m allergic to cold medicine, so I always use natural remedies. As soon as I feel a cold coming on, I double my Vitamin C. I also steam fresh mint leaves for congestion and make and my own vitamin water using mint leaves, fresh cut lemons and limes. I can usually kick a cold within 2-3 days using these remedies. Also eating garlic is good, not really pleasant but it works. Google cold home remedies and they can properly tell you the steps. Be patient they work. I had a nasty cough with mucus and didn't want to take medicine to be safe.

Congestion and allergy/cold like symptoms are common during pregnancy and unfortunately if it is not a cold, you will just have to deal with the congestion. I started getting congestion when I found out I was pregnant and am STILL dealing with it. The doctor said it was rhinitis and that chances were it wouldn't go away until I gave birth.... So hubby has had a cold for almost a month now.it went away a few days and then came back. he is snuffy and dragged out with little energy and is experiencing much coughing and sore throat.Thing is he is taking vitamin C daily as well as his normal multivitamins. He takes Neo citron which he says sometimes helps. He just stated echinachea today and also takes Buckley's and benelyn cough syrup. He is still sick and does not know what to do as it does not look like it is letting up.

ve had a sore throat, nagging cough and really bad congestion for almost a week. To top it off I just woke up with pink eye yesterday. So I have prescription eye drops for that. Ear congestion - Blocked eustachian tubes. A bad head cold turned into a bad sinus and ear infection. Then, my ears got so congested it was hard to hear. I tried a variety of things. Finally, I went to the ear doctor, and she suggested an "ear popper". It is a small, handheld device which gently blows air into your nose. I guess it equalizes pressure inside and outside the eardrum or some such. After a day, my ears were clear most of the time.

Both of these act like speed, at least to me they did, they made me very anxious, so, I avoid these two ingredients like the plague. So many cold remedies have these ingredients as they DO dry out your sines, but, they are not worth it, believe me.
