Avatar f tn I had a Cold Knife Cone Biopsy done a week ago and my cramps are worse and the black discharge got significantly heavier, I am worried that this is not normal.
Avatar n tn an endocervical excision with ecc ( done like the LEEP procedure) A cold knife cone Or hysterectomy Even though I am 38 and have no plans to have children ( tubal ligation done in 1990) I think that I will go with the cold knife cone. Do you think this is a wise choice? Also, what are the chances it will come back? Is it possible that these results may show something more severe like AIS? ( still can’t get my mind off those atypical glandular cells!
774271 tn?1235408091 My regular GYN has done a couple of in office biopsies and now a cold knife cone biopsy. The end result was him telling be that the deepest point removed tested with micro invasive cervical cancer and he is sending me to a gyn oncologist. I have been trying to decipher the terms listed but I still need some help. Like... When they say Histologic Grade: Grade 2 (Moderately Differentiated), what does that mean?
Avatar f tn I have white matter brain lesions and positive lip biopsy. Most of my labs come back as normal. No oligalclonal bands, normal eeg, and nerve conduction tests. My symptoms are muscle spasms, knife pain in legs, pins and needle sensation in hands and feet, severe fatigue, dry mouth and eyes, rashes, kidney pain ( feels like passing a stone), GERD, cold clammy sweats, dizziness, uncontrollable sweating at times. A friend has MS and says that many of my symptoms sound like hers.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm still looking for more answers. I had an excisional biopsy done 5 days ago and am still awaiting results. The first results from the "shave biopsy" stated superficial melanoma, thin, .49 mm thickness. What are the chances the report from the excisional biopsy could be a lot worse? Do they do the excisional biopsy as a precaution? I'm falling apart and can't even take care of my kids. The waiting is killing me. Everyone is so optimistic except me.
Avatar n tn In 2008 she had a lymph node swell up, to our surprise it was a recurrence of cancer agin. However, after a biopsy was done and radiation, she was given an all aclear. Now at this point she has been told that it has came back and metastasized through out her stomach, possible liver, etc...The oncologist she's attending wants to give her the Gemzar and Carboplatin, without having current blood test and an updated PET scan.
Avatar n tn 95% of thyroid nodules are benign and if you have multiple nodules, there are even more chances of them being benign over a single nodule. The endo might ask for a biopsy. If you need biopsy, please make sure to get it done with ultrasound guidance and see that slides are sent to proper cytologist for reading. I was recently diagnosed with a single nodule and just went through biopsy etc.
Avatar n tn I am in a similar but different situation. I had a partial thyroidectomy in Jan 07 due to FNA of atypical cells in 2 good sized nodules (aprox 2.0cm) .. the final biopsy was totally benign. Upon final biopsy they found two small micro's in the removed gland that were small like yours but definitely papillary cancer .. no lymph nodes and fully encapsulated. FAST FWD: The intact side harbors a 4.0mm hypoechoic thyroid nodule that we ultrasound the heck out of ev. 6 mos.
1408609 tn?1281841887 has anyone experence alot of pain haveing a liver biopsy done???has anyone have it done by a ct scan and how did they do it??

293157 tn?1285873439 I had a biopsy done years ago, because I had reflux for years and it made some changes in my esophagus. Those changes turned out to be Barrett's Esophagus, just a narrow band of it. I have to take Prevacid for the rest of my life, and get upper endoscopies regularly; it used to be every year, but I've been so long with no changes that it is now every 5 years. Doctors like to take biopsy when they think something looks different.
Avatar f tn Hi, thanks a lot for your reply! Yes, I had an ultrasound of my nodes, in the beginning and the doctor said that to her they are benign-looking but back then, the size of the biggest one was 2,5*0,7 cm...Maybe it was somehow hidden because before the surgery I tried to measure it and 2,5 cm seemed to be the lenght. I don't know. I saw the surgeon and asked him about the knot and he said that he doesn't know what it is.
Avatar m tn It can not the cleared my ERCP as the bile ducts are reconstructed in a different way. In between liver biopsy also done. There is no evidences of rejection and the HBV DNA also negative. Doctors are not 100% sure that the reason of elvevated engymes is dilated IHBR, Present Bilirubin : 4.
Avatar n tn I will get my results and see if one of the nodules is larger than 1cm. Should I request an imaging that determines if the nodules are hot or cold before a biopsy. Thanks!
484160 tn?1343397921 No, not on vitamin D. I don't think they have tested that.
Avatar f tn I would much rather have a breast mri instead of a biopsy anyday. If there is still concern after the MRI then I am sure that they will do a biopsy, but why go under the knife if you don't need to.
981492 tn?1248553393 Hello!! I went and got my ultrasound today, and the tech said that my liver looked just fine; no damage. Should I be relieved and not worry so much? The ultrasound professional isn't a doctor, but I assume that they know what they are doing and can recognize abnormalities. Will I still have to get a biopsy done? I have an appt. with a specialist on the 27th, so I'll get a clearer picture then, but for now I feel a little weight lifted.
5565856 tn?1370010722 A Doc finally found it and recommended I get an ultra sound done, which was last month. The U/s showed that it was 3.67 CM on the right side and it was a hard nodule. There were two others, but they just want a biopsy of the big one. I go for that on Tuesday. I want to say the lump has gotten bigger, but then again that could just be my imagination. I also have right ear pain when I wake up (not sure if that is related or not), Occasionally I have a sharp pain at the base of my neck.
Avatar f tn Hi. They first did a nuclear scan and it showed a cold hypodense nodule. That's why they want a biopsy. I'm seeing a general surgeon on July 23rd. It's being done at a regular Hospital. How is everything with you..
Avatar f tn My question is, I had a biopsy done, I was getting irritations on my area for over a year ago, First time i went in doc said he thought it was nothing, second same, third he ended up doing a biopsy. Well when i showed up for the 3rd app an old irratation was on one side and a new one on the other side. Well it came back from the healing side it was condyloma and on the other side where is it was cultured that it was hsv1.
Avatar f tn I have had cold symptoms for weeks. I finally broke down and went to med express where they pretty much treated me like a criminal for wanting to feel better. I has tried all the home remedies but nothing worked. They ended up giving me an antibiotic at med express. I felt better for a few days but now I feel worse then I did before. I feel like someone is scrapping my throat with a knife everytime I cough which is like every five minutes.
Avatar f tn Echocardiogram WNL. I am cold all the time. I sleep at night under an electric blanket. During the day, I can put on layer upon layer and still be cold. I am 36 and in general good health; a little overweight (5'5" 160lbs). Cycles are WNL, using Nuva Ring. This condition has been going on for almost 2 years. I am also dealing with fatigue. My back and neck are sore all the time because of how I sit or stand when the chills hit. Sometimes I get so cold it almost hurts.
Avatar f tn A breast MRI is a much more sensitive type of test that might be valuable in the future in the aid of a diagnosis before a biopsy is done. I hope you have a GOOD Breast Specialist since it looks like you might be bothered by the Fibrocystic Breast Condition now and then. It's unfortunate but it does affect nearly one half of all women so you aren't alone. Thanks for the update ... I'm always up late by the way. Take care ....
