Common Questions and Answers about Colon cleansing liquid diet

colon-cleanse

Avatar n tn If colon cleansing was beneficial, why wouldn’t our doctors order them?
Avatar f tn A cleansing diet is different from taking a supplement, which is what you're doing by drinking apple cider vinegar. People have claimed all kinds of benefits from organic apple cider vinegar with the mother included in the product; the ultimate believer that this cured everything is Dr. Bragg, who probably isn't actually a doctor, but who knows? It does do some great things for people, and harmful things to others; it depends on how people react to acidity.
Avatar m tn just a question, I was at GNC today and saw a product for colon or gastro cleansing. Has anyone used these, does it work and is it healty?
1378071 tn?1313420821 Has anyone tried the ACIA / COLON cleansing pills, drink whatever.... they say the fat just comes right off?!?! Comeon now... Does that really work, im trying to get opinons before i try it!!!
1454383 tn?1288947277 If this is the Natural Clean I'm thinking of, it's for cleaning drugs out of your system to pass a drug test, not a colon cleanser. Maximum burn is a scam -- acai berry is, like all berries, high in antioxidants, but it won't help you lose weight. Real colon cleansers are based on fiber such as psyllium and some have laxatives in them, which aren't healthy, such as diet teas.
Avatar f tn Hello I am a person who has suffered for at least 3 - 4 years with diverticulitis with on set of problems relating to my being extremely bloating, constipated you name it, and the PAIN unbearable at times. Yet I have tried everything Fiber in my diet, changing my eating habits, eating smaller amounts so I wouldn't feel as bloated or constipated. What can be done? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn Also preparations with oats and bran. I likened this diet to clearing up a liquid spillage on the kitchen floor by throwing sawdust on it.
Avatar f tn I am a week and a half out from surgery. I had my first bowl movement Monday and it was painful, I had some formed stools and some soft. Today I was extremely constipated, I sat in the bathroom for a half hour trying to go. Is this normal and am I going to mess up what the dr has done by straining so much? I am on a soft diet, there are certain foods I have to avoid cause they upset my stomach.
Avatar n tn However, nobody seemed to write about my problem. In the hospital, I gradually went from a clear liquid diet to a full liquid diet. At home, I continued this for 6 days -- during that time, I had loose, runny stools. I was then instructed to go on to a "soft" diet -- no fiber. Well, 4 days into that diet, I stopped having bowel movements, yet still feel like my stomach is distended. I see the doctor tomorrow, but wanted to post here to see if this is unusual.
Avatar m tn Make an appointment with a gastroenterologist. It is costly if you don't have an insurance, regardless of age, if you are in doubt, consult with the Gas.. to have a colon scan. It takes a day of cleansing and a day of check up. Don't wait till too late. Colonsnocopy is suggested to the over 50 but no longer truth. You may develop a polyp in your 20s 30s 40s as well. Check if in doubt. When you see blool in your stool, act quickly. Polyp if not taken care, will turn bad.
Avatar m tn ) that with the constant irritation of liquid stool, cleansing and shrinkage she says it too painful to insert the tip of the enema bottle. I was hoping for the reccommendation of some OTC pain releiver stronger than the 20% benzocaine gel she now uses which can be used as a "spot" anesthetic?.
29837 tn?1414534648 Checked out from the library this book "Liver Cleansing Diet", by Dr. Sandra Cabot. I think it's worth reading as many of the things she writes about are beneficial to cleansing the liver. Makes sense to me because she's not trying to sell anything, but rather giving good, worthy advice on taking care of your liver. She writes about eating right, the specific fat free diet, supplements and so on... So there it is...
Avatar f tn This is going to be late for you, but you should never take liver cleansers while taking medication. What you're describing is a combination colon/liver cleanse. Milk thistle and yellowdock, for example, are liver cleansers, and could theoretically wash some of the medication out of our system, as the body sees virtually all medication as toxic.
Avatar m tn Hello~ Jaundice is not a disease condition or a syndrome but a symptom which can be caused due to host of disorders of the liver. Jaundice occurs when the biliary tract is obstructed and prevents the cleansing of the blood, which in turn results in icterus or yellowish pigmentation of the skin, sclera, nails, etc. Yes, jaundice can occur several times in your life span depending upon your dietary patterns, your habits, etc.
Avatar n tn STOP COLON CLEANSING....very bad for you....the colon has good bacteria in it that fights all the bad bacteria...if you rid the colon of that bacteria your defenses are all the way down. as far as your other symptoms have a colonoscopy/endoscopy done by the gastro it will tell them everthing.
Avatar n tn I have my first colonoscopy coming up in two days and picked up my prep package today, something I haven't seen mentioned here, called Halflytely & Bisacodyl tablets. I'm supposed to take the two pills at noon tomorrow (clear liquid diet), and then after a bowel movement occurs (or at most six hours later), drink the powder that I have mixed in a two-liter jug with water and refrigerated. 8 cups, one every 10 minutes. Sounds very filling!
Avatar f tn You can choose to try it out, or do just some of it, or not do any of it at all and go an entirely diff way. Basically this is a way to (a) begin to get the waste out, (b) a three-day juice/liquid diet to cleanse the colon, (c) a gradual return to regular diet, and (d) how to keep your digestion straight.
Avatar n tn Fortunately after the colonoscopy they determined that it would heal but I was on a clear liquid diet and major antibiotics. Unfortunately I contracted C diff. and ended up with a 21 day stay in hosp. My colon healed because they explained that I let my colon rest and fortunately the C diff. cleared up and hasn't come back and that was in 2003. I would definately discuss this with my doctor if I were you. Did you go on a clear liquid diet, let your insides heal?
451343 tn?1256250831 t take over night to get myself in this position, all though it sometimes feels like it happened over night. just want to feel normal what ever that is. wondering about colon cleansing. i have some colon cleansing formula. wondering if i should wait to take them or what. i just feel like invasion of the body snatchers. i want my body back. i let those damn pills rob my body of sooooooooooo much. feeling a bit like a failure. im sure that will pass.
Avatar f tn My indications for remove colon surgery were 2 cancerous colon polyps on 2 distant places in colon. Who suggest You to go to total colectomy? I'm not sure that constipations are indications for such surgical intervention. I live in Belgrade, Serbia(Europe). My surgery took place in Belgrade on the Institute of oncology and radiology. I think that total colectomy intervention is very safe here - mortality is at very low level.
Avatar m tn They looked like how a wound when a scab was recently removed would look, pink-ish and it looked wet but when touched it there is no liquid at all. I took a bath and rubbed my testicles gently, as I was washing I noticed a white thing clinging to the edge of the spots where the white flakes were and removed it. After bathing and drying myself I once again looked at the left side of my testicles. The white stuff was gone, but there are spots that are very much noticable.
Avatar f tn I had colon cancer 6 years ago with resection and complete cure. In Oct. 09 I had a total colectomy with temporary ileostomy bag and had my reversal surgery Jan. 21. I know it's still early, but I'm not having much luck in slowing my digestion such that I still have 15-20 BM's a day with associated hemorrhoids, can't sit very long, cannot return to work, cannot sit to drive, etc. I have tried a number of medications prescribed by my surgeon without much positive result.
