cold remedies safe for breastfeeding

I had my daughter Brooke 5 1/2 months ago and I have finally caught my first cold in a year. I am breastfeeding but wanted to know if there is any kind of medicine I can take that is safe while breastfeeding? I have been very lucky that so far she has not been sick and I hope I don't pass this onto her. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Im exclusively breastfeeding my baby however this cold doesn't seem to get better. Shes really contested and a cough followed with diaherria. What to do ?? Dr said if now fever or throw up shes fine. Any remedies ??? Besides saline water and suctioning her nose.

Also some meds that ate naturally made are ok...

I dealt with the cold for 4 days I felt horrible and I'm over due, you can drink mint tea add lemon and honey, drink lots of fluids nothing cold , soup as we'll helps . If you do shower go straight to bed . Be covered up. Also I was taking Tylenol and made me feel better till the 4th day but it helps. I was takin it twice a day. Stay in and rest I took my third day and my bf made me teas , soups , he let me sleep all day and next day I was feeling so much better.

Hi, you can take vitamin c and just take a bedrest. I have one as well. Or if you just can't take it, ask your doctor what medications are allowed. Just wondering what your doctors or midwives have deemed as "safe" cold medications to take during pregnancy. My midwife gave me a list of meds that does include Tylenol, Tylenol Sinus and Tylenol PM, but what I'd like to take is Tylenol Cold/Congestion. (Well, I'd rather not take anything but this miserable head cold is keeping me up all night... if I lie down, my sinuses immediately plug up...) I'm doing all the natural remedies and they are working ok.

Tylenol is safe, if you have a fever I'd take it, if not just decaffeinated teas.

Also eating garlic is good, not really pleasant but it works. Google cold home remedies and they can properly tell you the steps. Be patient they work. I had a nasty cough with mucus and didn't want to take medicine to be safe.

Sweetie you will not be able to take any steroids so don't let them think you can take meds for a cold. I work for a Dr. who perscribes prednisone and she makes her patients stop taking them when she knows they are prego! I'm sorry you feel like ****! I take Fenugreek for low milk supply. If you go to the Breastfeeding Forum it talks about it a lot. It helped me a lot with my milk supply, but I have not heard anything about it taking it during pregnancy. Actually, on the bottle it tells you not to take it if you're pregnant.
