Avatar f tn m seven weeks clean of oxycodone and still experiencing awful symptoms both mental and physical (which I feel may be some type of post acute withdrawal.) Aversion to food, nausea, dry heave spells, fatigue, insomnia, pounding heart episodes, severe anxiety attacks, mood swings, depression and diarrhea. I've been avoiding Caffiene every time I have anxiety attack episode (which is from opiate WD.
Avatar f tn A cup of coffee a day OR a couple of caffeinated sodas a day is fine. They recommend keeping consumption under 200mg.
Avatar f tn Watch out for withdrawal headaches if you're used to your coffee and stop suddenly you can get a nasty one for a few days. On top of that, pregnancy can also cause migraines, and a little caffeine can help in a pinch; it's an active ingredient in migraine meds (which you CAN'T take). Just make sure you're also drinking lots and lots of water.
Avatar n tn Post-acute withdrawal effects According to a range of Medical journals there is also an often under-emphasized potential for Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome which may last until after the initial short-term. Post-acute-withdrawal syndrome may induce or mimic psychiatric disorders temporarily or long term such as Depression (clinical), Anxiety disorder, Psychosis and in rare cases, even Suicidal ideation.
Avatar f tn Im not at home long enough to drink four pots of coffee straight so I have a container of coffee in my car as a back up and I have a coffee maker in there too. In the mini fridge in my office I have whipped cream, caramel, chocolate syrup, and ice for making iced coffee. On my desk I have seven different types of coffee cups and mugs.
Avatar n tn I asked the nurse if I should completely cut out coffee or is it ok to have a cup a day and she said a cup a day is fine. I cut it out the first time and it wasn't too bad. For some reason this time around it's hard. I'm trying to slowly wean myself and cut it out but I was seeing if anyone else's Dr said it's ok to have a cup a day or did they want you to cut it out? Or is there anything you like to drink in the morning in place of it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Frapps are real coffee they just have a lot of other fattening ingredients diluting the coffee. You wouldn't really be able to know the affects of the caffeine on your baby until its born. You are allowed 150-300 mg of caffiene a day which equals about 1 or 2 cups of coffee or on pop a day.
624754 tn?1233297136 Always eat something first because I could feel weak or faint. The caffeine in my coffee has become unhealthy because I have drank coffee for many years. I know that caffeine requires more food as to be absorbed and caffeine as a drug continues to be active and this is my question; How long should it take to withdraw from the caffeine, how many day?
675923 tn?1296238011 Even though your dose of vicodin is relatively low, your long period of use has likely resulted in some withdrawal. There are also different aspects to withdrawal, including physical withdrawal which would mainly consist of diarrhea, body aches, insomnia, and intense fatigue; psychological withdrawal which would be primarily agitation and depression; and finally something called 'PAWS' or 'post acute withdrawal syndrome'.
Avatar f tn Hi ladies. I am currently on day 5 of week 5. Due date Feb 20! I am so excited! This is my second child but my first is almost 19 lol so I kinda forgot what it's like. I work at 5am (i know this will be brutal as I get further along). I've ALWAYS had my coffee in the morning. I read that excessive coffee (caffeine) is no good for the baby...but honestly I NEVER drink soda (which has caffeine) & only have one or two cups of coffee a day. Thoughts?
Avatar m tn It depends, how much makes a big difference. One or two cups late morning and afternoon has many benefits but not every day. Coffee is like a buggy whip, it can be overdone. It must be black. It is much different when you add cream and sugar. Some coffee is more like a milk shake with a little coffee flavor. If you don't like it black, you really don't like coffee.
Avatar m tn Despite this being an old thread, the truth of the matter is that benzo withdrawals, be it post acute withdrawal syndrome or by any other acronym, can last months and months. Overwhelming evidence and testimonials support that to the point that it's a fruitless effort to say otherwise or point to other causations and treat as if you have underlying issues many times.
910419 tn?1289483727 It could be a caffeine withdrawal migraine since the instant was decaf. Our bodies (since we are migraineurs) like rather rigid schedules, and that includes our caffeine consumption (if we have any in our diet). I have found that most migraineurs will need their daily cup of coffee around the exact same time of the day, and that they cannot replace this cup of coffee with a decaf cup of coffee.
10219953 tn?1426171839 Any body else still having coffee? Iv had 4 Oz cup to 8 Oz couple times a week. Iv noticed that's it's helped with the minimal swelling/water rention when it happens usually the next day after Iv had a day of not drinking any. I still drink my 4 liters of water a day.
Avatar m tn I have just found this forum and have printed 61 pages of all these confessions and took them home.I read all 61 pages and am ready to join.First off, I will have, on the 09-dec-2011, 3 years FREE from pills. I never felt like contributing or helping as mutch as I do now. So, I want to become an active, regular member. I want to share my experiences over several days or weeks instead of all just right now.So, here's a bit. WITHDRAWAL IS HELL. If you feel like your gonna die, That's good.
Avatar m tn Me too. I wasn't told either, and though I didn't stop cold turkey, I've lost three and a half years and counting. But you say it's getting better, so it looks like you're doing way better than I am. There are a lot of things I've learned about that I didn't know about then, but you might try a liver cleanse to get toxins out of your system. If you google protracted withdrawal syndrome there's a site that offers a treatment, but I don't know if it works.
Avatar f tn I know the normal pregnancy 'Dont drink coffee' speech, as I've heard it countless times. But I have also been told that it has not been proven that drinking coffee will negatively affect your growing baby in any way, just that it is recommended not to over-indulge, and not to drink more than the normal recommended daily intake for an adult. I am a coffee drinker, and I only have one cup, if that, every one or two days. I get tired of people telling me that it is harmful to my baby.
Avatar f tn I was only taking max three a day if that, off and on for a year or so. The only withdrawal symptoms that were really bothering me were stomach symptoms (I have ibs anyway) and mostly the RLS on speed feeling like all over my body. The symptoms are almost totally gone now. I was wondering if caffeine makes anyone else extremely happy now (as well as the energetic) I have never been a huge caffeine drinker to begin with.
Avatar f tn I was a complete coffee addict pre pregnancy, but now I limit it to no more than two cups of coffee a day, and sometimes I don't drink it at all. Also, I have a few Dr.
Avatar m tn My question is how long do I need to wait before safely getting back on Celexa to avoid Serotonin Syndrome? Also If you know something else besides the SSRI that could help me please let me know. I feel like this may be my only option.
Avatar f tn Any tips for a coffee addict? I'm always wanting coffee, but I know I need to stop after 1-2 cups for my baby's sake. Any tips that worked for you?
Avatar f tn If you were on Paxil for 17 years straight, quitting can be very very difficult. Lexapro won't make it any easier since it's a different drug. You were on a very low dose of Paxil, but still, that's a long time, and Paxil packs a heck of a withdrawal for many people. So it could be that. Someone on it for that long would usually taper off very slowly. It could also be that being on it that long has burned you out for ssris. Who knows?
Avatar m tn I would want to know if anyone has experienced similar withdrawal syndrome from Risperidone or similar such anti psychotics and about how long could this withdrawal syndrome last after stopping this medicine as I am very distressed with this anxiety.Any responses and suggestions are welcome.
