Avatar m tn I will do further investigation, but I wanted to know if this ACOG Colon Cleanse contains psyllium fiber or not. If it does, then it is something that I can't use myself. So, that's why I want to know. Psyllium fiber is useful for some people, but not for those of us with a lot of food sensitivities.
Avatar f tn Please try psyllium seed husks. I`m using a product called Fibre Force that contains mostly psyllium but a couple of other ingredients useful for bowel evacuation. So far it has worked wonders for me. I tried various other meds and supplements to no avail before I discovered Psyllium. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking Zoloft for depression and anxiety and am preparing to do a detox colon cleanse. Is it safe to do a all natural herbal detox colon cleanse while on Zoloft as long as the Zoloft is taken a few hours apart from all other supplements?
Avatar f tn ve found taking psyllium husks helped a lot to pass a big full bowel after the fifth day of taking them with lots of water
Avatar f tn I was recently told by a holistic/alternative person that my body was toxic and full of poop. She then sold me the oxypowder colon cleanse; 4 capsules for at least 7 days. I tried 2 and became dehydrated, plus do not like all the trips to the bathroom even in the middle of the night. What is your opinion on Colon Cleansing??
Avatar n tn Try drinking prune juice and also drink plenty of water - have a glass before every meal to help move things along. I also like to use psyllium husks, which you get in any health food shop. Sprinkle on your cereal every day. They are a great natural laxative and actually the main ingredient in many of the expensive products you buy in a pharmacy. They will also help remove toxins from your body so they are a great cleanse for your insides. Hope you sort it soon...
Avatar f tn I have always had a slow digestive system. I take fibre daily and always have a bottle of coloxyl on hand just in case. I recently had a big move and had to stop taking the fibre for a while, I managed ok for a while but not perfectly so I've just started taking it again now that I am settled. I I used to take whole linseeds but before my move a dietician told me I should be having psyllium husks instead so I've started on them.
Avatar f tn The problem with using products that do a colon cleanse is that they are filled with laxatives, yes most of them have natural elements, but laxatives none the less. This actually causes more problems to your colon over a period of time. I swore by a colon cleanse product prior to my colonoscopy it was the ONLY thing that made me regular.
Avatar n tn Psyllium husks are great. You'll get them in any health food shop. Sprinkle about a tablespoon or two on cereal in the morning.
Avatar f tn I had resume my consumption of psyllium husks of 2 spoonful mixed with honey or cordials or juices..drink once a day and plenty of water...and result ..I can excrete huge amounts the next day... Here, I would like to recommend to any person who have sticky stool problem like me or even any kind of constipation...TAKE PSYLLIUM HUSK..it works wonders for you..
Avatar m tn Since I quit the laxatives (senna and casgara) 3 weeks ago, I have been taking psyllium husks in capsules which has really help with my constipation and made me regular and able to have a bowel movement every day. However, I am very bloated. According to information on the web bloating is a side effect of laxative withdrawal. I don't exactly know why and trying to find out.
Avatar f tn First I suggest you see a Colon/rectal MD! and the best product to buy is Konsyl Original Natural Fiber Supplement Bulk Forming Laxative, Relives Constipation 100% natural psyllium fiber Benefits diabetes management No sugar or sugar substitutes Safe during pregnancy Gluten free Doctor recommended for over 45 years Heart healthy formula: You can buy it at any drug store.
Avatar f tn For the past few months, to help her constipation and irritable bowel, she has been taking psyllium husks. The result is that the stools are much softer. An additional, unexpected result has been the absence of rectal bleeding during her period! So the doctor’s explanation certainly seems to make sense. My sister asked me to share her experience hoping it may be of help to some of you.
Avatar f tn I do alright using flaxseed meal rather than the psyllium based fibers that you mentioned. I can use just a little in water, like the fiber drinks, or just sprinkle a little on my food. It's an actual food product and it has nutritional benefits, like omega 3. I buy the Bob's Red Mill that is available at Trader Joe's, because it's more affordable. It's already ground flaxseed meal. I haven't heard of the Heather's Tummy Fibers, so I'll have to look for that.
Avatar n tn I used Super Colon Cleanse tablets by Health Plus Inc. It is sold on Amazon, but I got mine at GNC. The bottle says to take 4 tablets twice daily for 10 days. I did not notice any blood today.
518117 tn?1429276273 Almost any regular grocery store or health food store carries containers of plain whole psyllium husks or psyllium husk powder. Remember to get loose powder rather than capsules that you need to individually open. You can also order psyllium husks from plenty of places online. If you want to read more about "why psyllium," please see Michelle Bernard's wonderful online essay on the subject. You'll note on the recipe that I use that not all cats require psyllium in their diet.
Avatar n tn Sounds more like an anal fissure. There are creams that you can use to 'deaden' the area while it heals. They have a local anaesthetic in them. You need to get the constipation sorted out. There are products available over the counter that help to soften the stool ie Movicol or Parachoc (paraffin preparation - helps to slide it out!) or laxatives.
1454383 tn?1288947277 If this is the Natural Clean I'm thinking of, it's for cleaning drugs out of your system to pass a drug test, not a colon cleanser. Maximum burn is a scam -- acai berry is, like all berries, high in antioxidants, but it won't help you lose weight. Real colon cleansers are based on fiber such as psyllium and some have laxatives in them, which aren't healthy, such as diet teas.
Avatar n tn We virtually eat the same foods and I almost never smell. I thought maybe he needs a colon cleanse? What should he do so that every time he passes gas, or has a bowel movement we don't have to run to the other room!!?
Avatar f tn This cleanse is meant to be used as a juice fast and laxative-based colon detox. You want to use it differently. I have no idea if this works if you do it the way they suggest, though I can almost guarantee the cleanse has nothing to do with weight loss -- if you stop eating of course you'll lose weight. When you start eating again, unless you change your diet, you'll gain the weight back. Using laxatives can be helpful in a short-term fast, but they can also be tricky.
Avatar n tn Hello, I had the same problem, despite being healthy (running daily, being slim) I could not eat fruit and veg. My doctor suggested colon cleanse. I tam taking natural pills, Naturalmax Enerix and Vitalix and these help a lot. I am much better if eating fruits than before, and I've been only taking them for 3 weeks. These are 100% natural and also sugar-free.
549913 tn?1278499261 d recommend that you take a fibre supplement is reintroducing red meat to your diet. Psyllium husks work well for me. Be sure to drink LOTS of water if you take them. They expand internally and help clear out the intestinal tracts.
Avatar m tn If constipation is a problem, try switching to a diet which guarantees at least 40g of fiber per day, using supplementation (psyllium husk supplementation like Metamucil) if necessary. Using chemical laxatives can lead to a further weakening of the colon, which can lead to further constipation, which can lead to other conditions. In short, fiber is your friend.
Avatar n tn If this has been going on for years, then I highly, HIGHLY recommend you go see a doctor to see what they can do. That said, try some of the following: Take stock of your diet: are you getting at least 25g per day? (I normally recommend at least 40g, most from vegetable and fruit sources. Try a blackberry/raisin combo for a very natural laxative effect. The fiber should help strengthen your bowels to help clean them out in one... err... sitting.
