Avatar f tn I believe from reading about this treatment that it could be very harmful for those on chemo for OVCA, the coffee enemas will irrate the colon and will dehydrate you. the other mentions products may interfer with your chemo.
Avatar n tn i've herard enemas are good for weight loss and stomatch bloating, is this correct and where can i buy them please?
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm assuming you're referring to Gemzar (generic name: gemcitabine), which is a chemotherapy drug commonly used for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. I'm not sure what particular side effect of gemcitabine you're thinking of which could be counteracted by taking Lugol's solution. I have used this drug on a lot of my patients and have never used Lugol's to counteract any of Gemzar's adverse effects.
458072 tn?1291415186 I also do coffee enemas regularly...Non-decaf natural coffee and natural filter..I try to do this early in the day and feel a difference.
Avatar m tn There is good reason not to use the enemas for more than occasional stubborn constipation. Even conventional doctors say this. Be cautious, too, about overuse of laxatives. Even with stubborn cases of chronic constipation, as might happen with IBS, be very cautious about becoming dependent on laxatives. That's a very dangerous and slippery road.
Avatar n tn work 9 hours everyday for a full two years preparing organic foods, vegetable juices and coffee enemas in an effort to cure oneself". Does it always work? No. But it does have many hundreds of recovered patients who testify to its benefit. With best wishes to you in finding your own path.
Avatar f tn the Gerson methods are not approved for the USA this is from the cancer association Description Gerson therapy is a form of alternative cancer treatment involving coffee enemas and a special diet with supplements claimed to cleanse the body, boost the immune system, and stimulate metabolism (see Metabolic Therapy).
Avatar f tn Untill the last few times, about last 3 times I did enema I start to have pains in my stomach that lasts for nearly the whole day. Could the pain be related to the enema? What should I do? Thanks in advance.
7913021 tn?1418048620 I agree with Ashleigh, coffee helps me. I was doing enemas almost every other day. I finally resulted into taking a small amount of castor oil. Due in less than a week so if it assisted with starting labor i sad fine. I tthrew it all up but had a clean system that lasted two days. Back to trying coffee because castor oil experience wasn't a good one.
Avatar f tn I say all of this because I too would like for all of my friends to make healthy choices for themselves, and in particular my friends with cancer. I encourage my friends who are in chemo to drink copious amounts of cranberry juice, because a Rutgers Univ study showed that cancer cells treated with cranberry juice (even as little as 27% juice) prior to being injected with chemo drugs were 6 times more likely to die than those not treated.
Avatar f tn Ice been constipated for years and just discovered and started doing water and coffee enemas about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I had a colonoscopy done around the same time, Enemas are the only relief I've gotten.

Avatar f tn Add me to the list of well wishers !!! Will be thinking of you.. Marty: speaking of the old days, do you remember "coffee enemas" Can't remember what on earth they were for , but I do remember them..I guess they would never be "till clear".. Paula, again--- the very best wishes for you...
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dysfunciton and slow transit. I am trying to do enemas every day but they don't seem to work very well. Once I put the enema in, I can't get the 'urge' to expel it... so it just sits in me. I can try to shove out all the water but it's never easy. Any way to get around this? Btw, I just use salt water - could this be the reason? I'd rather not use anything that might irritate my colon.
1763947 tn?1334055319 I think it helps reduce the ringing in my ears. I bought all the components to do coffee enemas, but my hubby and mom talked me out of doing them. Some Lymies insist they feel better after the enemas.
Avatar m tn Evidence from several European and Japanese studies suggests coffee consumption is associated with reduced risk of liver cancer in. Heavy coffee consumption (defined in the studies as over 3 cups daily by Europeans, or over 1 cup daily by Japanese) reduced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk by an average of 55% over 10 observational studies (Bravi 2007; Larsson 2007).
Avatar f tn t worked well for me. Nurses expect enemas to clear you out properly, and this never seems to happen for me (my most-recent experience of an enema 3 years ago involved heavy uncontrollable anal flow for the next three days, as opposed to my normal slight annoying staining). I found somebody online who discovered she had 'incomplete bowel evacuation' from having a hospital MRI of her rectal function.
Avatar f tn I sent email to HK doctor to request for the surgery, doctor said if he could not clean up the poop, it may need to do in the operation room, there would be a big wound and carry more potential risk. The doctor here refuse to do surgery for me, according to the x-ray they said there were poop in the lower part only. They seem doesn't care, here is no pirvate clinic. The main things is no laxative can help at this moment. I am very scared and don't know how to do it.
Avatar m tn For the past year, my wife has been having almost constant liquid pass and the area around her anus is just totally sore. Our new GI is treating it like IBS/Colitis with wechol and other meds. My wife lost her entire colon to cancer some years ago. They made a J pouch of small intestine and did anastamosis to her anus via stripped rectum (IPAA) and she has always had frequent loose bowel movements, but not liquid.
Avatar f tn It is unusal to hear of radiation for Ovarian Cancer, usual treatment is chemotherapy, but, I have heard of people that have recieved radiation. Treatment is not easy, but, it does not mean she will not be able to handle it. That is a discussion to have with her doctors. I would have to disagree about alternative therapies, while they might make a person feel better, they rarely cure cancer. If they did, they would not be alternative therapies, but rather first line treatments.
Avatar n tn Unfortunely, there are 25 digestive disorders, and a Gastroenterologist is a specialist who can diagnose your condition. In the meantime, you may try using mineral-oil enemas and regular enemas to see whether you can induce a bowel movement. If the enemas give you a partial bowel movement, try a good, safe laxative to further help with your constipation. Dulcolax, 5-mg, is good. The tablets are tiny, and I take three tablets to gain the greatest relief. Your bowels should loosen in 5-6 hours.
Avatar m tn The summary relative risk (RR) for coffee drinkers versus non-drinkers was 0.54 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.38-0.76) for case-control studies and 0.64 (95% CI 0.56-0.74) for cohort studies. The overall RR was 0.59 (95% CI 0.49-0.72), with significant heterogeneity between studies. The overall summary RR for low or moderate coffee drinkers was 0.70 (95% CI 0.57-0.85), and that for high drinkers was 0.45 (95% CI 0.38-0.53). The summary RR for an increase of 1 cup of coffee per day was 0.
Avatar m tn Defecation is easier if I put lubrication in my anal canal and take a hose and shoot some water inside for an enema. Coffee enemas were in the Merck Manual until 1972 and male gays do this all the time, so I regard all the precautions and "dangers" listed on various websites as a product of the sissy culture now spreading in the English speaking world.
Avatar m tn Gas, bloating, pain and constipation. Enemas worked for me, but laxatives did not. Any way, I went to my GI Doc on April 8th and was told I have a SLOW GUT. Which means my system is processing things too slowly. I had already started taking benefiber everyday in my coffee, that at least kept my stools soft. So the doctor says I am to take Miralax everyday until I regulate myself and then adjust it to where it works well for me. I also was told to take probiotics. I am taking culturelle.
Avatar n tn My first effort would be a series of coffee enemas. A series being 1-2 per day for as long as it takes to get the bile flowing again. Lots of vit C also. Look up CEs, glutathione, castor oil packs over liver, whole lemon olive oil drink, Hulda Clark Liver cleanse recipe.
Avatar f tn We used a home-made anti-cancer diet, a natural patented vitamin supplement called PAAWS, a series of coffee enemas, probiotics and a few other natural therapies. This therapy did require quite a bit of hands on work by the owners as it would for you. I hope this information is somewhat helpful for you and I would be glad to discuss this with you in detail. Thank you Dr.
