tried natures finest? Bud.
280891 tn?1261016650 In your above posts you mention that people with mercury poisoning often have a high white blood cell count, but MOST people with chronic illnesses like autoimmune diseases have LOW white blood cell count. Why? because an autoimmune disease is NOT an infection it is NOT the body trying to rid out toxins and i think you are confusing autoimmune with auto-toxicity, they are two distinct things and i believe you are on the wrong forum.
Avatar n tn I was a heavy drinker up until 10 years ago, who knows especially if you can get it from a razor or a toothbrush not to mention a cut during an accident or bar fight where two peoples blood come together, or at the dentist. Sorry for going on. Whenever you got it the best thing is to try and get rid of it ASAP.
Avatar n tn I couldn't tell if your post was complete because it sort of ended in mid-sentence. If the post concerns your own drinking then you should have had all the symptoms by now and be an expert. Usually 72 hours into withdrawals are the worst of it. After drinking half a gallon a day for that long you should seek medical advice for sure! Then again, I don't know how much and for how long you have normally drank in the past. J.B.
181575 tn?1250202386 Assess early predictors of efficacy at Week 24; go to 1 of C C1. If complete response (HBV DNA negative by PCR) then continue and monitor every 6 months. C2. If partial response (HBV DNA 60 to =2000IU/ml) then add a more potent drug and monitor every 3 months. C3. If inadequate response (HBV DNA >=2000IU/ml) then add a more potent drug and monitor every 3 months. 7.
Avatar n tn I am a week late which I am not depending on that, but I have had nausea, sore breasts, fatigue, and mild, barely noticeable cramps. My hopes are high and I go to the doctor tomorrow for a blood test b/c I have already taken 3 tests which all were BFN's...althought the last one was very very very faint, possibly evap lines, or my head imagining things. I have given into God's hands because I know it is only going to happen in His perfect timing.
Avatar n tn Especially so sudden like that, and especially after just coming out of such a tough treatment for her. When I met Charlotte in the blood draw waiting room (as described in my previous post), I was speaking to two HIV patients who were also taking experimental protease inhibitors similar to VX950. One of them was a Brazilian woman, and I'll never forget what she told both me and Charlotte as we sat there huddled together. She told us that she felt great and was living life to its fullest.

17568 tn?1424977159 It seems to me that an advisory on meta discussion (discussion about discussion) and reminder to stay on the quintessential topic (Hep-C) might have been a better direction to take. Being both cirrhotic and a health care professional sensitizes me to the effusion the afflicted bring to such a forum but boy do I crave facts when I read these posts..... I have really grown to respect "I" statements regarding pathology and healing, e.g., I tried this and.....
Avatar f tn She contracted it through a blood transfusion in 87. Anyway, she has had many biopsies, each time it is A1 F1. She does not want to treat. Being French, she has her little glass of red wine every day and might have some kind of aperitif in the evening. The results of her biopsy haven't budged in years and she is 70 now. She's had all kinds of other operations and chemotherapy due to breast cancer, tumors in the stomach... I don't know what to think....
Avatar n tn But my endorcrinologist said that he believes i am Insulin Resistant, more blood tests will tell in a few weeks, and he may put me on Metformin... He did say it 'should' help with weight loss, i am stuck stuck stuck as of now... Please keep me posted on your progress! Good Luck!
Avatar n tn I have used a protein shake called ultra lean by Biogenesis that has worked well for me with the hunger problem(up to 4 scoops a day is allowed - this particular protein shake works to balance blood sugars but does not interfere with the hcg) For constipation, you can try adding 1 tsp to 2 TBS mct oil per day(medium chain triglyceride oil can be found at or magnesium supplements.
Avatar f tn Yes I have had some trouble with hair loss, but my hair is so thick and curly that I'm fine with it. 200mg is a high dose. Does it afect your appetite more is there no difference from 100mg? I never even thought of mentioning the hair loss to my doctor...maybe I should...but he'll probably come up with same results as your dotor did...
