Avatar n tn Where I could find articles about Right carotid artery dissection with pseudo aneurism and what causes it. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Ironically, the only time I cannot drink coffee is when I am taking HCV meds. Go figure. I am not familiar with the coffee & SVR studies but I remember there was a lengthy thread about coffee recently. I stumbled across an article about coffee and liver disease & HCV in some on line science magazine recently too. Only this one did not address a relationship between coffee & SVR with HCV.
Avatar f tn Is coffee in moderation ok while pregnant? The doc says its fine but there are mixed messages about this on the internet. I know its best to just listen to the doc because the internet isn't always accurate and can drive you needlessly insane. But my sister keeps sending me these articles, and I'm not sure what to think. I appreciate your input!
Avatar f tn It sounds like you're having digestion problems. The most problematic of the foods you mention generally are first, the milk, second, the sugar, and third the coffee. But it's hard to say since diet is very complicated, and you don't say how soon after eating you laid down. Chamomile is a good stomach relaxant and anti-inflammatory, perhaps try some of that instead of the coffee, milk, and sugar and see how you do, assuming you don't need the coffee to stay awake.
Avatar f tn Ok so I think ill be buying myself a nice hot cup of black coffee tomorrow! I do not have high blood pressure, never have and the only issues I have are fatty liver disease (from bring overweight) and hepc. So no reason I shouldn't drink coffee(only caffeine I drink). Will be printing a few articles out for doc and talking with her more ab this! Thanks everyone.
Avatar n tn Have any of you heard of the recent study released showing significant improvement in fibrosis for those who drink 3+ cups/day of caffeinated coffee? I've never been much of a coffee drinker, but I'm thinking of giving it a shot! I was diagnosed with end stage Cirrhosis (without having a biopsy) in October 2017. I dramatically turned my life around and my last upper GI revealed significant reduction in once was prominent esophageal varices.
12832842 tn?1448728801 My husband was reading on it. Articles from Europe and another recent one I believe here. ( U.S.). For example nicotine gum for when your at a time/place fatigue or tiredness hits you. Chewing the gum supposedly helps. And there's talk of how it protects myelin. Not smoking.. But a patch or gum. I don't know.. I'm skeptical so I thought I'd throw it out there to you all who have been so helpful to the newly diagnosed like me!!
Avatar f tn i also have been using coconut oil in my coffee with agave and in my smoothies ive read so many differant articles stating all the benefits of using coconut oil, fish oil, flaxseed, parssley tea. can i benefit from them?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know of any sugar substitutes that don't have an aftertaste? Even Steva and Splenda have that aftertaste. I'm using raw sugar (2 tsp) right now for morning coffee because I can't find anything else right now. I even tried coconut palm sugar but figured it's just the same as using raw sugar. Any advice would be super. Thanks!
Avatar m tn When they are talking about coffee, are they talking about coffee or caffine? Too much caffine for anyone (MSer or not) I could understand, an expresso, short black etc from ground beens is high in caffine and is 'real' coffee, the instant I drink doesn't have the same level of caffine, from memory instant is the lowest overal. If you want truth you need to look at reputable sites, research and peer reviewed published articles.

Avatar m tn Another reason I feel that it is not a problem is due to the health advantages that coffee has, according to many health studies and reports (assuming this is not just propaganda). I have found that whether or not I drink coffee, the symptoms remain. Another bit of history that I have not revealed is that I am a Gulf War veteran and was in Saudi Arabia / Kuwait / Iraq throughout a one year period.
Avatar m tn again, moderation the key....ive been reading green tea is great for the liver...i still drink green too...
Avatar m tn Higher coffee consumption has been associated with slower progression of pre-existing liver disease and lower risk of hepatocellular carcinoma. The relationship between coffee consumption and response to anti-viral treatment in CHC has not been evaluated.
Avatar f tn ve been trying to eat healthy and I have shrimp salads or chicken salads for dinner, breakfast is usually kix cereal or honey nut cherios with a banana and coffee. For lunch just have a sandwich on a healthy bread and use mustard instead of mayo. For snacks I enjoy fruit , pretzels, yogurt, rice cakes, or carrots. 612876 tn?1355514495 Alright, it's been a long time coming, but I've finally at least *started* it. I'm indexing my collection of journal articles where it's accessible to you all. Here in OUR health pages. This is going to be a labor of misery ....er, I mean LOVE. Ha! This is going to take a long time to complete, and of course as there are new journal articles coming out monthly ... NO, I don't even want to *think* about that. Let's just be happy that I embarked!!

Avatar f tn I love coffee so much and it gets very difficult sometimes. I miss my freshly ground brewed coffee. I have read controversial articles about coffee and pregnancy. So I am keeping myself away from any kind of coffee. I just drink water, milk and juice...
