Avatar f tn I was and am still having pain on my left side as well so i went to the doc and he sent me to the GI doc and he found pre cancer on a couple of areas in my colon by colonoscopy. there are other things specifically on the left side you can think about other than the ovaries. I have intestinal, colon, ovarian, uterin, and fillopian tube issues and I got all of it checked out. Yes listen to us dont ignore pain. Pain is there for a reason. Avatar n tn If she ate sesame seeds, or small nuts or seeds in tomatoes, see if you can rule out Diverticulitis, this is inflammation and infection of the intestines food gets into pockets of the intestines causes pain on LEFT side, sharp pain, needs antibiotics. I didnt know tht eating healthy to lose weight would bring this on, ended up in Emerg Hospital for 5days in Antibiotics.
Avatar f tn I have recently stopped taking all pain medication and I feel everything. The lower left quadrant pain, upped left quadrant pain, and the upper right quadrant pain from the removal of my gallbladder. I experienced hot flashes and cold chills last night. This morning I had cold chills so bad that I had three blankets on, a hat, hoodie, and winter jacket on inside my house with the thermostat at 73 degrees. It took me over 4 hours to warm up.

358304 tn?1409709492 I'm usually in the anxiety forum. I'm 26 male. About three months ago I got very stressed at work due to a huge production I was in charge of. I got anxiety from it. I then had some diarhea from time to time... Lost appetite... but made myself eat. Well I kept getting diarhea and strange stools. Stools that would be real soft and breaky. Like they turned to dust when I flushed. I went to the dr and he said it's prob anxiety related and he put me on paxil.
Avatar n tn I have had so many problems in the last couple months that I really don't know where to start. My latest is a pain in my front upper left side right below my rib cage. It's not constant and it's not a bad pain but just enough to bother me and worry me. I am also having bad lower back pain that comes and goes. I have had changes in bowel movements going back and forth from constipation to loose stools.
Avatar f tn I am a 42 year old woman with frequent lower left quandrant pain. I've had this pain for the past 2 years, off and on. I've been checked by my obgyn as I have a history of complex and simple cysts of both ovaries as well as cervix; I had a partial hysterectomy 4 years ago. This most recent bout of pain has lasted 2 weeks; it is more pronounced in the morning and after exercise. My abdomen seems to be slightly swollen only on the left side and is tender to the touch.
Avatar n tn What is on the extreme lower left side of the body just below the abdominal area?
Avatar n tn Things seemed to get a little better after surgery but now for the past 4 to 5 months my lower left side of abdomen has extreme pressure, tender to touch, severe muscle spasms in colon area, extreme constipation and diarehea. My guts feel like they are bout to explode at times. I have an appointment with a gi doctor this week. All my symptoms point to colon cancer and think there were other underlying problems when my gallbladder was identified as the problem.
Avatar n tn i get side pain on my right lower hip, right between the pelvic bone and the hip bone. the pain goes back about 2 inches and feels like im being stabbed. its not constant, but every few minutes depending if i move or not. i went to a doctor and he said i had a weak intestinal wall, but he didnt treat it because he wasnt sure how or if he was even right. are there other problems in this area? he ruled out ovaries and apendix.
Avatar f tn Kidney disorders too produce colicky and sharp pain. Sometimes anxiety with flatulence can cause this pain. If the pain persists, you will need to consult your primary care physician for proper evaluation of pain and therapy. Regards.
Avatar n tn All of a sudden I have a severe pain on my left side under my rib cage. I know I don't have gas, what could the problem be. Could it be my appendix??

Avatar f tn For the past few days I have this outrageous pain in my lower left side. It hurts so bad and after I eat I get all bloated and I am constipated and even have a hard time passing gas. Anybody know what it could be! I see the doctor tomorrow but I'm in so much pain and would love if someone knew of any home remedies?
Avatar f tn I have had a "tight" pain lower left abdomen which i thought could be ovary related, to begin with (and continuing) it was only felt when i orgasmed (as a sharp stab) but now, 4 weeks on, it is constant nagging, dragging feeling that occasionally twinges really hard. It is not excacerbated by movement/lifting etc. It is worse when i have a full bladder. Also i have been slighhtly constipated for 5 days.
Avatar n tn no problem... glad you figured most if out as quick as you did..took me years to figure it out. One thing though, just by eliminating dairy doesn't eliminate it. I went off dairy years ago and I wasn't feeling better so I scratched it off as "i'm not lactose intolerant" but I didn't realize that lactose is in breads..cereal.. all kinds of things (hidden too) so be careful. Soon as I totally eliminated that my nausea/pains went WAY DOWN.
Avatar n tn Pain in the lower left quadrant is generally suspected to be either a cyst on the ovary or diverticulosis. If they haven't checked you for diverticulosis you might ask them to do so. Have you had a signoidoscopy lately? I believe you'll need to have that and a lower GI to make a definitive diagnosis. It sounds like you've already been checked for pelvic inflamatory disease and the possibility of an ovarian cyst, so you might go with the diverticulosis testing to be sure.
Avatar n tn If pain is on the side in the left lower quadrant, it is possibly from the colon. Some rare condditions like volvulus (a part of the colon twists around its axis) could be possible. Small intestinal hernia would be also posible - this could be probably possible to detect with the hands as a soft lump in the affected area. I guess, ultrasound could be the first investigation and X-ray with barium swallow or enema after that.
Avatar m tn I have had recurring left side lower back pain that I think could be related to the colon. It only occurs in the morning (I usually go to the bathroom to relieve in the morning) and has been happening for a few months now. My health problems started 2 years ago with pain on the left lower back as well, and doctors still have not been able to find a problem after tons of tests. I had gallbladder surgery about a year ago, and was fine for a while afterward.
Avatar f tn My question is, is the left ovary located in the front, with the sigmoid colon running behind it, or is the left ovary and sigmoid colon side by side or is the left ovary located behind the sigmoid colon? The reason for this is because I can feel a lump in my lower left side, right where I think my left ovary is located, however, know that the sigmoid colon is located in this same area and so I'm trying to determine whether the lump is caused by my ovary or by my colon?
Avatar n tn Now I feel a weird but not too strong pain on my left side of my stomach. It is located in the middle of the left side below the belly. It was a centered/sharp pain first and now it is still a bit 'spread' but it still burns. Did I damage my colon/insides? Did I perforated my colon? Do I need to go to the ER?

Avatar n tn m hoping maybe someone will recognize the symptoms and be able to guide me in the right direction. The pain is under my left breast and radiates to my back. It also radiates down my left side. It seems to build up and I have ended up in the hospital a year ago and again this December due to the pain being so bad. The Dr's checking me could hardly touch my side without me coming right off the table.
