Common Questions and Answers about Coffee health symptoms

coffee

Avatar m tn I am a 41 y/o married male. I do not use tobacco of any kind and I only drink alcohol 2 to 3 times a year. I am not overweight and I live a decently healthy lifestyle while staying very active. My worst habit is that I drink a pot (12 cup size) of coffee every morning. I have a physical once a year, every year, without fail. This includes blood work and x-rays.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you're having digestion problems. The most problematic of the foods you mention generally are first, the milk, second, the sugar, and third the coffee. But it's hard to say since diet is very complicated, and you don't say how soon after eating you laid down. Chamomile is a good stomach relaxant and anti-inflammatory, perhaps try some of that instead of the coffee, milk, and sugar and see how you do, assuming you don't need the coffee to stay awake.
Avatar f tn It certainly sounds like you are, but you will know for sure if you experience these withdrawal symptoms - especially if these occur 12 hours after your last coffee: headache, foggy, depression, irritability, fatigue, decreased alertness If you are trying to quit coffee, these symptoms can last for a full week. You also mentioned that you are adding whipped cream and syrup to your coffees. These can most certainly be additive. Please see my website: Addictionsunplugged.
Avatar f tn ve been trying to eat healthy and I have shrimp salads or chicken salads for dinner, breakfast is usually kix cereal or honey nut cherios with a banana and coffee. For lunch just have a sandwich on a healthy bread and use mustard instead of mayo. For snacks I enjoy fruit , pretzels, yogurt, rice cakes, or carrots. Avatar n tn I am 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow with baby #3 and the sleepless nights are starting to kick in. I really want, and need some coffee but I am nervous to drink it while pregnant. I know having a little caffeine is not bad and I have a soda every now and then but I've never had caffeinated coffee during any of my pregnancies. What do y'all think?
Avatar f tn Yellow stool can indicate that food is passing through the digestive tract relatively quickly. Yellow stool can be found in people with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Symptoms of GERD include heartburn, chest pain, sore throat, chronic cough, and wheezing. Symptoms are usually worse when lying down or bending. Foods that can worsen GERD symptoms include peppermint, fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, and chocolate. Yellow stool can also result from insuffient bile output.
Avatar n tn Im the same, but only with certain coffee, if i have frothy lattes, milky coffee or cheap granulated, im fine, but if i have propper, strong, filter coffee i just wanna puke. it may be the ammount of sugar you put in too, that wont help with the nausea. I work nights, and 10 hour shifts so need energy, but coffee and energy drinks actually make me feel worse. Boring as it is, drinking plenty of water really really helps!!! drink 2 litres today and tomorrow youll have more energy!
755829 tn?1246919225 Hi there, I provide some basic advice on other forums, but am looking for some advice of my own now, I am wondering if there are health benefits in cutting out coffee and replacing it with decafe coffee, some friends say its good others say it's no better?
Avatar f tn It is great that you are looking out for your own health and the baby. There are different studies about coffee drinking while pregnant. It is still recommended not to drink caffeine drinks: coffee, teas, sodas (Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew to name a few). Decaf drinks do have a minimal amount of caffeine, however, they are safer to drink. Suggest increasing your consummation of water, which is a healthy benefit. Thank you for your question.
Avatar m tn Hi, I've been having health issues for a few years now that no one has been able to diagnosis. I found this forum researching the symptoms A few years ago I was having electronic buzzing sensations - as if my cell phone was set to vibrate and pressed up against me. This went on for months and my doctor sent me to a neurologist who had me do all kinds of coordination tests, etc. and told me I was fine.
Avatar f tn Yes..you need to steer clear of raw fish and fish high in mercury and deli meat that hasn't been microwaved for over 2 minutes. Sugar substitutes in moderation and one cup or coffee a day.
Avatar f tn Can I drink coffee being pregnant? I looked online and got conflicting results saying it was okay. But others said dont even think about it. It would be caffanated coffee. Obviously I don't want to hurt my baby but pumpkin spice coffee is calling my name.
Avatar f tn I also read that it takes longer for the caffeine to get out your system .. What can coffee cause your baby to have ? Or any health issues ?
755829 tn?1246919225 I recommend cutting out all coffee. But if you must drink coffee then yes, I would say that decaff is better than regular coffee. Decaff contains little to no caffeine while regular coffee contains high amounts of caffeine. Caffeine can cause MANY problems. I would name them all but it would take me a very long time. Look at this website for further information on caffeine and the side effects it has. Some you have probably already had and didn't even notice.

Avatar n tn ve been around chronic halatosis people, some inherited it some had diabetes, etc. Others have stinky yawns and breath coming out of their throats from coffee. if it's new to u ask others if they've noticed before you.
1303966 tn?1296740010 Everytime I drink a cup of coffee I have this pressure in my throat (roof of mouth) and face. It comes and goes for a duration, most likely until the caffeine wears off. Does anyone else have this problem when they drink coffee? I have not had a CINE MRI, any my Chiari specialist does not do them. Can caffeine increase CSF and therefore cause pressure when the fluid is getting trapped (pressure build-up)?
867582 tn?1311627397 ll have you know that there is an experimental drug called Caffeinol which is (you guessed it) a combination of alcohol and coffee and it is intended to be given IV to people with stroke symptoms. They have tested lab rats and found that the coffee/alcohol combination helps prevent brain damage when stroke threatens or is present.
Avatar m tn NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Coffee, tea, or decaf-no matter what your choice, drinking any of these beverages may reduce your risk of diabetes, according to a new analysis of 18 studies including hundreds of thousands of people. Health A 2005 research review concluded that people who drank the most coffee were one-third less likely to develop diabetes than those who drank the least, Dr. Rachel Huxley of The University of Sydney, Australia, and colleagues note.
Avatar n tn I'm 20 weeks and yesterday I was craving coffee so bad so I drank some decaf coffee I only drank half of the cup and it was amazing, but I'm kind NDA worried today. Did any of you guys drink coffee while pregnant?
Avatar f tn not because of any other reason than for some reason I dont like normal coffee when I am, its one of my first pregnancy symptoms! If you feel worried then just switch to decaff, if you try a few brands, you'll probably find one that you like (most taste horrible!
Avatar f tn A cup of coffee a day OR a couple of caffeinated sodas a day is fine. They recommend keeping consumption under 200mg.
