Avatar f tn Hello I am 33 yrs old and very concerned that I have colon or colorectal cancer. I looked my symptoms up on Mayoclinic.com and everything is pointing towards colorectal cancer. A little bit about my symptoms and some may be tmi so I apologize in advance.
Avatar f tn My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer in Dec 2010. They removed 4 inches of his colon followed by 6 months (50 hours every other wee) of chemo. No catscans were done to check any other organs at the completetion of this. In April of this year, his blood work came back (bad) is what they called it. They gave him a colonoscopy which came back non cancerous, however, the surgeon wanted to be sure and did another, again coming back clean.
Avatar n tn My mother had cancer removed from her colon in Jan 2010, in May 2010 she was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in her liver. She was given 2 to 6 months without chemo and 1 to 2 years with chemo. She is 50 years old. She is getting chemo treatments but continues to drink lots of beer and eat very little. Does the beer prevent the effectivness of the chemo?
Avatar f tn I am a 26 year old female. In 2010 I had a abnormal pap and my gyno at the time told me to stop having sex unprotected and that I should prob get the HPV vaccine and nothing else. I am assuming at the time if she did think I had HPV she assumed it would just go away on its own. I didn’t think too much of it and I never got the vaccine. This year I got a pap for the first time since then and it was abnormal once again.
Avatar m tn Get to a rectal/colon specialist. I am a 3 yr survivor of anal cancer. Lots of growths or whatever can show up in anal area. Probably nothing to fear. But you won't know until a doctor examines you. I suggest a specialist as they have the equipment necessary to do a thorough exam. As well as experience. My cancer was not found by gasto in routine colonoscopy. It was a self referral to surgeon that uncovered the cancer and saved my life.
Avatar n tn s health related issue (such as endometriosis or a kind of reproductive cancer) or if I have colon cancer. I am really scared because, if this is colon cancer, I have let it get way out of hand and it is probably past an untreatable stage. Can someone give me advice on what to do next?
1316708 tn?1310916182 Thank you so much for writing. I am so sorry that you've had to go thru all of this and are a stage 4. I just can't believe you've been on interferon for so long. Do you have any family history of skin cancer? We had ruled out interferon and now we are considering radiation but most doctors are saying to go with mohs. Tomorrow we go to yet another doctor, he's a mohs, then we're going to another plastic surgeon.
Avatar n tn I have a colonoscopy scheduled for the 17th. I've had every symptom of colon cancer for about 2 years now... bleeding that varies from light to darker mixed with mucus (can't tell if it's the mucus turning the blood darker or not) very occasionally very dark blood, thin stool, incomplete evac, lost 40 lbs over two years, feel hard lumps in abdomen (but they seem to move so I don't know) constipation, usually go a little every day but can't get the rest out...
107366 tn?1305680375 I am an ovarian cancer patient, and am very careful to screen yearly for colon/anal cancer with a colonoscopy. I'm not sure of the familial relationship ovarian and anal cancers may have, but is there something else I should be doing to screen?

Avatar n tn a new study shows that eating three servings of fish per week appears to cut the risk of developing colon polyps that could lead to cancer. Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health and Vanderbilt University in Tennessee surveyed more than 5,300 individuals about their eating habits. All of those surveyed also had colonoscopies.
Avatar n tn She also noted that the upcoming 2010/11 flu vaccine contains the same elements that are implicated in the killing of these fetuses, the H1N1 viral component and the neurotoxin mercury (Thimerosal) plus 2 other viral strains. The following week at the Sept 14th National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC) meeting Dr. McCormick, pronounced, once again, that there were no adverse events in pregnant women - despite having been informed on two previous occasions of the VAERS data.
Avatar f tn Colon cancer can be extremely hereditary! My mother-in-law has 4th stage colon cancer and it was recommended to my husband and his sister to have a colonoscopy at 40 years old. He did and they found 1 small (3mm) sized tumor that was found to be pre-cancerous. His sister's result was clear. So, that's 50% chance right there. I agree with quinroxanne, be very vigilant! Good luck.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with colon cancer 8 years ago and they removed 19 inches of my colon at that time. Now, I had a PET scan done a few weeks ago and a spot (size of a lima) bean was found. I was sent to an orthopaedic doctor and he has discussed the scans with 4 radiologist and they will not commit 100% it is not cancer. So, now they ahve requested a CT/biopsy after a consultation with an Interventional radiologist next week. Do you feel this could be cancer?
Avatar f tn Everything is linked to something now...it's like you have to choose what type of cancer to get...eat this and it causes A cancer. Don't eat it and you are at a higher risk for B cancer....sigh.
Avatar n tn My 30 year old brother was diagnosed with Stage IV Colorectal Cancer with Metastasis to the bones on March 3, 2008. His original prognosis was 3-6 years. Since March, he has been on constant radiation because the bone cancer keeps moving. It has been prominent in his spine, neck, shoulders, skull, etc. (at least, that is where he has received radiation.
Avatar n tn Paladin Labs has said that it will continue to develop the next generation Chimigen hepatitis B vaccine towards completion of a Phase I trial in 2010." http://investment.pharmaceutical-business-review.com/news/paladin_labs_acquires_virexx_medical_291208 Not sure how hepb.org obtains their listings but many are out of date so there's probably others out there.
Avatar m tn I've been taking 20mg Opana & 15mg Roxycodone for 4 yrs. 3 ops & 5 rox a day. For 4 yrs. straight. I now have a job that I don't hurt at the end of my day nor during & I've come to realize these things have stopped working a long time ago & I'm taking them now just to keep the wolf away from the door. I went cold turkey last time I was hospitalized in 2010 for colon & kidney cancer.
Avatar m tn My husband's 1st wife had colon cancer. It was discovered too late, & she passed away at the age of 24 saddly. Your symptoms don't sound like what my husband told me she had. She started having symptoms in her late teens... chronic constipation, stomach pain, etc. One day while she was away at college, she started throwing up really hard & thought she had a virus. She was staying really tired & just couldn't shake it.
