Colon cleansing enema diet

Common Questions and Answers about Colon cleansing enema diet

colon-cleanse

Avatar f tn Low-sugar diet helps in bloating. You may want exclude any sugary food (sugar, sweets, fruits, cola, any alcohol, beer and potatoes (starch)) from your diet for a week and see results. Fibers are good in constipation but they produce gas - so think. Raw vegetables produce a lot of gas, also cereals and fruits. Maybe you should drop fivber supplements for a while, if you're taking them.
Avatar m tn I think it depends on the type of enema. Using enemas frequently for constipation can cause your rectum to "forget" how to have a bowel movement naturally. Using enemas for "colon cleansing", I believe is not good, because your colon doesn't need any cleansing, it does this itself.
Avatar n tn If colon cleansing was beneficial, why wouldn’t our doctors order them?
787203 tn?1239720933 This is something that you need medical help for right away. I would not do any other enemas or any kind of colon cleansing until you see a doctor. They might be doing more harm than good. At 5'9" and 105 lbs you cannot afford to lose any more weight. Everyone has different bowel habits and what is normal for one is not normal for the other. If you are not eating very much then you cannot expect to have a bowel movement everyday.
Avatar f tn Doctor wil probably give you written instructions about how to prepare (1-2 days of special colon cleansing diet..). Before colonoscopy you will probably get an injection of a sedative into your arm vein that will make you drowsy. You will be lying on the examining table, doctor will insert colonoscope (about 1 cm thick flexible viewing tube with a camera and a light on the end) through your anus and proceed it to the end of the small intestine.
Avatar f tn A cleansing diet is different from taking a supplement, which is what you're doing by drinking apple cider vinegar. People have claimed all kinds of benefits from organic apple cider vinegar with the mother included in the product; the ultimate believer that this cured everything is Dr. Bragg, who probably isn't actually a doctor, but who knows? It does do some great things for people, and harmful things to others; it depends on how people react to acidity.
Avatar m tn just a question, I was at GNC today and saw a product for colon or gastro cleansing. Has anyone used these, does it work and is it healty?
425312 tn?1279966179 In my opinion, the whole colon cleansing thing is a scam. Around 5 years ago I had a colonoscopy done. They put you through a three-day fasting/fluid drinking thing before that. But no enemas or other fluid induction. As they were doing the procedure (it is no big deal by the way), I could see my colon on the TV screen. It was as fresh and clean as a . . . well . . . baby's bottom. So I don't take this stuff about stuff accumulating in your colon seriously anymore.
1378071 tn?1313420821 Has anyone tried the ACIA / COLON cleansing pills, drink whatever.... they say the fat just comes right off?!?! Comeon now... Does that really work, im trying to get opinons before i try it!!!
1454383 tn?1288947277 If this is the Natural Clean I'm thinking of, it's for cleaning drugs out of your system to pass a drug test, not a colon cleanser. Maximum burn is a scam -- acai berry is, like all berries, high in antioxidants, but it won't help you lose weight. Real colon cleansers are based on fiber such as psyllium and some have laxatives in them, which aren't healthy, such as diet teas.
Avatar m tn NEVER attempt to give a cat an enema at home unless instructed by your veterinarian, and NEVER use an over-the-counter Fleet phosphate enema (infant enema), which is toxic to cats. After they have been “cleaned out”, medical management begins. In the past, a high fiber diet and bulking agents such as Metamucil and fiber pills were recommended in an effort to make the cat more “regular.” These are actually contraindicated, and can worsen the signs.
Avatar n tn Hi -- thanks everyone for your posts -- they have been helpful! However, nobody seemed to write about my problem. In the hospital, I gradually went from a clear liquid diet to a full liquid diet. At home, I continued this for 6 days -- during that time, I had loose, runny stools. I was then instructed to go on to a "soft" diet -- no fiber. Well, 4 days into that diet, I stopped having bowel movements, yet still feel like my stomach is distended.
Avatar n tn Hi Pasq, You've asked a more difficult question then you might imagine. I assume by "colon cleanser" you mean enema .... or do you mean laxative? The issue with suggesting enemas is they are not for everyone. If you are a candidate then other things need to be considered, like do you retain water, do you have a cardiac problem or any other medical conditions that might determine the best one for you?
184342 tn?1282588750 I'm not a fan of those colon cleansers. I agree....see if you can get your money back. Otherwise, send it to me...I'll tell Mr. Peek its a "health beverage".
Avatar m tn Your doc got further on you. When I recently asked about barium enema, he said it was too thick for my colon and might not work. So he suggested gastrografin instead. You might want to do some reading or ask the doc if it might be safer. You may have to drive farther to find a center that does it.
Avatar n tn Regularly flushing your lower intestine with water has to be unhealthy since the colon is where vitamin K, B12, thiamine and riboflavin are absorbed. I would really classify an enema as a quasi-medical procedure. As with other medical procedures you should have them done at a proper facility. A proper facility would have a qualified staff to answer more in-depth questions as well.
Avatar f tn I thought I was having a bad painful dream when in reality I must have woken up at one point as the Dr was trying to maneuver the scope through the twisted part of my colon. I was given the option of the enema(which I had years ago)or another colonoscopy with deeper sedation. I chose the colonoscopy. I was given "Propo...something", can't remember exact name. I never felt a thing and woke to hear the nurse say they got all the way through.
Avatar m tn I had/have this on my scalp and face but am getting rid of it using a parasite cleanse called Paracleanse and then I just ordered mimosa prudica seeds (not sure I spelled that correctly). I’m also going to do a colon cleanse and enema after all of this and I am no longer eating processed foods, means as I have a hunch that’s the culprit. This stuff can also make you depressed, agitated, trance like. These parasites are like damn demons.
Avatar m tn not had a colonoscopy yet, but had the sigmoidcopy that checks left colon, also had the ultra sound that check large colon and organs. had barium enema which check large colon but awaitign the reults.
Avatar n tn t seem to find anyone who has had their colon removed or partial colon removed due to sluggish colon or severe constipation problems. If you have had this done please let me know how you feel about your decision. I am really getting nervous about my surgery that is coming up July 8. I am supposed to have my entire colon removed. The surgeon said that my left side of colon is sluggish. I asked if he could just remove the sluggish portion.
Avatar f tn Top 10 Dangers of the Coffee Enema The dangers associated with the coffee enema, green tea enema, coffee colonic (coffee or tea high enema), and coffee or tea suppository are as follows: Adding ingredients to the enema recipe (such as coffee, green tea, vinegar, baking soda, bath/epsom salt, or minerals) is not proven to do anything superior to the effects of plain saline. Inserting anything into the anus may result in anal tearing.
Avatar m tn 600 ml is quite a bit to be doing an enema with, especially if this is one of the first times you have done an enema. Why did you do the enema in the first place?
Avatar n tn It sounds as though the doc wants to perform a barium enema which is basically a special x-ray of the large intestine (colon and rectum) to look for structural featues and look for any changes/abnormalities. Before x-rays are taken, a liquid called barium sulfate is placed into the rectal area. This provides a 'contrast agent' that can highlight specific areas inside the body for a clear image.
Avatar n tn I do not eat red meat or fat and my diet many consiists of fruit/pulses/fish, life-non smoker, 1/2 units alcohol per week. My doctor has recommended a colonoscopy with general anaesthetic. I am reluctant as would prefer the barium enema/sigmoidoscopy route and eleminate things as I go along. I have never had any form or anesthesia/sedation apart from gas and air during delivery which I reacted very badly to, especially anxiety and paranoia.
