Avatar f tn which would be the best age to start teaching another language to the baby?
Avatar f tn So since I found out I was pregnant I've been looking on craigslist and eBay to help me find used baby things to buy for the baby, we're on a budget but I want to be able to get my baby what he needs without depending on other people and ever since I started doing that my bf has been complaining.
Avatar f tn English is my second language. I think if English is your first language, you should at least attempt to get it correct. I do skip posts where they use that kind of language because it makes me angry. (Not at the poster but mostly due to past history when people who can't even speak their own language correctly tells me to speak English).
4437866 tn?1388119624 I don't know what to recommend but I'll ask a friend of mine that is a sign language interpreter. In the meantime if you start looking make sure it is actual American Sign Language. Some of those "baby sign" deals aren't actual ASL but some made up form of sign language.
1260255 tn?1288654564 I have not be dx'd, but for 7+ years, I have had problems with language. At first, it was just verbal. On those days where I'd have the brain fog, my voice was soft and I found that I would misuse words or garble syllables/words. This still continues; while it generally lasts for the better part of the day, it usually only lasts for a day and it can be weeks or months between episodes. And yes, I do have the slurring of speech, even on days without brain fog.
Avatar f tn There is no question that in the area of speech/language he is delayed and there are indicatins his social development is also delayed. It is possible that he displays a type of pervasive developmental disorder, but the only way to know this is have him evaluated in all the major areas of development (motor, cognitive, social, emotional). This has nothing to do with ADHD and, in any case, he is far too young to be adequateluy evaluated in that area.

Avatar m tn Please for those who speak Fillipines or Chinese or Estonia or any other language. What does the word or phrase 'KOLIMINA' or 'KOLO AKAMINA' or anything similar to it. Does it have meaning?
Avatar n tn I have two different friends that speak both and they teach their babies both (under 2yrs old) and i noticed they know a little bit of each language but they are a lot more behind on just one language. Like instead of knowing twenty words in english only, they know only 5 words in english and 5 in spanish. I have no idea what others experience with it is like, this is just how both of these babies are and they are not associated with one another.

Avatar m tn it all started 2 weeks ago when my mum all of a sudden started complaining of a stomachache. she was sweating heavy and crying heavy due to the pain. i rushed her to the hospital, due to the poor health services in my Country (Africa) she was attended by a doctor on the next day. After giving her an X ray scan, the doctor told us that my mum was costipated due to inflammation of the intestines and hence he recomended a surgery to remove the waste in the intestines.
Avatar m tn From age 8 to 10 needed to eat between meals or complained of hunger. Performed well academically in Science, but very poorly in language and spelling. At age 10, started showing signs of extreme obsession and compulsive disorders. At about age 6 to 8 had trouble staying on a bed for a full night, and would most nights roll off the bed. Also would frequently wet pants slightly in years 5 to 10. At age 18 started becoming extremely self conscious, and having feelings of no self worth.
Avatar n tn I AM LITERALLY FEDUP BECAUSE ALWAYS HIS NANNY IS COMPLAINING THAT HE IS HITTING HER WITHOUT ANY REASON. KINDLY ADVISE ME......
Avatar f tn In other words, if his teachers are actually complaining about the same things you are - then the possibility of him having ADHD is more likely. I just started reading a new book that I think will be helpful for your mum. Its called "Raising Lions" by Joe Newman. Also if you or your mom want to do more research on ADHD (cause his teachers are also complaining), here is a good site - http://www.help4adhd.org/en/about/what/WWK1 Hope this helps!
