Colonoscopy kidney disease

Common Questions and Answers about Colonoscopy kidney disease

Avatar m tn I also have a history of really bad constapation, so now I'm wondering if these pains are really related to my kidney or if I should have a colonoscopy to rule out polyps. I believe my grandfather on my dad's side died of colon cancer. I don't really think this is my imagination, but other people seem to do so because of my mental illness. I also have been known to overdose a lot on benedryl. Could benedryl mess up my kidneys like this?
Avatar m tn I had that type of pain when my gallbladder was inflamed. Have you had a HIDA scan or endoscopy? They could help rule out some things, then think about a colonoscopy?
Avatar f tn I've posted before. My colonoscopy went well and my large bowel is in perfect condition. But I still have nausea and diarrhea. I've been sick for six months and I'm 55. Antacid meds constipate me. Bulking agents don't change anything. Yogurt probiotics help, but I'm still sick. An antibiotic didn't help. Let me describe my diarrhea, so maybe someone will relate and can help me.
Avatar n tn Sending the stool off for culture and analysis, as well as blood tests to exclude celiac disease can be done. A colonoscopy can also be considered to comprehensively evaluate the lower GI tract. These options can be discussed with your personal physician. Followup with your personal physician is essential. Avatar f tn I've been having a lot of pain on my right side, front, back and side and the pain takes my breath away. I had CT scans and ultra sound to determine if I had kidney stones. Then they sent me for x-rays with contrast and I was told I had a floating Kidney. The nurse for his office said there was nothing that I could do for the pain. "Just deal with it". Wow how can I when the pain takes my breath away and the pain is so bad that I have to lay down in bed until it goes away.
Avatar n tn So i went to my GP who said very unlikly bowel cancer as im 24 recommend fibre gel i tried this but it gave me really bad stomach ache trapped wind pain and i was very uncomfy so she suggested i stop taking it as i was in pain she then ordered blood tests full blood count and liver and kidney function tests as well as a few others carnt remember and stool samples for hidden blood all tests have come back fine.
Avatar n tn I am a 28 year old female with symptomatic Polycystic Kidney Disease. My kidneys are about twice the normal size and are both filled with cysts. For years, when standing I have had a very large mass that will descend into my abdomen on my right side. With a firm "grab and push" I can move the mass to under my rib cage and it will stay put for an hour or so. I have had family and friends feel and move the mass just to confirm that I'm not imagining it.
Avatar f tn My toe nails fall off often(not fungal has been proven). My kidney got very enlarged and almost had to have removed once out of the blue. I swell, have pain all over, and stomach aches. My feet turn purple and go numb a lot. I get hard, warm red knots in my shins often. My glands swell a lot. I have positive ANA's all the time. My potassium bottoms out as well as my blood sugar. And most recently I have been very sick with repeated flu like symptoms.
Avatar f tn I am so tired of the tummy trouble, that is causing me more discomfort than the actual kidney pain. Can kidney stones cause diarrhea? Even if they are not the most painful stones I've had?
Avatar n tn hydronephrosis - caused by a stone, uretopelvic junction obstruction, or floating kidney (UPJ - where the kidney and ureter meet) I'm assuming this is the renal pelvis that is dilated. Other test for kidney funtion: diuretic renal gram (stress test for the kideny) retrograde pyelogram (shows explicit detail of the urter and kideny, but doesn't stress the kidney or ureter out to show how it performs under normal everyday living.) drink lots of water.
Avatar f tn Anyone, I posted earlier under nausea, diarrhea and bloating. I have a colonoscopy exam finally just two weeks away. But I have been sick for three months. I've been passed around by doctors, for a while received no treatment. Now I have nausea pills and acid pills. And I have been using home remedies that are somewhat helpful, particularly the probiotics in "Activa" yogurt and also I find cranberry jell helps my digestion. Folks, I swear, I think I'm dying.
Avatar n tn In 2005, I was diagnosed with Medullary Sponge Kidney (both of them) after two separate episodes of gross Haematuria. About a year later I began experiencing headaches, fluid retention in my ankles, feeling very tired, not being able to remember things, constipation/diarrhea and a lot of abdominal pain that usually results in extreme bloating in my stomach. My stomach can bloat so much I look like I'm in early stages of pregnancy. When my PC doctor presses on my belly it's extremely painful.
Avatar n tn I suffer from what is called Polycystic Kidney Disease (google it) which causes chronic kidney stones. Many people have this disease with no signs until they are much olde. When their kidneys begin to fail them. Diarrhea is related because when the stone is stuck in the ureter ( the tube leading down to your bladder from your kidney) this sends a message to your entire digestive tract to stop.
Avatar f tn Soo anyways, I still have tender lymph nodes in my armpits and crotch daily, intedtinal issues daily, hard skin patches that have formed and the hard blisters, chronic sore throat with sores in mouth and in nose (one of my nostrils have almost closed down permanently), ear aches daily, muscle twitches daily (mostly in legs), sleep deprivation, very troublesome intestinal problems, kidney pain, spleen pain (I assume is due to fighting a disease), slight liver pain, and random muscle pain.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone! For years I've suspected I've had either IBS or Crohn's Disease. Recently I've had some crazy symptoms and was told to come here. In addition, I have typed in most of my symptoms on a diagnosis site thingy, and Crohn's came up as number one. My symptoms are: Nausea, Headache, Fatigue(bout 2 weeks), dark urine, joint pains, abdominal pains(all over but sometimes upper right side), macular rash on chest, low grade fever(99.
501944 tn?1224059621 I have had Crohn's disease for about 3 years and I am having problems with vomiting and I don't know what to do!! If you have any advice please help, I feel lost! I have some problems swallowing and I frequently feel like there is something in my throat ready to come up. I was vomiting almost every night for about two weeks I then felt a little better and it only occurred every couple of days. Well right now I can't hold anything down. I'm afraid to eat, but I am hungry.
Avatar m tn Keep in mind that because you've been diagnosed as stage 4, you should be followed regularly by a specialist familiar with liver disease and Hep C. I do not know if your liver disease is well-compensated (without other symptoms), but regular surveillance in either case is a good rule of thumb.

Avatar m tn Told I have a total of 2 cyst on right kidney, 1 on left kidney and now a cyst on my spleen. After reading online symptoms online, it sounds like the problems I've had all year may be related to the cyst on the spleen. Could the cyst on the spleen be the main issue? Could I have ruptured cysts which caused my hospital stays? Any help would be great!
Avatar m tn Banner headline; Hepatitis C Infection Doubles Risk for Kidney Cancer ______________________________________________ Another possible equally true headline; HCV infection presence may increase risk of kidney Cancer under 1/3rd of a percent. (per the article) "0.6% (17/3057) patients with hepatitis C infection developed kidney cancer whereas only 0.3% (17/64006) patients without the disease developed kidney cancer." (isn't this a bit under a 1/3rd of a percent?

897773 tn?1256735820 Numerous investigations have been carried out, a CT scan revealed I had appendicitis and a mass inside my cecum. During subsequent colonoscopy the mass was prodded and it burst, it contained a stack of puss so the mass was removed and was later found to be my appendix which had intussuscepted. Pathology confirmed there was nothing "dangerous" going on there, no cancer or endometriosis so it was unexplained as to why this happened. CT also revealed that I had kidney stones.
171927 tn?1294027323 Found in 30% of adult population. exclude kidney damage in those at high risk for kidney disease. My uric acid test and GFR are from October and my doctor didn't even mention these to me as being a problem, but at my last visit he said maybe it's time for a referral to a nephrologist. I do have a lot of abdominal pain, and have been having issues with my heart, liver and bowels, so I think that this got lost in the shuffle (or maybe it's not that big of a problem)?
Avatar m tn i m fed with all i m suffering with lyme disease..i wud preffered be in accident with broken nt like wht i feel now..
Avatar m tn Hello fellow kidney stoners...I would appreciate any input you can offer. Last summer I had left flank pain, radiated down my side, around my hip and into my groin. Finally, in October I was diagnosed with kidney stones. I had an 8mm stone that was lodged in the ureter removed. There were two stones remaining in the left kidney. I have been having the similar sensation I had last summer....left flank pain, radiating down my waist around my hip, sometimes into my groin.
Avatar n tn My Father has been diagnosed with "end-stage" liver disease from Hep C. I would like to understand what the descriptor "end-stage" means - what does this tell us about his likely duration and quality of life?
Avatar m tn 11 (HealthDay News) -- Two prescription drugs used to cleanse the bowel before a colonoscopy may cause kidney damage, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Thursday. The FDA said it would now require a black-box warning on the oral sodium phosphate products Visicol and OsmoPrep, alerting consumers about the risk of acute phosphate nephropathy -- a type of severe kidney injury.
