complaining

Avatar m tn My son started taking Singulair in Oct.2012, and then he started complaining about his leg, some kind of weird sensation. He called itchy feeling, but it was something he could not scratch away, something underneath the skin. He kept asking me to punch his leg with a 5-pound dumbbell. He wakes up twice or three times per night. He puts some hard things under his leg, and put press on it. He does it almost every night. He can't get enough sleep.

Avatar f tn According to the dictionary a tumor is "a mass of abnormal tissue that resembles normal tissues in structure, but which fulfills no useful function." A lesion is a "pathological change in a bodily tissue." (Concise Medical Dictionary). Sounds pretty similar to me. When I use the terms at work I use lesion when it's a flat area of damage and tumor when it's more of a bump/lump. Not sure if that's accurate but that's what I think of.

Avatar n tn One of the problems in interpreting medical diagnosis is that the terms are not in a common dictionary. The Internet has resolved some of the difficulty, but it pays to purchase a good medical dictionary, such as "Stedman's", which has all of the terms nicely explained. They are available second-hand quite reasonably. Spinal stenosis can be compared to a railroad tunnel with a train track running through it.
