I also make an awesome (if I do say so myself!) pasta salad that usually ends up being way more veggies than pasta!! Again, it's usually never quite the same salad twice because I go with whatever I happen to have or whatever looks good that day at the store/farmer's market.

7058746 tn?1393435420 I'm in the same situation, I found out last week and don't meet the diabetes educator until Wednesday. Its all about the sugar and carbs and counting them. Carbs turn into sugar so you have to make sure your not eating too many. I've found some great recipes on the diabetes association website. The internet can be scary to read but also you can find some very helpful information, there are so many recipes to choose from. Hope that helps and good luck!
3232858 tn?1437130677 I totally agree with everything Paxiled said. The first thing we need to know is whether or not you are taking replacement thyroid hormones to get/keep your thyroid levels under control. As Paxiled noted, adequate thyroid medication will go a long way toward helping get things back on the right track. Hashimoto's is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the developed world, so if you haven't determined the cause of your thyroid condition, this would be a good time to do that.

Avatar n tn It is not hard to cook proper foods instead of relying on man-made junk foods. There are thousands of recipes on the iNet which one can follow. If weight conscious and diabetic start by lowering your carbohydrate intake. Eat organic whole grains, vegetables, fish and poultry, and fruits, and lean beef and pork. Avoid foods made with white flour; breads, crackers, pasta and white foods like rice and potatoes as these quickly turn into sugar after eating.

1132574 tn?1271672466 My LLMD has me on a sugar-free-yeast free diet... I'm also vegeterian. I was pretty much born hating meat fish chicken, I never ate that stuff even as a kid, it grosses me out so adding those in is pretty much impossible for me. I'm struggling to find a salad dressing that does not call for vinegar or honey (no no's on the diet LLMD gave me). Do any of you out there have a recipe? I've tried just olive oil and some italian spices- bearable.

Avatar f tn Add the zucchini and garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the zucchini is softened, about 7 minutes. Add the corn and thyme and cook for another 3 minutes. Place mixture in baking dish. Whisk together the eggs, cream and Gruyere, and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Pour over zucchini mixture, and bake for about 35 minutes, until set. this can be served warm or at room temperature.
